Recent Mana Kai Maui Resort - Kihei, HI vacation rental reviews

This was a great place for my family of 4. A couple of small things that we have had at other rentals that would’ve made our stay even better were Tupperware to take full advantage of having a week-long stay and a cooler to take to the beach to enjoy cold snacks and beverages. Also, we had a hard time getting beach towels (we could only find 2 and requested 2 more which took about 2 days to arrive). We heard several other families with same issue. There were plenty of beach toys for our 4 year old. We loved being right on the beach. Having the shared washer dryer for the floor wasn’t a problem and the AC worked well to keep the place cool. We didn’t see where this was listed anywhere in the instructions for the unit, so to save you time please note that the sliding doors must be completely closed for the AC unit to turn on.

The location was perfect — loved hearing the ocean all night! Easy access to Keawakapu Beach with stunning views from the lawn. The resort also provides lawn chairs to relax in which we gladly took advantage of when not using the tommy bahama chairs at other beaches. Snorkeling right out front is excellent, and we got to swim with plenty of turtles. As others stated, the unit is worn but that was to be expected from reviews. The Some logistical hiccups occurred with Vacasa; I also wasn’t initially provided with the outer door code, and the local phone staff was unable to assist over the phone, they didn't even understand. After 20 minutes, I confirmed the outer code with the resort front desk who provided it. That caused some initial frustrations - the process should be much smoother since many reviews provide this feedback.Overall, the incredible location, beach access, and amenities more than made up for the minor drawbacks. I would definitely stay here again!

My husband & I were trepidatious about the lodgings. When we got there, it was better than expected. The view from our lanai was spectacular & we could hear the ocean waves from inside our room. We had a very relaxing stay. The only negative is that I rented a snorkel & mask from the vendor downstairs that didn’t work well, which thwarted my snorkeling experience. In addition, he recommended a good snorkeling spot up the beach that was a total bummer.
