Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Guests should know that this complex is not child friendly. Too many rules -no running no laughing too loud essentially no fun zone. Otherwise the complex is very convenient to the beach shops and restaurants.

This is our 14th stay at the Mana Kai, but the first time staying in Condo 701 - we have found our new favorite place to stay at the Mana Kai! 7th floor views next to the beach can't be beat. Great beds, very clean, well appointed with everything needed to allow you to relax and enjoy your time at Maui. Even though it was the middle of March when we stayed, we saw whales every day from our lanai. Snorkeling directly in front of the condo was awesome, with multiple sighting of sea turtles. We are already planning our next trip to Maui and plan to stay at this condo. Thanks!

The view is fantastic. On the deck was two nice beach chairs and two additional beach chairs we didn't use. Also a beach umbrella plus two boogie boards and a small ice chest. (Unfortunately the handle was broken). All of these were unexpected. The only negative was the directions including a photo for how to operate the TV in the living room didn't work. I was able to make it work with a combination of both remotes but the directions should be updated.

What is Kihei, Maui, known for?

Kihei is known for boasting warmer winter weather than other parts of Maui. In turn, its desirable climate and pleasant temperatures draw in travelers looking to take advantage of the area's six miles of calm beaches that offer crystal-clear views of the Kahoʻolawe, Molokini, Lānaʻi, and West Maui.

The area is also famous for its tranquil beaches that allow visitors to take advantage of a beautiful piece of Hawaiian coastline that's more relaxing. So if you're looking for a destination to relax, swim, kayak, or snorkel in the ocean, here's where to go next.

Do you need a car in Kihei?

Kihei has plenty of markets, cafes, and beaches accessible on foot, making it an accessible and fun place to stay for non-drivers. Maui public buses also service the area and grant guests access to other parts of the island.

Nevertheless, renting a car offers travelers more freedom to visit places like Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, explore the island more accessible, or witness an unforgettable sunrise at Haleakala's peak.

Is North or South Kihei better?

Both sides of the island have their advantages and distinctions. For example, Sugar Beach—Maui's longest beach—is in North Kihei and offers a softer coastal experience. In contrast, South Kihei's Cove Beach delivers wilder waves, making it more adventurous for surfers.

If you had to choose one or another, think of North Kihei as the quieter, calmer destination to South Kihei's busier and more lively coastline.
