How it all started

When Vacasa founder Eric Breon set out to find a property manager that could offer professional care and a financial return for a family vacation home on the Washington coast, he quickly uncovered that the antiquated vacation rental industry was in need of an update. His entrepreneurial background made him a natural problem solver, and he was eager for a challenge. Knowing there had to be a better way to care for vacation homes and provide guests with an exceptional experience, Vacasa was born around a dining room table.

Turns out, the market was ready for a vacation rental management company that would take a modern approach, using mobile technology and data to enable local teams to focus on caring for homes and guests, while maximizing revenue for owners. Vacasa quickly grew from its roots in Pacific Northwest to service homes across the country.

Today, Vacasa has grown to be the largest full-service vacation rental management company in North America. We have big plans for the future, but our focus remains true to empower our homeowners, guests, and employees to invest in vacation.

Serving on Vacasa’s Board of Directors since 2019, Matt Roberts became CEO a year later to lead the company’s strategic growth and corporate vision. Formerly CEO of OpenTable and CFO at E-LOAN, Roberts has deep experience working for two-sided marketplaces and rapid-growth companies that utilize technology to deliver exceptional consumer experiences.

Bob Milne brings three decades of hospitality experience to Vacasa, with a focus on operational excellence. He built and sold a vacation rental business to Wyndham Worldwide and later served as the company’s North America president. He also sits on the board of the industry’s trade association, the Vacation Rental Management Association.

Lisa Jurinka joined Vacasa to oversee global legal affairs and help the company scale to its next phase of growth. Bringing expertise in IPO readiness, strategic transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, she has built her career providing legal guidance for high-growth technology companies like Jive Software.

Mike Dodson, Chief Revenue Officer
Bringing more than 30 years of sales and management experience to Vacasa, Mike Dodson oversees all the company’s revenue streams. He focuses on optimizing customer acquisition and increasing revenue for existing Vacasa homeowners. Prior to his appointment, Dodson spent the bulk of his career driving revenue growth for OpenTable and American Express.

Jeff Flitton is responsible for the company’s strategic technology direction and adapting it to the evolving needs of the business. With experience at AmeriBen and Balihoo, he is focused on scaling existing platforms and investing in new applications essential to maintaining Vacasa’s competitive edge in the industry.

Mike Xenakis, Chief Product Officer
Mike Xenakis oversees Vacasa’s technology product roadmap and ensures that product development efforts are prioritized alongside the company’s top-level business strategies. Xenakis ran the product team at OpenTable for 12 years and, before that, was in marketing at The Clorox Company. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the Kellogg School of Management.
