Recent Austin vacation rental reviews

The inside was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for getting around downtown and South Austin. The street and neighborhood are clean and quiet at night. Perfect place to stay and explore Austin.

The unit was great, had everything I needed to enjoy a weekend in Austin and felt like coming home. Only thing feedback I have is if you are a light sleeper try to get a unit that doesn’t face the freeway. It can be pretty loud at all hours with trucks and sirens. Other than that I had no complaints!

Outdoor adventures in Austin, TX

One of the most bike-friendly cities in the US, Austin is best enjoyed on two wheels. Whether you're getting around town or traversing the 10-mile Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail, you're sure to appreciate the city's excellent biking culture. If you'd rather hike or jog, you'll be in good company - Austin is consistently named one of the 10 fittest cities in the US, and its citizens are all about the outdoor activities.

Visit the Barton Creek Greenbelt, which has multiple nature trails, swimming holes, and for the more adventurous, rock climbing up the side of limestone cliffs. If you want to see a really cool, really unusual structure, check out the Cathedral of Junk, a multi-story structure made out of auto parts, bike parts, scrap metal, and more.

Arts and culture in Austin, TX

The famous South by Southwest music festival, which takes place in March, is the largest one of its kind in the world. With over 2,000 acts and 28,000 attendees, there's something for everyone to enjoy. It's not just the festival, though - Austin's official motto is "The Live Music Capital of the World," a title the city thoroughly earns. There are more than 250 music venues in the city, and a wide variety of genres can be found on any given night.

The visual and performing arts are well represented here too. Tour the Blanton Museum of Art on the University of Texas campus, or browse through the Yard Dog Gallery. Make sure to check the schedule for the Bass Concert Hall, so you can catch your favorite play or musical as it comes through town.

Day trips from Austin, TX

If you want to get away for an afternoon, there are plenty of great options near Austin. Visit one of the wineries in Wimberly, or book a tour and try several in the area. While you're in Wimberly, stop at Pioneer Town, a recreation of an Old West town, for some local history.

With plenty of family-friendly activities and one of the best Oktoberfests outside of Europe, the stunning geography and rich history of Fredericksburg are only 80 miles away. Learn about the history of the German settlers of the city, or enjoy modern entertainments like the Fritztown Cinema.

Take a jaunt over to Lago Vista, with its many parks and nature trails. Watch the migration of the monarch butterflies, or look for foxes in the bushes along the path. Lago Vista has excellent restaurants - take the opportunity for dinner at Haven on the Lake, with its gorgeous view of the water.

Whether you're here to play outside or to soak in the local culture, you're sure to love your stay in one of our Austin vacation rentals!
