Our group of six friends (three couples) just stayed here and had a great trip. We saw the most recent review before arriving and were a little nervous, but our experience was much better. The main heater was still out during our stay, but we packed accordingly and were totally comfortable with the space heaters and fireplace. The flue wasn’t broken—just a little finicky. You have to push the pin in to keep it open, and it can sometimes slip closed, so you do need to keep an eye on it. The kitchen was absolutely adequate and we made several really great meals. The primary bedroom and bathroom is a DREAM, and the rest of our group said their rooms were very comfortable too. We spent a lot of time around the amazing dining table playing games while taking in the views and hanging out in the living room. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus. We also didn’t find ourselves short on towels at all—everything we needed was there. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat: incredible views, close to the bluff trail (but not too close), and easy walks to some really lovely beaches. We’d happily stay here again.

My family of four plus our four legged baby stayed at Blue Mermaid this past weekend and we were not disappointed! This house was impeccably decorated, the beds were super comfy, and the artwork was exactly the laid back ocean vibe we were looking for. The owners clearly took a lot of care and consideration in the way the appointed the home, from the stunning light fixtures in every room to the very well stocked kitchen. We watched the sunrises and sunsets everyday. We went tidepooling at the beach, just a 5 minute walk from the house. We laid out all our sea treasures on the sunny back deck and listened to the sounds of our kiddos playing the ukelele (that was already at the house) to the sounds of the ocean. The upstairs bedroom was perfect for our kiddos and the hot tub was a delight for the whole family. The poured concrete in all of the bathrooms with their surprising colors was so special, especially because of the radiant floor heating. The staff at Vacasa made us feel like this was our home away from home and took care of answering all of our questions. The home was cozy and warm when we arrived and sparkling clean. We will definitely be back to visit Blue Mermaid again!
