Restored Riverfront Home with a Cook's Kitchen & Private Hot Tub on Two Acres

This magnificent Rhododendron vacation rental has been lovingly restored and is a perfect place to stay during your trip to the Mt. Hood area! With a riverfront location, two acres, a cook's kitchen, private hot tub, and many entertainment options to keep everyone busy, this inviting, high-quality home is a great way to begin your adventure-filled getaway!

Located in a secluded area a few miles north of Rhododendron, this home is in a prime position to enjoy everything nature has to offer. Clear Creek, a tributary of the Sandy River, flows right through the property, so you will be able to enjoy the peaceful babbling of the crystal-clear and cold creek as it courses downhill. Although you may feel like this home is in the middle of nowhere, a ten-minute drive will bring you to restaurants and grocery stores, and you will be within a pleasant 30-minute drive of the larger city of Sandy or skiing at Timberline Lodge.

This Rhododendron getaway is impressive-looking inside and out. As soon as you step through the front door, you'll be able to appreciate the the hand-crafted architectural details, as well as the large, open living space with huge east-facing windows to let in that prized morning sunlight. A sitting area arranged next to those windows provides another way to take in the amazing view.

Just past the sitting area is the living room featuring a 55-inch Smart TV with cable, a Blu-ray DVD player, and a library of DVDs to choose from. Surround-sound speakers line this space, making it a perfect place to watch an exciting movie together. More entertainment options in this home include family-friendly board games, WiFi Internet, and a telephone to stay connected. There is not cell phone service at the house and spotty in this area.

An open chef's kitchen with beautiful cabinets and gleaming stainless steel appliances will delight the cook in your group. And, with all major appliances plus a few extras like a waffle iron, blender, slow cooker, and mixer, you can cook up whatever your heart desires! A dining area has a lovely breakfast nook overlooking the back yard, plus a breakfast bar for additional diners. And out on the deck, you will have a deluxe, high-end gas grill - perfect for an afternoon cookout!

Throughout the living area are splendid, new hand-scraped Amish wood floors and lots of windows to let in sunlight. A half-bathroom and laundry room are also on the main floor, so you won't have to worry about bringing enough clean clothes during your vacation. Don't forget to warm up by the fireplace!

The master bedroom is also located on the main floor, which is ideal for anyone who may have trouble climbing stairs. This room contains a fabulous king-size bed, a 32-inch Smart TV with a Blu-ray player great for watching a late-night movie before drifting off to sleep, a brand new sliding door, and a wonderful bathroom. There you will find a walk-in shower and luxurious jetted tub, perfect for relaxing bubble baths.

Upstairs are two additional bedrooms, both with nice queen-size beds on beautiful wood frames (one of which has an additional 32-inch Smart TV with a Blu-ray player), plus another full bathroom. This home has plenty of space for six people to sleep comfortably.

In the garage you will discover a Ping-Pong table, a card table and chairs, and even an upright piano! Venture outside to see a new deck complete with plenty of seating for everyone to sit and enjoy the fresh air. Use the gas grill to cook up a lunch of burgers, or skip right to dessert and use the fire pit to roast up some s'mores for the group!

A fabulous hot tub on the recently-extended deck provides a great place to relax and luxuriate in the bubbling warmth. On a drizzly afternoon or a chilly evening, especially, you will love having this hot tub. A little farther afield in the two acres of property you will find a patio area with some lounge chairs that would be amazing for soaking up some sun while listening to the creek rush by.

Rhododendron is a small town nestled among the trees at the base of Mt. Hood. About an hour east of Portland, travelers drive through Rhododendron on their way to visit the mountain. The town has a few great restaurants and a small grocery store, and nearby Welches offers more dining options and a great golf course. Sandy, just half an hour west, has a huge variety of restaurants and stores, plus a theater in case you would like to catch a movie on opening day.

With the spectacular Sandy River a couple of miles away from your doorstep, and fabulous lakes including Trillium Lake (20 miles away) and Timothy Lake (30 miles away), anyone who enjoys fishing, boating, or swimming will love it here! Some of the country's best hiking and biking trails are in this area, and of course, Mt. Hood's Timberline Lodge and Mt. Hood Meadows are about a half-hour away for amazing wintertime adventures.

Whether you are seeking a laid-back, quiet place to rest for the weekend or a more activity-filled outdoor retreat, this luxurious Mt. Hood vacation rental is a perfect place to start your trip. You will simply not want to leave this fabulous, gorgeously-updated Rhododendron home!

* Please note that there is a Nest doorbell security camera by the front door, a camera on the roof focused on the driveway and the shop, and a camera in the back corner of the back of the house that faces the backyard/creek.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was lovely to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful scenery and stream in backyard! Great time for the kids, too.
Jessica M. Apr 2022
Beautiful home and setting. We found the home easy to access, Just minutes to the main road and shopping. It was clean and well equipped. Everything we needed for cooking and cleaning. Plenty of towels too! Beautiful bedding and so comfortable! Which is something I have found lacking, at other VRBO's we have rented in the past. We enjoyed the fireplace both nights. There was a small amount of wood there for us when we arrived. Which was appreciated too. The hot tub was clean and ready for us too. We loved the deck out near the creek. It was a beautiful setting for morning coffee or an afternoon to enjoy the sunshine. The yard was well kept too. Another reviewer mentioned dog doo. While we were there, two dogs from the home next door were seen in the yard using it for a bathroom. It is possible that was the issue for that time too. Can't really control that. It is not fenced. Nor would you want it to be in such a beautiful setting. We will be back! Love this property!
Tom D. Apr 2022
Our plans were to find a spot in the woods with that log cabin feeling and we couldn't have picked a better home and location. This home has everything from a large yard surrounded by woods and a beautiful flowing creek that was picturesque with plenty of open yard for the dogs to run. The interior layout was perfect between the dinning table with a bay window setting and two open seating areas with the kitchen set between. One area has a nice comfy theater feeling for movies and on the other side a large vaulted ceiling with plenty of seating around the fireplace. Nice game room with pingpong, darts, open seating and TV for us sports watchers. Home was clean and extremely inviting. This might have to be an annual trip! Thank you to the entire Vacasa staff for making our getaway well worth the trip.
Rick and Courtney U. Apr 2022
Far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough to groceries, restaurants and activities. Plenty of room to spread out and explore. Will be back again!
Naoko T. Mar 2022
We had a good time at Shining Serendipity. The house was clean and the backyard was amazing. The hot tub was not very clean but bearable. We had problems with internet connectivity. The internet service was not available or extremely slow. Many times, we could not make phone calls on our mobile phones. The house does not provide a landline, so we thought there should be a reliable internet service for safety. The gas stove fireplace was not working. Overall, we had a good vacation with some tolerable inconveniences. The weather was nice, and we had great times in the backyard.
Manager response:
Hi, Naoko! We're happy to read you enjoyed your stay despite some frustrations. Housekeeping will be reminded to clean the hot tub after each guest, and we are working on a repair for the gas fireplace. We apologize internet is spotty due to the remote location of this rental. Hopefully you were still able to relax. Thanks!
Kristy V. Feb 2022
All the amenities you could want. Very comfortable home.
Tyler B. Feb 2022
Nice house, big property, cool amenities (hot tub, ping pong, darts)

Our trip to this cabin will be one that we talk about for years to come. The home was beautiful as well as the surrounding nature. There were a few hiccups at the start of the trip, but either the property owners or managers were very sure to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible.
Ray B. b. Dec 2021
Great Location and house Roaring creek
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Ray. We apologize there were some issues with your experience. There is no phone service, but WiFi is provided. There is a generator that will run most of the home, but power outages due to snow and ice are out of our control. Hopefully we can host you again under better weather conditions.

Fresh dog poop in back yard that my 2 year old nephew stepped in barefoot within minutes of arrival. Yard needed to be mowed. Mixed messages on if dogs were allowed as it was advertised they weren't when I rented it so I had to pay a dog sitter but then there was fresh dog poop in yard and signs of dog scratches on doors inside and a note saying they weren't allowed on furniture. Also when I rented it, it said check out was 10 but a note inside the house said checkout is at 11. So, that's what we went with and then the housecleaner showed up at 10:45 so again, mixed messaging. I also was not warned that outdoor fire in fire pits weren't allowed when I rented it but when we arrived there were signs in the fire pit areas saying it wasn't allowed. That was a bummer because the kids wanted s'mores and we were all looking forward to a fire in the evening. Hottub had a bunch of debris in it which made it kinda gross. Many areas of the house seemed unfinished or as afterthoughts. You could tell it was built as an income property. Some examples include- still some painters tape on the ceiling in bedroom, funky bathroom with unfinished shower area and weird drywall job around the log wall on the opposing side of the bathroom wall, uncaulked areas where log and drywall met, weird closet space and cheap particle board in master. Odd considering all the log work in other areas. No mop. Other than that, 8 out of a 10!
Manager response:
Hello Shanti, We do apologize for the unwelcome surprise at arrival. This property may have been pet friendly previously, as ownership just recently changed. We do not have control over other animals however. Check out time with VACASA is 10am to allow for housekeeping to clean , we apologize for the misunderstanding. All these items are available to out guest through the trip manager accessible through the confirmation email. We are available for our guests to ask any questions of the property at any time and if there are concerns during your stay we can be reached via email, chat or phone.

My daughter gives this cabin a 10/5. Lovely home well furnished we had a great time.

Fabulous getaway!
Deborah S. Feb 2021
This is a lovely house--very private with many conveniences. Many kitchen supplies, towels, good bedding, nicely decorated. When the lock box stopped working and we could not get in, Vacasa sent a maintenance person quickly. We understand that it is Vacasa's policy not to have a manual or book of information. That does not serve them or the owner well. For example, the pictures show a roaring fireplace but there is no wood and we had no idea where to buy some. There is also a gas stove that we could not operate. The maintenance person took a look at it and had no idea how to operate it and thought it was broken. [Half of the outside grill was broken but he did not know how to fix that either.] It was 66 degrees in the house when we arrived and it took us forever to figure out how to use the thermostat. The house has a DirectTV and a DVD player but again no instructions--we never did figure out how to use the TV. Conversely, there were signs in the house but they were confusing. The check-out sign had a check-out time an hour later than what Vacasa told us. There was a card with WIFI info that was totally different from what Vacasa told us. There was a sign to put shock in the hot tub each time we used it but we could not locate it anywhere. It also would be nice if the pots and pans were replaced--they are in terrible condition with the handles falling off many of them. We would rent the house again despite these issues
Manager response:
Hi, Deborah! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. The property manager will be updating the placards in the home and will address the cookware and grill. We do apologize if we missed leaving out the wood for your first fire. There are instructions provided to our guests on how to operate the gas stove, and the thermostat on the wall for regular heat is quite simple to use. We hope to be able to host you again!
Michelle Z. Jan 2021
The house sits in a beautiful area with the creek right out the backdoor. The hot tub has full view of the stars at night. Our little group was very comfortable with the space inside as well. It was a peaceful quick getaway.
Mary T. Dec 2020
With remote working and schooling we were hopeful to get it done from there but we had to leave a day early because the internet connection was so poor.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Mary. We are so sorry for the details that were amiss during your visit. We appreciate and encourage guests to let us know of any concerns that may arise in the home so that we may work to address and resolve them as soon as possible. Please note our team is available 24-hours a day via phone call and we would have been happy to help. We hope to host you again soon.
Angelique H. Nov 2020
The home is absolutely lovely. Our family made some wonderful memories there.
I was not impressed with the management of the property, however. There were many issues, and the weren't resolved as quickly as we would have hoped. We didn't have use of the hot tub, which was a big attraction for us, for the first evening/night and the following day. It was on some sort of setting that didn't allow the temperature to go up. We had planned a campfire in the pit outside the night we got there and s'mores with the kids. There was no firewood as was promised in the house description. I called quickly about the Wifi information being incorrect, the firewood, and the hot tub. I was told somebody would be with us within the hour. Two hours later, I had to call back. Then, I had to call again the next day. The first 24 hours were spent trying to get things fixed. We kept a positive attitude and enjoyed what we could. There were other issues, too, that I'm not going to detail, but overall, we still enjoyed the house, the property, and the area.
Manager response:
Hi Angelique, we apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay. We are glad that our team was able to address some issues but regret that we could not take more drastic measures to repair everything during your stay. We hope we have the opportunity to impress you in the future.
Jo H. Oct 2020
The location, furnishings, supplies, cleanliness. Just perfect!
Anja S. Jul 2020
Located on a quite Lodge, wonderfully shady for hot summer days. Enough room for our family of 5 and conviently located to lots of outdoor activities. We'll come back soon. I gave 4 stars out of 5 since the internet connection was a bit slow.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback. We will be sure to bring your comments about the wifi to the attention of the local staff and the owner. We appreciate your comments and helping us improve for our future guests.
Robert F. Jul 2020
Great amenities, great views, amazing location, hard to not have a good time here! Thanks for the memories!
Lisa L. Nov 2019
We absolutely loved this home. It was beautifully decorated and so well equipped we ate at home 2/4 nights. The hot tub was great fun and so were the selection of games. The only downside was there were no clothes hangers in the closets (but obviously and honestly this did not detract from the wonderful time had!!) We would happily stay again and recommend to everyone
Kim W. Aug 2019
Listen to the creek and smell the crisp mountain air. Great family vacation at this house in the woods!
Heather J. Jul 2019
This home was everything we had hoped for, and more! We wanted a remote, relaxing retreat near Mt. Hood, close enough to great hiking spots and good restaurants, which this home was both. We loved going up to the Timberline Lodge, going on some beautiful hikes nearby, driving out to the gorge, and checking out a bunch of breweries in the area. The creek out back was absolutely spectacular, the hot tub was amazing, and everyone loved being treated to seeing mt. Hood at sunset (truly breathtaking!). I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a well-appointed, relaxing retreat. The *only* thing we wish we would have known about was the fact that the couch in the TV area was a pullout bed, but we survived just fine without it. :)
Damasso S. May 2019
We booked this place based on the other reviews... which were spot on!
Amazing location and setting far from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
We booked a 3-night stay here and if it weren’t for prior engagements, we would’ve made it a 4-5 night EASY!
The creek! The hot tub outside! The living space! The games! It all surpassed our expectations! Looking forward to visiting again.
Ansley H. Feb 2019
We loved staying here. It was close enough to lots of the outdoor activities we had planned, while still feeling secluded and private. The hot tub was a fam favorite! FYI for future renters: the WiFi connection was very poor. I booked this place in part for the WiFi because I knew I’d have to do some remote work while I was there. Bad idea! I had to leave the house to get my work done elsewhere—be prepared for that!
Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We will make sure the wifi is working correctly and we want to remind guests they can call our 24/7 Guest Service line for any issues they might encounter. We hope to host you again soon!

All of them
Phanindhar S. Sep 2018
The house was very nice and well kept. The backyard is awesome. However the internet was pretty bad. On our second it stopped working all together.
Matthew U. Jul 2018
For the last 10 years, me and 4 guys I graduated high school with have taken a mancation. We've stayed in some great places and participated in a lot of fun activities. This cabin was definitely the best we've in which we've stayed. Beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable. The back yard is AMAZING! When we get the chance to stay in Rhododendron again we will be booking the same lodge. Thank you for an enjoyable weekend!
Benjamin K. Jul 2018
Beautiful, quiet, peaceful and lovely deck with a good kitchen.
Milea B. May 2018
This was the perfect place for a family get-together. We so enjoyed the privacy, the beautiful setting, and finding everything we needed here or close by. Thank you, Vacasa!
Ashley R. Apr 2018
We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the cabin. It was also a perfect Central Location for a lot of Oregon’s attractions.
Summer O. Mar 2018
What a beautiful home! There were so many fun things to do and to enjoy. We loved the game room! The property is absolutely breathtaking as it sits on a beautiful creek. We absolutely love sitting by the fire and doing puzzles, hot tubbing, taking luxurious bath’s, enjoying meals together that overlook the creek and all of the fun things to do in the game room. There was even a piano! I have to mention that this home was cleaned immaculately, We have stayed at so many different homes on the mountain and this was the cleanest by far. We can’t wait to stay again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.
Jiliane T. Feb 2018
Very comfortable stay here. Well equipped for a mountain get away in the snow. Secluded location providing quiet privacy and very little noise. Able to enjoy the mountain surroundings without all the distractions from the highway. Fabulous collection of antiques including a sideboard that is over 300 years old! Would definitely recommend this property and probably will visit again. Quick access to the mountain and wonderful hot tub for post-snow warm up and relaxation. No problem with tv or internet. That being said, it is satellite access so keep that in mind as I’m sure varying weather conditions could prove a problem.
Linda T. Feb 2018
This is a wonderful place to spend your mountain vacation.
Ann C. Jan 2018
Cabin was beautiful, property and surrounding area relaxing and fun! We hope to come back in the summer and do some hikes around the area.
Felix O. Jan 2018
We booked this house for the weekend, we were 3 couples and a dog. The size of the house was perfect. It has a great backyard that connects with a stream. Hot tub worked perfectly for us. The location is incredible, you can be in Timberline in 20 min. I do recommend this house.
Toni H. Jan 2018
We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It was private and surrounded by nature’s finest! Loved the river and the hot tub out back. The rooms were a bit small (other than the master), but we didn’t mind getting cozy. I would love to come back in the summer time!
Renee B. Dec 2017
Our first visit & certainly an awesome memory was made her for our entire family. Just wished for more time to enjoy our stay here. Our next visit will be longer.
Cheryl D. Dec 2017
This cabin is really fun and would be great in any season you like.
Mellie B. Nov 2017
The house and property were amazing!!
Susan S. Jul 2017
The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. Very private & quiet. Loved the view of Mt Hood, just perfect. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a relaxing quiet time away from the city.
Kenna D. Jun 2017
Well worth the money. We were so relaxed and comfortable there. It really felt like home to us for the week.
Chad W. Jun 2017
Lots of enjoyable activities to keep you busy including fireplace, ping pong, hot tube, sitting by the stream, etc.
Catherine S. Jun 2017
Great location. Lots of information re house and area. Easy to access. Great furnishings but relaxed enough for grandchildren. Lots of seating.. liked the master area a bit to itself. Loved the fireplace and outdoor fire pit also. Would definitely go back.
Stacie T. May 2017
We had a great time at this property. It is beyond beautiful. Plenty of space, comfortable beds... it was great! We ran into trouble with the WIFI, it didn't work for us at all. We also didn't have cell service, and the phone line in the house didn't work. Luckily we didn't need to contact anyone, but if we did we wouldn't have been able to. Another small negative, the coffee pot was broken. We ended up boiling water and coffee and straining it... which was fine, but just time consuming. We would definitely stay here again.
Judith D. May 2017
Beautiful home located on a little slice of natural beauty. The backyard with the creek running through it was filled with peace & tranquility. we would definitely stay here again.
Randy F. Apr 2017
My wife and I (and our dog, Leon) stayed here for an extended weekend as a little getaway from Vancouver. The home was in a great location. Just about 7 minutes off the main road but far enough that we really felt out in the woods. The property itself was beautiful. Large lot, very secluded - you can't see any neighbors at all. The river was running in the back yard which was cool for us...and Leon. As far the interior it had everything we needed. Cooking utensils, towels, napkins, all the beds were made and everything looked clean. The hot tub was clean and running well. The cleaning product is in a container on the steps of the hot tub and you just have to dump one container into the water after use.

Like I said, it's only a few minutes to the main road which has access to coffee shops and restaurants which was really nice. Plus all the trails, snowboarding access, etc, is also just 20-30 min up the road. We will definitely be coming back. the only negative we could come up with was that the main couch for relaxing and watching TV was very uncomfortable. Oh, and we brought some Blu-rays for our downtime to watch but only there's only a DVD player. Very minor gripes, otherwise cool place! Ping pong in the garage :-)
Naoko T. Apr 2017
We love this property, this is our second time to stay. The house is clean and the perfect place to relax and relief life's stress. This house is ideal place to have a family vacation.
Jessica B. Apr 2017
This house is just what we needed to get away from town and our real life for a few days! Close to the mountain, town, & great food, hiking, and live music. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy it as well.
Diane W. Apr 2017
The house and surroundings are beautiful and serene. The sound of the stream behind the house is very relaxing. We loved being outside by the steam with a fire going in the fire pit, even though it was drizzling most of the time. I would gladly stay at this location again.
Stephen C. Feb 2017
The house is beautiful and in a lovely setting. Very convenient for skiing on the mountain
Holly F. Feb 2017
We have stayed in this house for four years and have fallen in love with the location, the setting, the views, and the house. It accommodates our family perfectly, and the trip to Wy'East has become a family tradition. This year we were sorely disappointed as the general maintenance and condition of the house has taken a steep decrease. We arrived and there was no water. We had a thirsty dog, and everyone needed to use the facilities, and it was quite chaotic while we figured this all out. In the future we suggest the house instructions have a "if there is no water" section, so one can solve this problem quickly. We are certainly capable of turning on water, but a helpful guide would have been nice. None of the three televisions in the house was operational, nor were we able to connect any of the three to a DVD player. (When we called for help, nothing was repairable or connectable during our stay.) The skiers didn't care much at all, but three of us were not skiers, and had previously enjoyed this weekend for cooking, snacking, and watching movies. The wifi is dismal, which we expected, and didn't care because we brought DVDs. Had we known, we might have prepared better, but this was a major disappointment. Be warned that there are no hairdryers. Since there had always been hairdryers, we didn't pack any. The hot tub cover is broken and water-soaked. It has to be lifted off, not slid with the self-opener as it had in previous years. It takes three people to remove and replace it from the hot tub. The loveseat/bench in the family room collapsed when one person sat on it to put on socks. Upon inspection we see that it had been glued several times, but was very unsafe as the 6'5" 200lb man crashed to the floor. We were terrible dissatisfied with the accommodations. The skiing was best ever, the meals and companionship were as fun as ever, but the house needs some TLC, as well as replacing furniture, electronics, and the hot tub cover. We are asking for a refund, or a free weekend next year, as Wy'East sorely did not meet our expectations. in our experience Vacasa can do so much better.
Manager response:
We are so happy this guest has returned to this home four years running, and we apologize this stay was not as perfect as in previous years. Fortunately, the water was able to be turned on relatively soon after they checked in. Their concerns regarding the TVs, the hot tub cover and the bench have all been resolved. A hair dryer was included. We have taken care of their request for compensation. Thank you.
Senta K. Feb 2017
overall a beautiful house and location
Kary H. Dec 2016
Highly recommend this home. Perfect location for commute to activities and will stocked with items we didn't have to bring with us. Perfect home to build family memories at relax and enjoy our have fun in the outdoors. Beds and furnishings were comfortable. We were very pleased with our stay and the check-in process etc
Jeff M. Nov 2016
Very nice would stay again
Michael M. Oct 2016
This property is well-built, clean and well-maintained. Lots of rough-finished wood beams and furniture. Plenty of space, with a well-furnished kitchen. A beautiful property with a lovely creek in the back yard. Close to many hiking trails; right next door to Mt. Hood National Forest. A stunning view of Mt. Hood sits dead-center in the great room windows. Dog-friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much, and will be back!
Kulamanu K. Oct 2016
If you're looking for a place to getaway from it all, this is the place. It's beautiful with trees and a stream out back. We brought our 4 children (ages 6-13) with us and they loved it just as much as we did. They even had board games for the whole family to play. This is exactly what we wanted and hope to come back again soon.
Ryan S. Oct 2016
Right on clear creek so you can listen to the water while you soak in the hot tub, or warm your feet by the firepit
Amber T. Sep 2016
My husband and I spent our 14th anniversary lounging on the extensive patio furniture. We did not want to leave and plan on coming back. The kitchen is amazing and the surrounding property and view was astounding. What a gem.
Derek B. Aug 2016
Great place, comfy beds. Great view. Beautiful home. TV furniture uncomfortable, afters long day of fun.
Robin C. Jul 2016
House was beautiful! Accommodations were ever clean and comfortable. My family loved this house. They especially enjoyed the brook behind the house. We would have loved to stay longer.
Ed A. Jun 2016
The location is near services and a local grocery store. Fishing, Hiking, Skiing and the Ski Bowl Adventure Park are a stones throw away. However the place is nice and secluded enough for guests who would rather get away to relax and want to enjoy doing nothing in a cabin near a stream in the woods.
Jackson R. May 2016
This home makes you feel like you're the only one for miles, yet it's only a few minutes from the nearest restaurants. Better yet was the stream through the property which you could hang out on the deck out there, or just open your window and fall asleep to the sound of the river's flow.
The master bedroom on the first floor was great for my parents and my bedroom upstairs was very nice as well. I also loved the hot tub and the view of Mt. Hood from the kitchen and dining area. Would highly recommend!
Dennis B. May 2016
Everything was great and easy! The only complaint was the lawn was not mowed and was knee high.
Sheri P. May 2016
We enjoyed our weekend with a fire and the sound of the river in the backyard. Cozy times inside with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the natural beauty.
Jasmine S. Apr 2016
This home is perfect. My family and I were so comfortable and happy in the home. The ping pong table and the piano were huge hits with my kids. The creek in the back in mesmerizing. The surround acerage is covered with huge old, moss covered trees. There are many areas to enjoy on the property. The creek side has a nice seating area, there is a nice bonfire area with seating, a nice sized patio table, two big dining tables inside the home. And the furniture is gorgeous. Especially near the fireplace. My kids and I actually cried real tears when we had to
Leave! We will surely be returning! Fantastically comfortable and beautiful home. Look no further...this is the spot!

Our family of six adults and two young children had a great, but too short vacation at Wy' East Log Lodge. The location is great. We hiked, we played in the creek, we loved sitting on the deck by the creek, we enjoyed the hot tub, we used the kitchen to the fullest extent with some great meals, we really enjoyed the large dining table for our family, we played ping pong, and - the view is incredible! (especially at sunset). We will be back.

Best birthday I've had yet. The place is extremely beautiful and roomy. Just enough to be away but just close enough to be close to a store and the mountain for snowboarding or any hiking.

Our stay was very nice in this lodge! There is enough room for a group of 8! and lots of boardgames which will entertain the group on a nice calm evening. I recommend this place to all. Very nice lodge with lots of room. Thanks!

I would have to say that I was pretty disappointed with our stay at the Wy' East Log Lodge. It looked like a beautiful place, however, when we arrived we noticed how dirty it was. The stay at the cabin was my gift to my best friend who was turning 40. I'm sure you can understand how I felt presenting her gift as a dirty place to stay for 4 days.

The bathrooms and kitchen had been cleaned, however, the carpets and furniture we very dirty. There were actual clumps of hair and fur on them. The dish washer was full and so we had to put dishes away when we arrived. I had to call to have housekeeping come back out and dust and vacuum. When the girl was finished vacuuming the vacuum was so full of dirt it had to be emptied before she could use it again, it was bad. It was as if it had not been vacuumed for months. The sliding glass door had animal footprints and nose smudges on it and none of the end tables or kitchen table had been cleaned off they were all dusty and dirty. The gal that came out with the vacuum dusted the end tables and cleaned the dining room table. We had to help her remove the glass and place it back on the table. She was very nice.

If I was the owner of this cabin I would be disappointed in the shape that it was left in. Carpets and floors need to be cleaned, the dryer belt needs to be replaced. We weren't able to use the dryer because it would start to squeak very loudly and smell hot. There were cushions left on the outdoor furniture to soak in the rain along with a rug that was hanging on one of the rails out back. We did not use the hot tub, there were no directions for the to turn it up, etc. It rained quite a bit while we were there so we did not even use the hot tub.

I was not happy that we had to have someone come into the home and disrupt our vacation time and that I had to spend time on the phone or even writing this email. I am embarrassed that this was my gift to my best friend on a special Birthday.

Vacasa received my email with my complaint on Monday and never returned a call or email regarding the issues we had while we stayed, I actually had to contact them again today, Thursday. I was very disappointed in the Customer Service I received, especially when they say that Customer Satisfaction is their priority. I don’t believe that was the case.

We rent homes quite often for business and pleasure and I have never been disappointed in any like I was with this, mostly because it didn’t seem like that big of a deal to Vacasa.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your review. We regret to see that your stay was so disappointing. Housekeeping will work on a deep cleaning, and the Property Manager will look into the maintenance items. We are very sorry that your customer service experience was not better as we do strive for excellence. We hope to have another chance to impress you!

Wy' East Log Lodge was more than we hoped for, by far. The location is delightful and private with a view of Mt. Hood and a lovely stream in back. The kitchen is the most well equipped of any place we have ever stayed. The entire ambience of the place is outstanding. We had a wonderful time snowshoeing the base of Mt. Hood with our family from Idaho and will most definitely return to experience a different season at Wy' East Log Lodge. After staying here, we are spoiled and will return again and again. Thank you, Vacasa!

The floor to ceiling rock fireplace and the family dining table in the same room, could not have been better for a family Thanksgiving dinner. The setting was beautiful and perfect. The house is decorated very nice and has a great homey feel.

We stayed here for 9 days. We liked the remote location and convenience was only 25 minutes away. Downfall was no cell connection, which we knew. However no internet service was available at all. This made it very difficult to plan daily activities. The location, view and home is impeccable and I would stay here again. Gorgeous location!!!

The place was fantastic. Tons of entertaining space and an awesome yard for lawn games. The property was great for the dogs as well. Definitely will be renting here again in the near future.

The house itself was great- we had two families with several children, and enough space for everyone without feeling cramped. But our favorite part was that we felt like we were out in the wilderness- but actually only drove about an hour from Portland to get there.

The hot tub was lovely, especially in the rain!

Have stayed at WyEast for many years and it just continues to get better, the fireplace, the new flooring, the new patio doors off the master, beautiful, I will be back for sure, my dogs love the private backyard.

backyard was wonderful, my dog loved it more than we did, summer would be amazing to spend days there. House was very comfortable, kitchen, dining area, living room were perfect size for my family of 4, of course good for many more people to gather too.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at this cabin. You can hear the river as soon as you walk outside. Mt. Hood views are seen right through the huge, front windows. It's peaceful, quiet and with the added hot tub you are sure to relax and recoup from work and the craziness of life. This would be an amazing summer rental since the river is a stones throw away from the house. Truly a magnificent property and ideal location!
