We stayed five nights at this Garden City home with five adults and an infant, and it truly felt magical from start to finish. The house is beautifully stocked with everything you could think of, plus plenty you wouldn’t have thought of but were so amazed to find.
The space itself is incredibly comfortable, with plenty of bedrooms, lots of cozy couches, and soft throw blankets everywhere you want to settle in and relax. The kitchen was a highlight, fully equipped with everything from a large side-by-side fridge and separate ice maker to small appliances, and even a hot cocoa bar. This was perfect for the below-freezing mornings we experienced. Hot chocolate and a lake view in the mornings! Couldn't get any better!
The view of Bear Lake from the great room is unforgettable. We watched snowstorms sweep across the lake, turning it from deep blue to steel gray to a soft white veil of snowfall. In the evenings, the valley lights slowly flickering on across the hills created a peaceful, almost storybook setting. A couple of nights, I sat in the hot tub on the front deck taking it all in. It was absolutely serene.
While unexpectedly cold weather made this trip special, we could easily imagine how wonderful it would be in summer as well. The backyard has a great play area for kids, picnic tables for meals and visiting, and wide-open mountain views. It is clearly designed for families to gather and enjoy time together.
What really sets this home apart, though, are the thoughtful details. There are extra outlets and USB ports everywhere, games and books for all ages, and a pantry full of helpful kitchen tools. Everything is clearly labeled, which makes it easy to find what you need and just as easy to leave things in order. For families, the home is especially well-prepared, with high chairs, a booster seat, child-safe outlet covers, and even color-coded clothespins to keep track of towels, which is such a clever touch.
Other conveniences stood out too. There are wall-mounted shampoo and soap dispensers, blue-light plug-in fly traps that double as nightlights, and plenty of shoe racks to help keep the home clean. There is even an emergency flashlight and fire extinguisher thoughtfully placed. The master bathroom was a favorite, with a comfortable soaking tub and a well-labeled bidet system.
Outside, the attention to detail continued. There's a cushioned play area and even a drinking fountain for summer days. There is plenty of parking, and even several passes for access to Ideal Beach, including the activity center. What a fantastic bonus! Bear Lake Golf Course is just down the hill, and my sons and I are already talking about coming back for a summer golf trip.
We also loved simply walking the neighborhood roads. The views of the lake and valley are breathtaking at every turn.
This home is more than just a place to stay. It is a place to gather, relax, and make lasting memories. We can't wait to return!
