Make Forgotten Coast your next getaway

Stretching from Mexico Beach to St. Marks, Florida’s Forgotten Coastis one of the last truly undeveloped stretches of the state’s Gulf shoreline. Known for its sugar-white beaches, rustic seafood shacks, and tranquil small towns, this region offers an escape from the crowds and concrete of Florida’s more commercial destinations. If you’re looking for peace, nature, and slower days by the water, the Forgotten Coast is exactly where you want to be.

Recent Forgotten Coast vacation rental reviews

We loved the location, Quiet and steps from the bay. The house is located in a residential neighborhood. Neighbors were friendly. Watching the sun set was amazing. The house was new and updated. The beach was minutes away.

The house was nice and not far from the beach. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and access to a deck, which was a great feature. There are quite a few stairs throughout the house, but overall it was a good place to stay.

We loved the place and the island. Home was super cute with great furniture and decor. Conveniently located yet felt remote.

Why visit the Forgotten Coast?

The Forgotten Coast is Florida as it once was: simple, scenic, and community-driven. It’s perfect for travelers who prefer long beach walks over flashier boardwalks and fresh oysters over chain restaurants. With miles of protected coastline, nature preserves, and low-rise beach towns like Apalachicola and Port St. Joe, this region caters to those craving space, seclusion, and charm. Whether you’re vacationing with family or escaping solo to the sea, the Forgotten Coast offers all the relaxation you need and none of the noise you don’t.
