House

We stayed a week at the coastal cabin, and had a great time! We had one 2yo with us, and we were easily able to "baby proof" by setting breakable items up higher, and we took thick rubber bands to proof kitchen cabinets to keep little out of things. The home is lovely, comfortable (beds too), nice selection of pillows, LOTS of towels and basic spices. You will need to bring your own firewood, great fire pit area! The location is fantastic! We were no more than 20 minutes from MANY sights. Light house, Bryan animal preserve, Anchor Bay tide pools and great beach/waterfall (5 minutes north) enter through the Anchor Bay campground and get a day pass. Nice bathrooms available, and showers if needed. Bowling Ball beach was attempted but the last leg of the hike was too hard for a toddler. There is a GREAT park for kids at Sea Ranch, from that park take the trail straight out to the beach. You will arrive at the Harbor Seal pupping area. It is amazing! We saw so many babies! I learned that you must not wear bright colors! It frightens the babies....I quickly chucked my hot pink hoodie and had a dark t-shirt underneath and all was well in their world again. There are two great viewing points for seals. Then continue south on the trail for a great access beach to hangout on. We found sea shells, and a few adult seals did a swim by! This is just some of the great things we did, there is so much in Gualala to do! So back to the house...we cooked there the entire week, other than two meals, and had everything we needed. You will need to bring your own baggies, etc. For packing lunches/leftovers. Also recommend to bring slippers for the tile floor. It gets a tad chilly, even with heater on. I wore two pairs of socks and that worked too. We will stay at the coastal cabin again!
