Recent Edgemont vacation rental reviews

First I want to start off my Saying that we rent vacation homes frequently and of all the houses we’ve ever rented the Grandview Lodge home on Greers Ferry Lake had the most magnificent view that we ever have seen. Not only was the view fantastic. The house was fantastic.also When we rent a house, it’s for a whole group of family members and we have always tried to get a house that has ambience that makes a statement that our family will walk in the front door. Drop their bags and go oh my !!! This house made that statement no one that arrived in our party was less than flabbergasted by what they saw. The house is not a house. It looks more like a rustic ski lodge in a travel magazine! With the overhead exposed beams, vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beautifyGreers ferry lake it is indeed a Stunning site!!! The owners were very polite, very attentive and we could not have been more pleased with their service. We were there for a family reunion and we have an 82 year-old aunt that we got to come to the house and she was in awe of the view and the the house. I would highly highly recommend this house to anyone who wants something out of the ordinary something wonderful and basically I will close by saying it was definitely a memory maker. I couldn’t have asked for better weather or a more perfect setting for a surprise getaway to celebrate my husband’s 50th! The house was spacious with a gorgeous view, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We had a few minor issues, but the host responded promptly and was very accommodating. The owner even helped me arrange a golf outing for my husband and his friends, which made the trip extra special. I’d love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake and all the amenities that were limited at the end of the season.

It was a comfortable home and the beds were comfy too. Nice quiet and private location with no close neighbors. Lots of space for parking especially if you need a nice flat area to park a trailer.

Plan your Edgemont getaway

Edgemont vacation rentals work well for travelers who want a low-key Greers Ferry Lake stay with boating, fishing, swimming, and island hiking close by. Families, anglers, couples, and groups can plan around Greers Ferry Lake, Sugar Loaf Mountain Island, Devils Fork Recreation Area, Hill Creek Recreation Area, and Narrows Recreation Area.

As you compare homes, think about whether you want to stay near lake access, close to a recreation area, or in a quieter setting with room for boat gear and relaxed evenings. Each home is unique, so review listing details for parking, kitchens, pet policies, WiFi, laundry, outdoor space, dock or boat access notes, and seasonal details before you book.

Things to do in Edgemont

Looking for things to do in Edgemont, AR? Start with Greers Ferry Lake, then use named access points and Sugar Loaf Mountain Island to turn a general lake stay into a practical plan.

Greers Ferry Lake

Greers Ferry Lake is the main outdoor anchor for Edgemont, with coves, wooded shoreline, boating, fishing, swimming, and quiet water days shaping the trip. Use the lake as the starting point, then choose specific recreation areas based on where you are staying and what kind of day your group wants.

Best for:

Sugar Loaf Mountain Island

Sugar Loaf Mountain Island is a distinctive island hiking destination on Greers Ferry Lake, giving travelers a lake-and-ridge experience beyond a simple shoreline day. It’s a strong fit for active travelers and families who want a memorable outing tied directly to the lake.

Best for:

Devils Fork Recreation Area

Devils Fork Recreation Area is a close-to-Edgemont Greers Ferry Lake access point for a classic lake day. It works well as an easy first stop when your group wants water access without spending the day driving around the reservoir.

Best for:

Hill Creek Recreation Area

Hill Creek Recreation Area is a north-shore lake recreation area near Edgemont for travelers looking for a quieter Greers Ferry Lake access point. It’s a practical alternative when you want to explore more than one side of the lake during your stay.

Narrows Recreation Area

Narrows Recreation Area gives boaters, anglers, and lake-day travelers another specific access point to plan around near Edgemont. Pair it with Devils Fork and Hill Creek when comparing which part of the lake best fits your day.

Where to eat in Edgemont

Dining around Edgemont is best treated as a small-lake-market planning note rather than a restaurant-heavy section. Travelers will usually mix local lakefront convenience with nearby town dining in Heber Springs, Greers Ferry, or Fairfield Bay.

Heber Springs works well when you want casual restaurants, coffee, sweets, and post-lake meals tied to a more developed town center. Fairfield Bay adds resort-lake dining near marina, golf, and lake routines, while Greers Ferry can be useful when circling the reservoir or using south-side lake access.

Edgemont local tips

Day trips from Edgemont

Edgemont makes a quiet Greers Ferry Lake base for nearby town stops, Ozark nature, caves, culture, and Little Rock history. Plan these as separate half-day or full-day outings, and check current hours, road conditions, water levels, and access details before you go.

Heber Springs

Heber Springs is a nearby lake and river town where travelers can add downtown stops, trout-country context, and Greers Ferry Dam area sightseeing to an Edgemont stay. It’s the easiest nearby town outing when guests want more services, restaurants, and visitor amenities than Edgemont itself provides.

Buffalo National River

Buffalo National River is a nationally protected river corridor with bluffs, paddling, hiking, and Ozark scenery that feels distinct from a Greers Ferry Lake day. Treat it as a bigger regional nature outing when your group wants to trade lake recreation for a river-and-bluff landscape.

Ozark Folk Center State Park

Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View centers on Ozark music, craft, and cultural traditions. It’s a strong choice when travelers want a culture-focused Arkansas day trip rather than another water-based activity.

Blanchard Springs Caverns

Blanchard Springs Caverns is a cave and spring area in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests that offers a cool, geology-focused day away from the lake. Plan it as a nature day trip when you want scenery beyond shoreline recreation and are comfortable leaving the immediate Greers Ferry Lake area.

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site preserves one of the country’s most important Civil Rights landmarks. It’s a meaningful history-focused day trip for travelers willing to leave the lake region for a capital-city excursion.
