Mount Howard Chalet - Joseph, OR

Located on the scenic west side of Wallowa Lake, Mount Howard Chalet offers a gorgeous waterfront setting, comfortable and thoughtful furnishings, and a private boat dock that you can use all summer.

Step inside to find high-quality pieces throughout the house. Guests frequently comment that it feels like it's right out of a magazine! This three-level home is actually quite large, offering plenty of privacy for your group. The main floor is home to the kitchen, the dining space, and the living room, and provides access to the deck. Relax in the living room beneath vaulted ceilings that not only let in the light but give you a treeline view.

The lower level features a king bedroom, a utility area with a newer washer/dryer, and another door out to the patio with steps that lead down to the private boat dock. The upper-level loft has a king bed with an open banister down to the living room; because of the vaulted ceilings on the main floor, you have a nice view from your bed of the trees and the night sky.

Things to Know
Boat docks are seasonal, therefore, access to the lake from some lakefront homes is seasonal.
We try and keep the docks in from May 15 until September 10, approximately. However, if water levels drop below safety levels, they will be pulled sooner. This is considered an act of nature - no refunds will be given if we do have to pull the docks early.
No cable service, but there is a smart TV with DVD/VCR
No fires or firepits are ever allowed due to the heavy timbered area and county restrictions
Do not exceed the occupancy or parking limits at any time
If you are looking for a place to gather with others nearby, please use Wallowa Lake State Park, Little Alps Day Use Area, Joseph City Park, and the north and south day use/boat launch areas

• No pets are allowed at this vacation rental.
• Parking notes: There is space for one car only. Be extremely careful to not park in the neighbors' space. Do not park your boat at the house. Also note that winter may require 4x4 and/or chains and even possibly parking close to the house, using a sled and Yaktrax, and walking. Please call to verify the very best way to access the house. Even in the summer, we recommend you use low in an automatic transmission or four-wheel drive to not tear up the road as you go up the steeper driveway. HIGHLY recommended 4X4, chains and/or traction tires for winter driving.
• Guest entry instructions: This rental utilizes an E-lock, a digital lock that requires a unique code to enter. This code is reset after each guest's stay.

  Docks are seasonal which means access to the lake from some lakefront homes is seasonal too. If the dock is not in the water we urge you to not try and access the lake from the home and by doing so will be at your own risk.
