Classic riverfront home w/ great views, game room, hot tub, & modern cabin feel

In full view of the scenic Salmon River, this Welches vacation lodge invites up to 12 guests to kick back in a lovely wooded location far from city congestion. Perfect for large families, your whole group will enjoy top-notch comforts, including an outdoor hot tub, an amazing game room, which includes a TV, and quick access to fishing, hiking, skiing, and golfing.

Tucked into a quiet neighborhood and surrounded by towering Douglas fir, western red cedar, and moss-laden hemlock trees, the home's woodland location is perfect for a quiet weekend away from the city or an extended stay to catch up on plenty of rest and relaxation. Plus, it's just down the street from the Three Nines Golf Course, as well as a trailhead with hikes in the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness, and skiing and snowboarding are just a short drive away at Skibowl (13 miles west), Timberline (20 miles west), and Mt. Hood Meadows (25 miles west).

A classic mountain home with wilderness-themed decor, sturdy wood furniture, and an updated log cabin aesthetic, you'll find a stay here to be inviting and comfortable. Enjoy a cozy afternoon nap alongside a warm fire in the living area's custom stone hearth, or flip on the cable- and DVD-equipped flatscreen TV and gather your family for some group bonding. Settle into the luxurious brown leather sectional, or admire the backyard views from the adjacent microfiber couch. Warm, sunny days are best spent on the expansive backyard deck, where you'll find exceptional views of the trickling river just beyond the property and two glass-top tables for al fresco dining.

Speaking of dining, whip up fresh, home-cooked meals in the spacious kitchen. Modern appliances, a variety of cookware, and ample counters will assist in your culinary conquests. And when meals are ready, sit down to eat together at the adjacent six-chair dining table or at the breakfast bar with seating for two. In the mood for a barbecue? Just use the gas grill.

After filling your bellies, fill your time with some fun post-meal activities, including foosball or poker in the game room, which also has a wall-mounted flatscreen, a comfortable red leather sectional couch, a bar area, and access to the backyard. You could also throw on your swimsuit and head out of the room's sliding glass doors to wind down in the covered hot tub. Make sure to also spend some time along the backyard hiking path, where you can pause for wildlife views and listen to the sounds of nature from a wrought iron bench overlooking the river.

When it's time to call it a day, retire for a great night's sleep in any of five bedrooms (one has a TV), which will accommodate up to 12 guests. King-size beds sit in every bedroom except one that has one queen-size and two twin-size beds. With modest furnishings like dressers, reading lamps, and shaded windows, the bedrooms give you the opportunity to focus on what's important: getting deep, restorative sleep.

Wake up refreshed and ready for new adventures. Pick out a clean pair of clothes from a recent load of laundry in the washer/dryer, update your social media using the WiFi, then head out for more fun in the wilderness wonderland just beyond your doors.

You'll certainly find plenty of hikes just steps from your doors, but if your aching muscles need some attention first, plan a trip to the Spa at Mt. Hood for a high quality massage. Take a 14-mile drive east to grab a hearty country breakfast at the Huckleberry Inn (don't forget to sample the delicious marionberry pie!) and walk through the small village in Government Camp, or simply stay home and enjoy your luxurious rental.

Visit quaint and quiet Welches with an inspired stay in this lovely Mt. Hood vacation rental. Plan for thrilling mountain-themed adventures and supreme relaxation when you book it today!
