Charming A-Frame with Entertainment, Free WiFi - Easy Beach & Golf Access

Enjoy all the comforts of home during a stay at this adorable Gearhart vacation rental with room for four guests and a great location close to the beach and the golf course.

Located right off 3rd Street in Gearhart, there are exciting activities around every corner, including a few fabulous eateries and the well-loved Gearhart Golf Links! Plus, the beach is only three short blocks west for building sand castles, long walks on the sandy shores, surfing, kayaking, and much more.

This charming A-frame has a welcoming cabin feel, and is casually furnished and decorated to bring you all the necessities of home. The living area is open and airy, with bright natural light flooding through the front wall of windows. Take a nap on the over-sized sectional couch, watch your favorite show on the TV, which comes with cable and a DVD/VHS player, and snuggle up in the armchair by the fireplace to read a good book.

Adjacent to the fireplace is a round dining table for four, great for eating home-cooked meals together after a fantastic day of sight-seeing. After your meal is cleaned up (which is easy with the dishwasher), grab a few board games from the entertainment center to play. WiFi access is provided.

The well-equipped kitchen makes budget-friendly meals a snap. Just bring along fresh ingredients and use the included major and small appliances (a microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, and blender) to whip up tasty meals for the whole group.

A washer and dryer and small sink are available in the main bedroom for your convenience. Dogs are welcome for a small fee.

Grab your tennis rackets and walk the three blocks to the public tennis and basketball courts for some fun exercise. If those aren't quite your thing, the golf course is only half a mile away. Walk down Cottage Avenue to the Pacific Way Bakery and Cafe for a delicious meal on your way to the beach. Shop at local boutiques, or head two miles south to Seaside to walk the Promenade and window shop at the carousel mall.

Rain or shine, your group of friends or family will have a blast staying at this quaint Northern Oregon Coast vacation rental.

The perfect , quaint home with great backyard for our furry boy, gorgeous walk to the mage stick beach! We will be back
Marlen D. Apr 2022
Loved everything about this place. It was a home away from home!
Marianne S. Mar 2022
This cozy, airy, little A-frame is really charming! Skylights, adorable kitchen with all the things, comfy couch and chairs. Loved the big enclosed backyard for our pup to run and play, and the walk to the beach was short and pretty, over the rolling dunes. You can hear the ocean while sitting on the wraparound deck. Spotlessly clean with so many towels and extra blankets, too! Gearhart is really the perfect location…so quiet, and away from the crowds and traffic at Seaside, but close enough that we could drive over, shop, and walk the promenade anytime. Will definitely be back!
Whitney B. Oct 2021
Perfectly equipped, warm little A Frame. Great for the 2 of us to get away for the weekend!
Craig S. Jul 2021
Michael F. Jul 2021
Close to the beach but out of the commotion of tourists. Quick drive to seaside or cannon beach, and a short walk to have a fire by the beach and watch the sun set.
Amethyst S. May 2021
Everything we could have hoped for. Cute, cozy, quiet, and close to the beach. Nice to be in a residential neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of a vacation destination.
Gail A. Mar 2021
Great location if you can't get ocean view/oceanfront with 2 blocks to the beach as well as a nearby cafe and diner on 101. Mcmenamins is also nearby.
The back yard is great for your dog and the decks around the house provide good outside seating.
Bedroom is very small with a quasi-comfortable bed. Bathroom could use some updates-like a low flow (chair height)toilet and better lighting and a rug for those cold floors. Tiny shower doesn't look inviting but is functional.
All in all a relaxing stay.
Evangelina S. Mar 2021
Great location close to the drive-on beach, beautiful home and clean, it had everything we needed.
Susan K. Feb 2021
The cabin is rustic, old, and gently funky, which worked for us. But the process to set up this booking was about like trying to get a covid vaccine--a confusing mess.
Manager response:
We are sorry to read our booking process caused any confusion. Please do not hesitate to call us so we can assist you in making the process a breeze. Thank you!
Nicole H. Jan 2021
This place is cute. We totally loved it for just me and my husband and a little get away. The bedroom is a bit smaller then we anticipated but overall our stay was good.
Thomas W. Dec 2020
The bed was particularly stiff - which led to a major loss in sleep over our time there. This coming from someone in their 20s who's never had an issue with something like that before.

The top of the house is locked, though not explained within the listing I think. Backyard was usable for a dog - though unfortunately no door directly there, nor any window to keep an eye on them. Barking is prohibited in this area as well...

The rest was good! Location is a close walk to the beach, cabin (from the outside) was really cute, and there is a small cafe a block away. I do wish they had checkout instructions.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Thomas! We're happy to hear that you and your pup enjoyed this charming home. We're sorry to hear that you did not find the bed to be to your comfort. Please know that the loft is currently off-limits to guests, which the listing does reflect. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We look forward to hosting you again for a more comfortable stay in the future!
Allana M. Nov 2020
This A-frame is really neat! Located just a short walk to beach, you can hear the ocean from the home. Enough space for my husband and dog and I, we loved watching the storms roll in! The fenced back yard was perfect for the dog and the wrap around deck was fantastic! We enjoyed playing games by the gas fireplace and staying warm and cozy. We cooked all our meals here, kitchen has just about everything you’d need to make a hearty dinner and breakfast!
Kelli M. Nov 2020
Perfect home base as we took grandma form Seaside to Tillamook. We saw numerous beaches, shopped and relaxed each evening in what we called the “cabin”. Meals were enjoyed and our dog loved the fireplace to recover from the daily dose of running in the sand. We walked to near by beach for the most amazing sunset we have ever seen. We would stay here again.
Samantha M. Oct 2020
The place had a cozy feeling and was suitable for me and my dog. It's a 5 min walk to the beach from the house which was wonderful. Location is key for this place
Stacey L. Aug 2020
This house is in a nice, fairly quiet but friendly neighborhood (lots of folks walking their dogs and going by on strolls). The A-Frame home itself gives this beach property a unique cabin feel, great location really close to the beach, but what forces me to rate this place with one less star is the fact that the finishes and furnishings in the home are rather dated/cheap. Also, the house doesn’t have much ventilation, so we always had to crack open all the doors and windows. Other than that, the house was great for our group, the wrap around deck is nice to hang out on, and the gated backyard is a great bonus. I can see it being good for those with dogs. Would recommend.
Ann S. Jul 2020
PROS: Quiet neighborhood, great location - 15 minute walk to the beach; 3.5 mile Ridge Trail Loop. Customer service was helpful in regards to getting a cleaner out there to clean what should have been cleaned initially.
CONS: The house was not up to cleanliness standards - stained & sticky linens (we brought our own pillows, sheets & blankets); looked like dishes & utensils were put away dirty; stale food left in cabinets; a lot of sand in washer/dryer; some appliances were lacking maintenance; cushy toilet seat that needs to be thrown away; black mold in shower; bedroom smelled like wet dog and dog kibble on the carpet (we don't own a dog). We even spent a couple hours cleaning & disinfecting, which took away from our vacation time.
Manager response:
Hello, Ann! Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the location of your stay! We value your feedback surrounding the cleanliness of the home and are working with our local staff to address the issues in this home. We welcome this as an opportunity to improve the quality of experiences we provide for our future guests. We hope to host you again!
Kris G. Jun 2020
Really liked the style of the space. Some nice updates, but deck and screens need repair. It has a great sized backyard, but it's completely unusable, since there is nothing in it. lots of towels/bedding and plenty of light. It was hard to cool the place down, with only 1 small fan.
Elizabeth K. Dec 2019
The location is amazing - close to beach, cute shops, golf, walking trails. Quiet neighborhood. Backyard is perfect and private. Appreciate the owners allow a dog. House is cute, clean, and fully stocked. I would rent it again. The only regret is it took 4 hours to warm up the house and the extra blankets had holes in them and were sticky. Glad I brought my own. Management was awesome with communication and ease of check-in and out. Had a wonderful time!
Mark R. Sep 2019
Cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our long weekend! We brought our two small dogs and the yard and location is perfect! Short walk to the beach and coffee. We loved Gearhart!
Lisa K. Jul 2019
If you want to bring a dog, are seeking quiet rather than a party atmosphere, and love A-frames (as I do) this is a great choice. It is a pleasant walk past a few blocks of nice houses and over some grassy dunes to the beach, without having to get back in your car. It was so wonderful to stay on foot and away from the high-season traffic on the main road! (ps: Do be careful and leash your pup if the elk are nearby. They are beautiful to see from a safe distance, but they may charge - or rear and stomp - if threatened!)
Jennifer E. Jul 2019
The location of this home is ideal. Just a short walk to the beach and coffee shop. The home was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay with our baby. Kitchen is cute and updated. Fully fenced backyard was a plus, although it's not really set up for hanging out in. This place is small, but it's a great spot for home base when planning to be out at the beach all day!
Sally M. Jul 2019
The place was clean, pleasant, well stocked with towels. The bed and couch were very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
Darren A. Jun 2019
The town of Gearhart was a perfect getaway and easily accessible to Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Astoria for day-trips.
Easy walk over to Geahart Golf Links and drinks at McMennamins.
Dena A. Apr 2019
We loved this place! All the comforts of home and then some! Nice fenced backyard for the pups, so close to town but far enough away for that small town feel. And the beach, oh the beach. 5 minute walk to heaven. You can hear the waves from the yard. The kitchen was fully stocked, there was ample bedding with lots if cozy fleece blankets. The washer and dryer were a bonus. Even laundry soap was provided. We had the best time and can't wait to go back!!
Tina P. Mar 2019
The bed is very old and needs to be replaced, the sheets also. The kitchen is minimal. I would not stay here again even with the perfect location.
Manager response:
We are disappointed that this guest did not enjoy their stay. We encourage guests to view all photos prior to booking as we never wish for a guest to be surprised upon arrival. We hope to host this guest in a home that better suits their needs in the future.
Jamie D. Jan 2019
Seas the Day was the perfect getaway. We walked to the beach each day, cooked great meals in the nicely appointed kitchen, and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. I think we'll stay again in the future.
JENNIFER G. Nov 2018
This is a nice place for a small family to stay. It was clean, light, quaint, and within walking distance of both the beach and coffee. My only recommendation would be that the owners supply more blankets and some softer pillows. We got quite cold one stormy night and couldn't find any extra blankets anywhere... we ended up borrowing some from a friend's rental house!
darlene h. Nov 2018
The cottage was a cute and cozy with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Would definitely stay there again. And hope to soon.
Ahren H. Oct 2018
I am a Gearheart Guru. My family and I have been enjoying Gearheart for decades.
I will say that I was very surprised with the beach cabin. It was clean, beachy, and equipped with all cooking untensals. Which for me was really fun because I love to cook for family!!!! My 2 year old sun loved scooting around on this 🐞. Really nice place. It could potentially sleep up to 4 adults!!
Thalia A. Sep 2018
This place was so cool. I like how close it was to everything. Perfect for a short family vacation.
Monique M. Aug 2018
The home worked great for our 2 adults & 1 child family.
Michael G. Apr 2018
All The comforts of home
Groshong E. Mar 2018
We enjoyed our stay in this cozy Gearheart cottage. It was a convenient and central location to access the beach and various basketball tournament gymnasiums.
Carol M. Feb 2018
Nice cozy A-Frame in Gearhart. We traveled in late February and picked a wet, windy and chilly weekend. We brought lots of DVD's to watch while we stayed inside out of the windy weather.
Maggie O. Sep 2017
This is a tiny little house but perfect for two, great price and location. I wish it had a barbecue but we still managed to have great food! Really good bed, slept like a baby.
Mohammad J. Sep 2017
Loved everything about the stay. Nothing more to say.
Lana D. Aug 2017
The place was very nice. It was a short walk to the beach and 10 min drive from seaside and 20 min to cannon beach.
Mitzi M. Aug 2017
We stayed in August 2017 and really enjoyed our time. The home is quite small and adorable but it has all that you need for a weekend at the beach. It is in a great location, only three blocks to the coffee shop and a few blocks to the beach. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends. It is perfect for one couple and small children, as they have to sleep on the sofa.
Kevin F. Aug 2017
Ideal location to walk to beach and to spend quiet time from which to venture out to the area.
Amy J. Aug 2017
This house has some charm however I would not stay here again. First of all, I was informed AFTER I paid in full that the upstairs was off limits although the photos and house description indicate that there are two twin beds and my kids were really looking forward to having the loft to themselves (as were my husband and I). This was extremely disappointing and false advertising. I am tempted to pursue a partial refund due to this. The space available downstairs really only comfortably accommodates two people. It was very cozy but we made due.
The kitchen was almost unusable. We used this mostly as a drink station because any trace of food and a flood of sugar ants invaded the entire area. We did not cook any meals at the house because of this, and there was no BBQ so this was not an option either.
There were cobwebs in several of the corners and the backyard is very difficult to access so we did not use it at all. There is virtually no storage, and no closets so pack light if you stay here or plan on using most of the living room for your suitcases.
Good things included plenty of towels and linens, a well stocked kitchen (plates, utensils, pots, pans, etc.) and a lot of games for the kids. It is also in a great location near the "downtown" of Gearhart.
Manager response:
The upstairs was closed due to a city ordinance that was announced only a few days before this arrival, so a sofa bed was added on the main floor. We wish they would have called us to report the ants. The property manager would have come to resolve. Thank you.
Brenna C. Jun 2017
Loved the location of the house. Perfect for small families. Comfortable, quiet and great kitchen area.
Michelle B. May 2017
Perfect place to stay when you want to be close to all the action but not have to be in the middle of it!
Michelle O. May 2017
Perfect location! Walking distance to the beach, local shops and restaurants. Literally 50 feet from the golf course for all you golfers out there. Room for a small family in the house. The bed and couch were very comfortable. Cute little fenced backyard too!
Rebekah W. May 2017
The house is in a quite little neighborhood that isn't too far out of the way. Inside is quite comfortable and cozy. The fireplace was lovely amd heated the house quickly once we returned in the evening. It was nice having a washer and dryer setup. We had a wonderful time staying at this house.
Tim R. May 2017
We liked the cabin for the most part. The location was great, a nice bakery down the street for morning pastries.

We just ran into 2 semi-related issues. The primary heat source is a gas-wood stove. We had our 1 year old so had to barricade all sorts of things to keep her from crawling up to the wood stove. Just fine for older kids, but small kids is tough. Also, the wood stove is in the living area and there didn't appear to be any auxiliary heat source in the bedroom, which meant the bedroom got super cold over night with the door closed.
Jessica W. Mar 2017
This was a great Escape for the weekend. Great location. The house smelled of a woodstove when we walked in the door. The wood walls made a nice cabin feel along with the crackling gas woodstove which was lit upon our arrival. The cabinets were stocked with more than the usual rentals, as well as additional linens provided. The couch was comfy, the house clean and tidy. The large windows gave view to the golf course across the street, and the deck large enough to sit out and gasp upon the stars. The only amenity I would suggest is to add a gas bbq or a fire pit in the back yard. The kitchen could stand a larger size frying pan, or a griddle would be better yet. The baby gate was nice and needed if you bring small children as the stairs are steep. We will be visiting this home again. Thank you for having us!
Jamie K. Mar 2017
Loved this relaxing getaway spot. Though I do not golf, I enjoyed the easy access to local beaches and the ease of walking or driving up to them (when it is storming). The cafe and bakery in town was awesome and Gearhart is in easy proximity to Seaside and Cannon Beach.

This property was overall acceptable. My only issue was more personal as I have a rather intense dust allergy. I am probably more sensitive because I take extra steps to avoid overexposure in my own household. Either way the comforters and the bedroom upstairs were especially dusty and being in the house itself burned my eyes fairly intensely. I suppose this just got me to go outside and get fresh air more often. The stairs are fairly steep, watch your toddlers especially close but these stairs are a very enticing climb.
Dylan B. Feb 2017
A charming place in a charming location. Walking distance to the golf course and a close commute to the beach and McMenamins Gearhart.
Natalie H. Jan 2017
This is a great, cozy home. It's walking distance to the golf course and town, which is very cute. The house has a super small kitchen, which is great for one or two people who aren't planning too many big or elaborate dinners. The staircase is super steep, so I wouldn't recommend small children. The house is really comfortable, and was perfect for a girls' weekend!
Mary-Pat L. Jan 2017
Lovely place to stay, comfortable and close to a beautiful beach that is great for running or walking. Amazing to see 2 eagles on the beach hunting for snacks. They came back 3 days in a row. Sooo cool!
Anya K. Aug 2016
My husband and I only stayed for a few days, but our experience was overall, pretty great! It's very conveniently placed right outside of Seaside, OR and only a couple minute drive from the beach. Atmosphere and convenience made our stay very fun but also relaxing. A couple appliances didn't work when we were there, but we were only there for a few days. If you're planning a longer stay, maybe check to see if everything is up and running or at least operational.

Overall, a very sweet and fun experience. :)
Brian H. Aug 2016
Great location. Property is really best for a couple. The steps to get upstairs are very steep!!!
Ryan G. Aug 2016
Cute little A-Frame in a beautiful part of the world!
Laurie U. Jul 2016
This A-frame was the perfect getaway for our family of four. It had everything we needed to make our stay special. Our dog Emma was very happy too! It was a very doable walk to the beach and the beach there was very private. Highlight of our trip was a Bonfire in the beach. So much fun!
Jeremy G. Jul 2016
Crystal C. Apr 2016
Place was fine. Beds were very uncomfortable for me, but everyone is differnet. Cute little town.
Khalsa J. Apr 2016
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was close to the beach and a cute restaurant/grocery store. Also, it isn't far from Seaside if you want to visit the shops there. We liked that it was quiet, an relaxing and we could bring a dog.
Heidi S. Apr 2016
Great location. Place was very comfortable.
Margi F. Mar 2016
My husband and I had a great time relaxing in Gearhart with our little pup. We would happily come back!
Autumn C. Mar 2016
Cozy cabin in quiet location-short walk to beach.
Michelle H. Mar 2016
Great cozy spot!
Lana B. Feb 2016
We stayed in this A-Frame during the end of January for two nights and absolutely loved it! It's an extremely cozy set up with games, bedding, and all utensils/dinnerware you'll need. It's a mere few blocks from the ocean with easy access to the beach area.

There is a TV with some cable channels but we didn't use the TV much. Some games are supplied and the house was very clean when we arrived. We loved the layout of this house and would recommend!
