My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. We had our daughter and grandkids with us and the property was perfect for all of us. It was exceptionally clean, probably the cleanest of any rental property I’ve stayed at. It had everything we needed and when we had a problem with the microwave working the manager was quick to bring a new one. The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside or in the hot tub. We hope to return during the skimmer months. Great property!
Hot tub & fireplace were perfect to keep warm and cozy! Drive time to cosmic tubing wasn't bad at all!
Definitely has an old cabin vibe going on. There’s bear decorations everywhere. My son loved all the books and toys. Only bummer was the bunk beds (kids room) is downstairs at the opposite side of the house away from the other rooms. So it was not ideal for my 4 year old son to sleep in alone. Would be better for bigger kids.
This cabin is tucked away among the trees, and because of the recent storm that downed a power line, the creek was a soothing sound to fall asleep to. We loved the hot tub and we’ll appointed kitchen as well as the fun trail through the trees down to the creek. It was perfect for a girl’s weekend after we got past the lack of power, firewood, and flashlights.
Thank you for choosing us for your getaway, Angela. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay despite the temporary power outage, and we apologize sincerely that the home was not properly stocked with a starter bundle of firewood. We appreciate you contacting us for assistance, and look forward to having the opportunity to host you again in the future for a truly relaxing stay!
Our family of four loved the private, wooded setting for this family-sized cabin. We enjoyed the multiple, comfortable seating areas by reading, playing cards and watching movies. The hot tub was a wonderful 103 degrees on our 2nd night there, though the temperature controls were not very user-friendly so it was only lukewarm for our 1st and 3rd nights there. The back deck is fabulous, with lots of seating and a BBQ and hot tub. I wish we had been able to stay longer!
The creek, the beautiful trail along the creek, the hot tub, the relaxing deck, bbq, the bear/wildlife decor, the well appointed kitchen, comfy bedrooms, kids area and cute kids bedroom. And very clean!!
We really enjoyed our time here, the location was great, close enough to things but also felt private. We absolutely loved falling asleep to the noise from the creek at night. Such a cozy spot with lots of thoughtful touches throughout and very comfortable! The hot tub jets didn't work and it took some time to come to temp but we were still able to enjoy it.
Hello, thank you for your feedback! Please know we have staff ready and available 24-hours a day to assist our guests. We hope you will be happy to hear that the hot tub is working correctly now! We apologize for the inconvenience and hope we can host you again!
We loved this place! The decor might be a little (charmingly) dated, but it had all the amenities we might need for a quiet retreat. The creek burbling just outside was far more than we could have dreamed of.
We had a very enjoyable visit while in the area for a family wedding. Barlow is a special cabin in a special place. Very comfortable & cozy, great kitchen, fireplace, patio & hot tub. Surrounded by trees & the river flowing very close by. We’ll stocked in all areas - games, DVD’s, cable TV, kitchen, bathrooms. WiFi & phone service spotty. Close to some nice restaurants, grocery store & gas. My Hood Village close by & Timberline Lodge about a half hour up the road. Loved our family time there!
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It is a good choice for large family well laid out accommodations.
We meet our kids from Washington here and can’t begin to tell everyone about this place. It was a great visit. Only down side was the hot tub. Otherwise perfect!
This is a really lovely little cabin. It has a charming vibe, with a big fieldstone fireplace, nicely proportioned rooms, and classic, slightly kitschy (in a delightful way) cabin decor. It’s situated on a sloped lot, right on the river and with heavy tree coverage, so while it’s close to the road, it has a quiet and secluded feel. It was also very clean (though the cleaning service was still there when we arrived at 4:00 to check in, and was there for another half an hour while we waited in the car for them to finish), with no issues with dinginess like some older reviews have noted.
The primary bedroom was very comfortable, with a firm mattress and a sweet little sunroom (though no en suite washroom). It was only my partner and me, so I can’t speak to the comfort of the other bedrooms, though they seemed to maintain a comfortable temperature and were well furnished. It does have a nice layout for a midsized group, with a couple of different common spaces and a decent amount of parking.
The kitchen was better than one typically finds in a rental, and the pots/pans/etc. were totally serviceable. I brought my own Dutch oven, and if I had known, I would have brought some properly sharp knives (the ones in the kitchen were outrageously dull). It’s not equipped for a serious cook, but most rentals are not, and it was still bright and spacious and nice enough to cook some good meals. The washer and dryer were new-ish and functioned well.
The hot tub was a little finicky, but ended up working reasonably well. The internet was quite slow; we wanted to watch movies in the evening after it was dark, and Netflix was a total nonstarter. They had some DVDs, so we weren’t totally out of luck, but the ISP in this area offers much better plans without charging too much more, so I would recommend they consider upgrading the plan (for example, I couldn’t rent this place and work remotely for a week with the current bandwidth, though I’d love to do it if the internet were better).
All in all, this was a nice rental for my partner and I to get out of the city for a few days and just chill. I would absolutely do it again (though I might pack more kitchen equipment next time), and I recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, nicely appointed place less than ninety minutes from Portland.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us, Leslie! It was a pleasure hosting you and we are glad you had a good stay and enjoyed the decor and location of our cabin. We apologize for the issues you encountered and we confirm that new knives are being ordered. Free WiFi is provided, but please be aware that connection can sometimes be spotty due to this rental's remote location. We appreciate your feedback and hope we can host you again soon!
This house has an amazing feeling from the moment you walk in. The woodland decorations are sure to be a hit for all. My children were especially drawn to the stuffed animals found in the downstairs bedroom and lovingly cuddled them until they had to hug each one goodbye. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
The home was nice overall, mainly clean and remote mostly. The biggest issues we had wore with the hot tub, first night it was at 104, nice and all, than same night later it was at 100, by next day it was down to 94 and than even got down to 90. So unusable. Tried adjusting temp with no luck. Tried calling owner for help, phone in cabin doesn’t work. No cell service all though that’s what we wanted. Cocking pots and pans, old and dirty if you choose to rent a property I would recommend you bringing your own. There was also a pretty large stain on the carpet in upper level tv room by fire place. Beds clean, floor clean, no odor in the home. Nice place for a family minus few things.
Thank you for your review, Aleksandra! The hot tub is a little finicky but is working; we apologize if it gave you any grief. We have verified the phone in the cabin does work, or guests can drive approximately two miles away for cell service. The carpet has been replaced, and we have spoken with housekeeping about the pots and pans. We hope to see you again!
Hot tub didn't work and was DIRTY, burn marks everywhere on the carpet, wifi connection sucked. But if you need a quiet place to stay cozy inside and have a river near bye. This will do
Hi, Kyle! We appreciate your feedback and are so glad you stayed with us. The carpet has been repaired, and the WiFi can be spotty sometimes due to its location. The owner has since upgraded the wifi to the fastest service on the mountain. The hot tub is regularly cleaned and refilled and does a day or so to reach temperature. Thank you!
A great house for families! Tons of space, nice thick carpets for a newly crawling baby, and plenty of kids' games and toys made this a really nice getaway for us. Short hikes (like at Wildwood or Barlow Wayside) were only 5-10 minutes away, and we also enjoyed the tiny riverside trail and water access on the property. The hot tub was incredibly clean, as was the house, and overall this was a great destination for being in the woods yet spending a fair amount of time indoors.
The house was perfectly laid out for the kids to enjoy themselves downstairs and the adults to have some peace upstairs. Super well equipped kitchen and ample deck space for a large group to hang out together. In the warmer months the creekside small deck for reading was a delight with the sound of the creek relaxing you as you read or just watch the water flow by.
Being surrounded by nature enough to embrace a soothingly calm atmosphere of the outdoors, it allows a connection with nature. The river running alongside the property is relaxing at all hours and the hot tub at night allows a rejuvenating soak under the stars far from city lights.
Charming house design bringing home and nature lodge together with fun games and entertainment indoors and located near many outdoor locations for a fun day.
Very relaxing, private setting. Good for families.
We loved that it was secluded and a perfect getaway to avoid people. The house was perfect for kids.. Only downfall was the hot tub was not working right it kept overheating going up to 109 so we couldn’t use it much and there was someone else’s dirty towels left on the deck which showed me it wasn’t cleaned to well...
Spacious, really nice, & very nice heater & AC.
This house was beautiful. It’s the perfect stay for a getaway away from the city. I would definitely recommend!
Spent spring break here, and it was a great respite from the world. Clearly a cherished family home, with lots of wonderful touches and lots of room.
We loved this property along with all the amenities it offers. The property is just breathtaking. The sound of the roaring creek was exactly what we were hoping for in a wooded cabin. Kitchen was spacious and the deck area off the kitchen was absolutely wonderful. Hot tub was very private (unlike many that we've seen that have a neighbors window looking at it) and the non-slip decking used was a nice touch. Decorations were fun and added to the wooded cabin feeling. Will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future.
This house is in a beautiful forested setting by the river and conveniently located to the mountain. THe downstairs area is perfect for kids to sleep and play. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. THere were lots of games and movies. The only problem was that the hot tub wasn't working quite right and therefore we weren't able to use it when we wanted to. Other than that, we'd be happy to return to this home in the future.
We apologize there were issues with the hot tub. Our local management team is aware and is currently working to get this corrected. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustrations this caused during your stay. We do hope you will allow us to host you again in the future.
Cottage well maintained and location perfect
Folks if you have small children, or 5 women in there mid 30s this is the place for you. My friends and I want to get away from the city, technology and just relax. This place was perfect! Close to lake trillium, the grocery store and hiking.
At one point we decided to count all of the Bear decor in the cabin and in total we counted 455 bears. (We did not count bear paws as a whole Bear. The bears had to have a head to be in the grave count.)
Also, a lovely stream and hot tub!
The moment we walked in you could just feel the peacefulness. We just loved it, we can't wait to come back again. The only downside is we didn't make our stay long enough.
We completed a 2-week Oregon adventure with 4 nights here. The house proved plenty spacious for our family of 5. We took advantage of its location to hike several nearby trails, visit Timberline Lodge, and even trek over to Multnomah Falls (an hour distant). Highly recommended!
My husband and I, along with our three little kiddos, loved this place! Great location for visiting the Mt Hood Adventure Park in the summer. The home sits right next to a picturesque creek and has picnic benches nearby to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Our kids loved all of the toys and kids books and games and stuffed animals as well as the bunk beds. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Spacious property next to the creek was a great getaway for the week. The babbling creek next to the house was a soothing sound day and night. Great access to amazing hikes as well.
House was spacious and comfortable,
What a great stay! Large home with multiple hang out areas. Hot tub, fire pit and a short private trail directly behind the home. Perfect!
There are a lot of pluses to this home: Clear Creek is the perfect white noise to compensate for the nearby roads, there is a sweet path that leads several hundred yards to a very private and beautiful spot on the creek, the hot tub is crystal clear and in an ideal spot on the deck, and the house is large and clean. There are a few downsides: while the neighbors are really pretty well screened by trees and creek, there happened to be a massive all-weekend-party at the place across the creek our weekend, but that was just bad luck, I imagine; the lay-out of the place is very counter-intuitive and made me realize, "Ah, this is why architects have a job!"; and the style is rather kitschy and might have been a little un-bear-able for a longer stay. All in all, though - a good time was had by all.
Peaceful and quiet and very clean
The Barlow Creekside Lodge was exactly what we had hoped for. Clean, cozy, woodsy and spacious. Listening to the creek was lovely and the hot tub was enjoyed. The home is very convenient located to hwy 26 and some restaurants, store and ranger station. Short drive to Govt. Camp and about 30 minutes to Meadows. The home was nicely equipped for cooking and the maid service supplied just the right amount of cleaning supplies, toiletries and paper supplies. The internet was a tad spotty but we managed. We would stay again!
We had a wonderful stay here! Like others have stated in the reviews, the pictures don't do this place justice. It has all the amenities you need, and the toys, legos and books were a plus for the kids. We loved the privacy, peace and quiet. Was so relaxing and refreshing!!
We rented a cabin through Vacasa for a weekend. The fees were reasonable, the place was clean, everything worked properly, and we loved the atmosphere. We will rent again
This home was amazingly clean and a fantastic base for exploring the area. There are many wonderful hikes right nearby. The home is stocked with an ample selection of puzzles, games and Legos. This kept the kids busy during down times. We can't wait to return next summer.
Cozy cabin with everything needed for a lovely family vacation. Clean, comfortable and lots of room. Totally appreciated the jacuzzi, bbq and games! We will definitely be back when we come back to OR!
Beautiful setting with a well maintained cottage.
This home was beautiful and comfortable! love sitting on the back porch listening to the creek while having my coffee or glass of wine! Could not find fire pit but did find a beautiful trail that led to the creek where we got some great pictures! my only suggestion if you are a light sleeper sleep in the back room as there is a big flood light out the front and it shines in the window. Would definitely come back to stay!!!
This home has all the necessary comforts in a quiet secluded location. There was plenty of space, lots of family activities at the site, close proximity to outdoor activities near Mt. Hood. All the appliances worked fine. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
I have lived in Oregon my whole life. It is so nice to drive 40 minutes and be away from it all. This was a girls trip that was 20 plus years in the making. We had a great time. We did absolutely nothing and it was wonderful. It is a nice place to do nothing and unplug. Beds are good but a little firm. The kitchen is fully equipped. Just bring some food and coffee and you are good to go.
The house was well equipped and clean. When I needed extra gas for BBQ and had some questions, the local person, Kevin, came right over and took care of everything. Great experience.
It was wonderful for adults as we as kids
Our family was very comfortable and the Home had more amenities then the website listed. Very pleased with the home. We will return soon.
We stayed a couple of days at the end of July. Just for of us, mom dad and 2 boys, 7 and 14. Had an awesome time. The house is great and didn't lack anything. There's a little creek and path in the woods. Our boys had a lot of fun. We did Mount Hood, The Gorge and the fruit loop. We definitely plan to go back some day because we haven't seen it all. Would be happy if we are able to stay in this house again
We loved this rental. The hot tub is private and relaxing. The BBQ was clean and full of fuel. Furnishings are comfortable. The location is very quiet and relaxing - you can only hear the creak at night. The location is great since it is really close to everything including the golf course at the Resort at the Mountain. We loved our stay and would certainly come back.
This house is in such an awesome location! The creek is beautiful, the woods are beautiful, and it's located perfectly to go explore around Mount Hood!
The house is a little smaller and older than I may have expected from the photos, but it was still a wonderful place to stay and perfectly clean :)
If we are heading this way again we would definitely stay here again!
Nice bedding, plenty of room. Loved the private hot tub. Beautiful surroundings. I will be back!
Cozy and perfect for families!
Unlike many vacation rentals, this one felt like a home. The kitchen included everything you need to actually make a meal. The layout is open and rooms are large. Bedding and furniture were high quality. A library of DVDs and games meant that we didn't have to plan and pack these items for kids. Perhaps more private in winter than summer, but we would be happy to stay here again. Working with Vacasa was easy, staff friendly and overall seem to care about guests' experience
We had a great experience - loved the river and the lot/location. The place was accommodating for our family size and we had a great time. The hot tub was fun and we loved the layout. We would come back for sure and think this was a great fit for our family.
We stayed here the final weekend of our week long Oregon road trip. It was a great property to finish out the trip. The house has lots of space and is incredibly well stocked with games, toys and books. As a parent of an 8 year old and a 4 year old, I loved that the creek was easily accessible down a path without being a *too* accessible and a safety risk. The boys loved playing at the creek. Although there is another house on the other side of the creek, the property is so well covered in trees that you have a significant amount of privacy and really don't even notice the other property. Lots of decks and outdoor space. Zig Zag Inn is right across the highway with amazing pizza and Mountain Roasters is just up the highway with great lattes and chocolate chip cookies. Also enjoyed Mt Hood Brewing Company a little further up the road. It would have been nice to have a list of recommended hikes handy at the house, but I used the All Trails app and found a great hike around Trillium Lake. Ranger Station is just across the highway to buy the pass and ask any questions. Once minor glitch was that we couldn't get the interior door to the sunroom to open, but there was so much space in the house, it really wasn't an issue. Overall, a really lovely weekend and I would highly recommend the property.
I'm a big fan of efficiency, and this group has it. The location was simply gorgeous, well cared for, and ready upon arrival. The staff used e-mail as primary dialogue, but numbers were included if you wanted to speak to a live body.
The in/out process was seamless, and I like the idea of using/leaving "staples". For example, there was a bit of coffee leftover from a prior guest. In similar fashion, we left some groceries that we purchased for the next group.
I would highly recommend this team, this location, this property...you will not be disappointed!
Nice stay and close to Ski Bowl. Nice dining close by too.
My 5-year old daughter gave this place 45 stars out of 5 stars because she loved it so much! Perfect secluded house in the middle of so many places to hike/climb/swim/eat/sight-see!
Great location and set up! Worked well for several adults and kiddos.
This house made for a great getaway for us. Plenty of room and great location alongside the river. Close to all that Mount Hood has to offer as well as dining in nearby towns.
Vacsa was easy to use and the property looked and had exact;y what it said.
overall a good stay for us and the kids
Nice place. Perfect layover for a full ski weekend.
My friends and I are international college students and we decided spent two days on a trip in mt hood area. We had a really good time in this house. It looks old outside but inside of house is really clean and well decorated. My friends love the style especially those cute bears decoration. The location of this house is also very good and it has a really pretty view with rivers and forests. And It only takes 30mins drive to mt hood meadows ski resort from this house. If you are trying to plan a visit in mt hood area with family or friends, this house is highly recommended to stay.
This is a lovely cabin with a great location. The kids really enjoyed the bunk bed room and it was nice to have two separate living room areas for us to spread out. We stayed here right after Christmas when the cabin was in high demand. We were unable to use the hot tub because they "ran out" of chemicals to clean it with and it was cloudy and smelly. This was very disappointing because it was a large factor in us choosing this house. Nothing better than a hot tub in the woods after a day on the slopes... also there is no slow cooker (as stated in the kitchen appliance description) so don't bring food expecting one!
Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize that the busyness of the holiday season led to a lack of proper chemicals for hot tub use; we can understand how disappointing that must have been. The hot tub is good to go now, and we will replace the slow cooker as soon as possible.
Wonderful homey feel to this property. Very clean.accurate pictures for this listing. Family enjoyed the openness to the kitchen and living room . We had a great time.
Great location, secluded by trees, but only 1 mile from main road. Groceries and restaurants also close by.
House was as pictured and described. It was in a beautiful setting along the river. Lots of things in the area to see and do. Several nice restaurants in the area and shoppping.
The home was cozy and comfortable once heat got fixed and house aired out. Hottub and river lovely. Vacasa very helpful and repairman super nice. Decor cute.
House was clean, basement was a great space for teenagers (or younger kids). It was more private than we expected which was nice. Very well stocked with amenities. We had no cell service at the house, but they had wireless internet which we had no problems with. Grocery store was a short easy drive away. Liked the proximity to a ranger station which provided us with info on awesome trails/waterfalls we never would have known about - there are trails to falls about 5 miles down Lolo Pass that we loved (sorry don't remember the name).
We were pleased with the location and facilities of the place. It is convenient to the main road but we were not bothered by road noise. The stream in the back is lovely and we enjoyed eating outside. Also loved the hot tub. The house is clean and well equipped. We were able to buy groceries and cook our meals in the kitchen. The Mt. Hood area is wonderful for hiking. Great experience for the five of us.
Our only complaint was that it was a little warm and stuffy in the living room after a hot day. There was also a musty smell in the sunroom off the master bedroom and in the lower level. Otherwise, great place.
The stream near the house is great. Very suitable for hikers who like moderate to difficult hikes of all ages. House was cozy, Basement was cool always. House is surrounded by trees so was great in the summer.
Great place to take the family. Relaxing, peaceful surroundings, lots of games and movies for the kids. Cute bunk beds and nice and cool downstairs! Very impressive master bedroom with big poster bed with ceiling fan. Went here with 3 girlfriends and had a blast relaxing in the hot tub and eating at the picnic bench down by the river. I would vacation in this home again and would recommend it for singles or family.
The place is awesome, really good for those who wants to get out of the city and relax have a good time with family and/or friends. Th e sound of the river its awesome make you feel like you are inside the forest. The house is pretty nice furnished , all in good style. The hot tube outside works pretty good. I totally recommend this place, Im planning on coming back already.
We had a great time with 5 boys in the house, ages 8-16, including a French exchange student. They enjoyed the bunk beds and the games that were included with the house, as well as the hot tub. It was a nice space that offered good gathering areas as well as separation of space since the kids had their own floor. The creek rushing by and the large, old trees made us feel like we were so close to Oregon's natural wonders. A fun time was had by all in the charming home.
We were lucky to stay in this cozy house on a weekend that saw almost a foot of snow. It was great to have a wood-burning stove and nice cozy beds to sleep in after a long day of skiing. While a bit finicky in terms of temperature, we had tons of fun in the hot tub as well!
Charming home in wooded area next to river. Comfortable beds, close to grocery shopping, skiing, and hiking trails. Stocked with lots of towels, soaps, pillows and blankets. A few things needed fixing but overall a lovely place to stay !
Thanks for sharing your experience and feedback with us. We will take a look at the home and make sure everything is fixed and ready for our next guests!
We enjoyed our stay in the Barlow-Trail home. Everything inside and out exuded charm. The house is surrounded by a lovely wrap around deck overlooking Clear Creek. Inside the beds are comfortable, there's a supply of board games as well as maps of the area if you feel like exploring. The house was a perfect fit for our annual "cousins camp" adventure. The ammenities; dishwasher, washer, dryer, wifi, etc. were an added bonus. The staff at Vacasa was informative and helpful. Overall we had a wonderful experience.
We are so happy to hear that you had a great time and enjoyed the amenities. We hope to see you again soon!
Very beautiful setting, away from the highway and with plenty of privacy. Charming house and decor. We were especially impressed with the amenities: lots of towels, hygiene products, kitchen supplies. And the hot tub was heated and ready to go when we arrived! All of our party (kids and adults) had a great time.
Great Spot...Snow Boarding and the wood stove made this a perfect adventure:-)
We are glad that you enjoyed yourselves!
What a wonderful, spacious facility for my husband, me, our two sons and their families. It was a pleasant Thanksgiving in a very comfortable, relaxed environment. We had challenges getting the television to work, but we did not miss it. The toys and games available for our grandchildren were great.
Thank you for the notice on the television. We have made adjustments to the set-up and the Television is now trouble free.
We were very happy with the property, overall. The size was perfect for our party. Kichen facility was good enough to stay for severl nights. we definitely would like to come back. Just for your information, I would like to point out several things we noticed:
- Drainer in the main bathroom needs to be cleaned
- Hottub cleaner was not supplied
- The lamp on the deck next to the tub was not working
- It was very hard to open the main (upstairs) bathroom door
- It was not very confy to have a carpet in the downstairs bathroom
Thank you very much for supporting our vacation.
Ideal property for two adult couples and up to 6 children. Rustic yet charming; well stocked with everything you need but your own meal basics (even has an abundant supply of spices and extras). Lot of games and activities for the whole family. Very comfortable. Had a wonderful experience. The little kids LOVED the bears (stuffed teddy bears in the house)!
