Taos Pueblo and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge are close by, and Taos Ski Valley is about 20 miles away for skiing in winter and hiking in summer.

A vehicle is recommended to explore Taos and the surrounding area; the Plaza is just under two miles away and Taos Ski Valley is about 20 miles away. In winter, AWD or 4WD is helpful for reaching the higher mountain roads toward the ski valley.

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM.
