went here for our yearly girls trip. we always pick a house on a lake and try to get one out in the woods where it is quiet and secluded. didn't show up till after 6/7pm our first night and our only issue was that there was no outdoor light to help us with navigating getting the door unlocked. would have been nice to have a motion light or something. did think unusual to have to turn the heat up and turn the water on for ourselves since the house was cleaned for us but wasn't a big deal. didn't use any of the outside grill/firepit but could see where would have been nice. did take a chair to the edge of the grass and sat watching the sun come up at 530am for a couple of hours and was very quiet and peaceful. we didn't really cook any meals in the house. just had bfast and lunch there and went out every night to try different restaurants. we also like looking for odd attractions (weird statues, odd monuments, etc) so was fun finding ones that weren't on the sites we use and getting photos. totally recommend going to the rustic roadhaus and little bohemia for supper!! korbel of made just right. if you can get lisa for a server-she is awesome!! she picked the perfect meal for 2 of us as the 3rd knew what she was getting. like that there was enough furniture in the living room to be comfy and not sitting on top of each other and that there were "adult" beds in 3 of the 4 bdrms. hard to find where 3rd isn't a twin. didn't have any issues where needed to contact hosts. liked that didn't have to clean the whole place for the cleaners. did our dishes, stripped the beds and took sheets and towels and put by washer. only issue was the upstairs bathroom. the 3 of us were unable to really use the toilet. it was positioned weird and we found we would have to turn sideways to get up. just easier to come to main floor to use that one while person staying in main bdrm used that bathroom.

It's a lovely cabin on what was a very quiet lake. We were often the only ones out there! The sunsets were also great from the dock as we listened to the loons serenade us. The location was great. We headed up to the Porcupine Mtns and several other lakes near us. The biking trails are also nearby and connect to others to provide you with a nice long ride! The cabin is secluded and private making your stay relaxing and peaceful.

Very nicely appointed cabin with many positive features. Quiet location. Some minor issues need to be addressed: better WiFi directions, better TV/Remote directions, outdoor furniture in poor repair, outdoor garbage cans are not secure, but we recommend this property highly and will gladly return next fall.

Where is Presque Isle, WI?

This tiny town is seated on the Michigan-Wisconsin border. With only 600 residents year-round and 2,000 seasonal residents who return year after year, it’s safe to say that there’s something special about Presque Isle. It’s located in the heart of Wisconsin’s Northwoods, an area home to over 3,200 lakes, streams, and rivers.

Things to do in Presque Isle, WI

The town has several nicknames, one stemming from the literal translation of the French presque-isle: “Almost an Island.” Paired with its other moniker, “Wisconsin’s Last Wilderness,” it’s no surprise that the area’s biggest attractions are its thousands of lakes. Abundant wildlife draws birdwatchers and nature lovers in the spring and summer. Hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, canoeing, boating, and swimming are all popular pastimes for visitors. Many of our Presque Isle cabin rentals feature a dock for easy water access, sunbathing, and plenty of cannonballs.

The town of Presque Isle has a laid back, friendly way of life, and you’ll find locals and tourists alike enjoying the area’s fantastic restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a pub, a coffee shop, or fine dining, Presque Isle has something for everyone. The area is home to mostly local eateries and it only adds to the charm and the feeling that you truly are “away from it all.” Stop at the Coontail Market for your kitchen staples, or to make packed lunches for canoe trips.
