We loved everything about the house. Big spacious rooms. Loved the deck to hang out on. Game room was so much fun. There were a few things we thought could be updated a little: 1) would have love to see a ramp for wheelchair access. We brought my father in law which is 90 had a little trouble getting up and down the stairs. We thought that would make it easier for people with handy cap ability to get up and down better from the house. 2) Also a lamp in the bottom bedroom would help since there wasn’t any. 3) the bathroom downstairs wasn’t flat in the floor. It rocked when you sat on it. Might just need something like caulking. 4) didn’t have a mixer but we bought one to leave for other people to use. 5) we didn’t like the access to the lake. It was a walk with all our fishing poles and tackle boxes. It wasn’t a good access for 10 people to park on the road and walk to the boat we rented. But overall everything else we liked. The grocery store wasn’t that far for us to get anything we needed.

Everything about this stay was exceptional. The long driveway entrance in is through a beautiful woods. Very private property despite neighbors on both sides of the cabin. The moment you pull up to the property you see a cozy cabin with a screened in porch. The property is large with a big side yard for family games such as cornhole. When you walk in you’ll find a charming, cozy, rustic cabin. Large dining table for family board games and meals. The rooms were great sizes. The property slept 6 of us comfortably but it could have definitely fit a couple more people. The master bedroom was one of our favorite rooms. It had lots of windows with views of the woods and a king sized bed. The one downfall would be the water is definitely hard and has a very strong iron taste and smell to it. It’s okay for showering and dishes but would recommend bringing jugs of filtered water for coffee, cooking, drinking. The kitchen has all appliances, silverware, cooking utensils needed which was a big help. Large fridge/freezer for storing groceries. The wifi also worked well and made it easy to work remotely. Free firewood was also ready for us when we arrived at the property which was very much appreciated. For swimming, it’s a sandy entrance (no rocks) which made water activities and swimming very enjoyable. Paddle boat and two kayaks are available at the property. Also, we appreciated the gas grill for cooking dinners at night! All in all, we loved our stay and would definitely come back!!!

My family of four couldn't of asked for a better trip to Arbor Vitae. The home was so cute! Everything was very clean and comfortable. The best part about this home was the location. With being right on the water, we were able to jump right in and swim! The water is clear and there is enough room to wade to check out the seashells and rocks that come to shore! The neighbors were especially friendly and the community is generally quite inviting. The views were breathtaking and I can't wait to come back! This home is perfect for a small family! Please note: there really isn't a beach so maybe not the best for toddlers...but a definite YES to school-aged kiddos who enjoy swimming!

Wisconsin lake vacations

Wisconsin lake vacationers have a multitude of options during the state’s sunny summers. In particular, the Eagle River area, surrounded by 28 lakes, has gained great popularity in recent years among travelers and retirees alike. Snowmobiling, sledding, and cozy evenings by the fireplace define winter visits to Eagle River and its neighbors, like Three Lakes and Sayner.

If you’re traveling with kids, consider taking a trip to The Dells, near Lake Delton and dubbed the “Water Park Capital of the World.” For a unique and eclectic vibe, check out all that scenic Door County has to offer, just north of Green Bay on a peninsula in Lake Michigan.

Nature lovers and adventurous travelers should explore Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, one of Wisconsin’s greatest natural treasures. This protected area is home to sandstone caves, which turn to ice caves under the right winter conditions. Lighthouses, old growth forests, and striking cliffs await curious visitors—don’t forget your camera.

There’s so much Wisconsin beauty to explore, and the best way to do it is from the comfort of a cabin or vacation rental. Book today and let the adventure begin.
