Recent Lopez Island vacation rental reviews

The view of the bay is so relaxing. Watched eagles and geese every morning. Nice location close to the village.

We stayed at this lovely home for almost a week. The views were amazing, the house super comfortable, and kitchen well equipped! The location is perfect for exploring Lopez. Each day we walked on the beach at low tide - saw Otters and Seals and so many birds! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Loved the location. Close to everything. Enjoyed the waterfront. It was nice and quiet, no traffic.

Getting to Lopez Island

Lopez Island lies about 80 miles north of Seattle and is the first stop in the 45-minute ferry ride beginning in Anacortes, WA on the U.S. mainland. If you're lucky enough to arrive in your own boat, you'll have your choice of marinas in Fisherman Bay, at Spencer Spit State Park, and Odlin County Park.

Things to do on Lopez Island

Are you an outdoor enthusiast? You'll feel right at home here! For cyclists, Lopez Island is a dream-come-true, and the truly ambitious can take the 30-mile loop around the island that will take you, among other places, through Spencer Spit Park, Odlin Park, and MacKaye Harbor. Hikers will relish the 45 acres of day trails in Shark Reef Sanctuary, with trails through old growth woods and along scenic coastal vistas. Along the way, don't be surprised if you see deer, foxes, eagles, harbor seals, river otters, and endangered orca whales! There are lots of public beaches and trails that lead to the waterfront. Much of Lopez Island's natural beauty is protected in parks like Agate Beach, Shark Reef Park, and Upright Head.

The commercial and cultural center of the island is Lopez Village where you'll find shops, restaurants, cafes, and galleries along the bay. Have lunch at the picnic area near Lopez Village Park. Choose from six eateries on the island. There are weekend farmers' markets and artisan events. Two events stand out in the island's calendar: In April there's the bike tour around the island, and beginning after Thanksgiving, the Winter Village is a holiday celebration including an array of lights and decorations. Like its neighbor, Orcas Island to the north, Lopez Island is sandwiched between Vancouver, B.C. to the west, Washington State to the east, the Strait of Georgia to the north, and the Strait of San Juan de Fuca to the south.

Although the journey here will include a plane ride or a trip on a Washington State Ferry, once you arrive at your relaxing Lopez Island vacation rentals, you will be rewarded greatly for your extra effort! Book your vacation today.
