It was quiet and peaceful. However, there was no internet, we could not find the modem. It got chilly. The only heat we could get to work was the small portable heater, The fireplace was for show, we did not build a large fire fire so no heat. We would return though sometime.

Where Is Greenbank, WA?

Our Greenback rentals are located on the south side of Whidbey Island, 45 miles north of Seattle. If you’re traveling from the north, you can drive down Highway 20 through Deception Pass, but otherwise, be prepared to take a scenic Puget Sound ferry ride to your new vacation rental! You’re guaranteed to have some glorious photo ops on the way.

Things to Do in Greenbank, WA

During your stay in one of our Greenbank rentals, you’ll never run out of fun things to do! Stop by the Greenbank Store, where you’ll find a small grocery store, deli, and post office. If you get hungry and don't feel like cooking, you can even have a bite to eat in Greenbank Grille upstairs, which serves traditional American food in a homey setting.

Who doesn’t love wine tasting, cheese, and pies? Greenbank Farm, just north of town, has it all! Visit for the day, sampling an excellent selection of Washington State wines (including many local Whidbey Island wines) or dive into a seasonal pie at Whidbey Pies Cafe.

Cheese connoisseurs will get to have a taste of the best in the area at Greenbank Farm Cheese and Specialties, where you can also pick up a variety of great gifts for friends and family back home, including painted dishes, various jams, and more! In the evening, make sure to walk up to the top of the hill for a beautiful sunset, made complete with stunning views of the water on both sides of the island.

Deception Pass State Park

If you have a free day set aside for exploring, hop on the highway and head north to Deception Pass State Park. Only about 30 miles away from our Greenbank rentals, the park features miles of trails, bountiful wildlife, and views from the 180-foot-tall Deception Pass Bridge, one of Washington State’s most popular landmarks. With beautiful views of rushing waters and evergreen trees, and enveloped by mysterious fog, this is a popular photo spot for a very good reason, so don’t forget your camera!

Daytrips from Greenbank, WA

Drive just 16 miles south to the town of Clinton, where you can hop on the ferry to Mukilteo. One of the homes of mega-company Boeing, aviation lovers will be able to take a tour during the day and still have time to find a charming cafe for lunch later.

From your Greenbank lodging, you’ll also be close to the seaside town of Port Townsend on Washington State’s gorgeous Olympic Peninsula. Take the Port Townsend-Coupeville ferry to this cute town, where you can explore vintage shops and try new restaurants.
