Recent Rockport vacation rental reviews

My 13 and 14 year olds stayed here with me (their mom) and their grandfather. It was the best house I've ever rented, and I've rented quite a few! My kids love fishing, so the backyard fishing dock was absolutely perfect. It gave me an opportunity to relax on the back patio or inside reading while they were having a blast fishing. It was SO quiet. This is NOT the place to throw a party or stay up late being loud in the backyard. It's a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, which was exactly what I wanted. The Rockport beach is about a 12 min. drive, and the H-E-B is about the same. The house was so clean that I thought it was brand new. The beds were all comfortable, as was the seating in the living room. I can't review the TVs as we didn't turn them on the entire four nights we were there (a miracle!!!). The fishing: my kids caught lots of little Black Drum (one keeper), two flounder (both keepers), a few Toadfish, a baby hardhead/catfish, and possibly others I'm forgetting. He was using thawed frozen shrimp along with some squid and mullet, but he had the most success with the shrimp. One thing to note is that it is shallow water (about 5' deep, we think) with lots of grass/reeds. We also saw a dolphin swimming through the middle of the Salt Lake one morning! I sincerely can't wait to get back here, and neither can my kids!!!
