Recent South Haven vacation rental reviews

The home and surrounding area were beautiful. We were there in October and the leaves changing color were spectacular. Over all the home and amenities were top notch. Only issue was the sulfur smell of the water. Location of the home is perfect for wineries, shopping, the beach, etc. Great stay and great fun.

Kitchen and bathrooms were set up very well. Beds were clean and comfortable, one firm mattress, one soft, and one in between. Nice neighborhood. You will most likely be driving to the beach and downtown but it's not far. I would like to thank the owner for allowing dogs as it seems there have been rude guests who left large stains on the floor which could have soured them on pets. The big picture window was amazing, I would stay again.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home! Stocked with everything we could possibly think of! Beautiful view, great deck, fire pit, and bonus - pickleball!!! 9 friends - we had a wonderful time!!

Where is South Haven, MI?

This port city rests where the Black River meets the vast waters of Lake Michigan. It’s tucked in the southwestern corner of the state, in the heart of Michigan’s wine country, where you’ll find many charming rural towns boasting local color. Saugatuck and Douglas, with their bustling arts and food scenes, are just a 20-minute drive north.

Things to do in South Haven, MI

It may come as no surprise that the abundant water activities are a big draw to our South Haven vacation rentals. There’s something for every interest, from a day adventuring in your kayak rental to strolling along the beach with someone special.

Spend an afternoon exploring the shores of Lake Michigan at North Beach, a park open year-round where you can lounge on the sand and splash through the waves in the summertime. Cooler months mean a more tranquil beach experience and peaceful sunset views.

No matter the time of year, you’ll have views of the beloved South Haven Light. Built in 1903, this lighthouse is a fixture of the community around our South Haven cabins. When the weather is right, you can walk along the pier to admire it up close. During stormy weather, the waves crashing against it are a sight to behold from the shore, and in the winter the frozen lake water leads to incredible ice formations on the lighthouse. No matter the season, a trip to the South Haven Light is a must.

If you just can’t get enough of the lake while visiting your South Haven beach rental, the Michigan Maritime Museum is a must. Not only are there interesting exhibits on South Haven’s history as a port city, but you can hop aboard a number of boat rides, from replicas of 1800s sloop ships to modern day yachts, for a day cruising the seemingly endless waters of Lake Michigan.

Our South Haven vacation rentals offer everything you need to experience this charming city and the surrounding areas of Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, and beyond. Browse our homes today and start planning your next trip to beautiful Lake Michigan.
