Recent Humboldt County - California vacation rental reviews

The cabin was very clean and it had everything we needed for our 5 day summer trip with our 6 years old and 10 years old. Our kids loved the loft to hang out and to sleep. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin and it was totally functional. The black sand beach was only few minutes away and it was so beautiful and quiet. We had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Nice studio apartment connected to a home in a residential neighborhood. ~40 minute scenic drive up 101 to Prairie Creek Redwoods. It had everything we needed and made our time at the Redwood parks comfortable and pleasant.

The house was very clean when we arrived. It was perfect for my daughter and I for our visit to the Redwoods. Being from Louisiana I was a little concerned that there was not an air conditioner, but the weather was perfect enough to just open the windows and let the bay breeze in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We even got a little peek at a sea otter swimming in the marina. The house is in a convenient location with attractions just north and south of Eureka.

    Where is Humboldt County, CA?

Spanning 4,050 square miles along the Northern California Coast, Humboldt County is beloved for its beautiful landscape. Rainy, misty weather for much of the year has allowed its iconic redwood trees and ferns to flourish. While this is enough of a draw for many travelers, the towns and cities within Humboldt County are certainly worth the visit for their ornate 19th-century homes and quirky feel.

Things to do in Humboldt County, CA

Perhaps it's the proximity to giant redwoods that have you interested in our Humboldt County cabins. Whether you want to admire these incredible trees—some of the oldest in the world—from a scenic drive or along a gorgeous hike, there are plenty of options.

The Avenue of the Giants is a famous 31-mile stretch of highway that runs parallel to the Highway 101 (in fact, it used to be a part of said highway.) It’s one of the most famous drives in the world and offers beautiful views of the forests. Along this gently curving road you’ll also find picnic tables and access points to the Eel River, so be sure to pack a lunch to enjoy in the shade.

If you’re searching for a more up close and personal interaction with these giants, there are seemingly endless hiking options near our Humboldt County vacation rentals. For an easy stroll, Cathedral Trees Trail is just under a mile and a half, and leads to some of the largest trees in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Or you can visit the aptly named Fern Canyon Trail, where you’ll be framed by lush green as you explore canyons surrounded by trees.

When it’s time to see the ocean, you’ll find no shortage of options from your Humboldt County cabin. From Eureka to Trinidad to McKinleyville, there are a number of homes near the area’s beloved coastline. Walk along Agate Beach as you search for its namesake semi-precious stones, watch for migrating gray whales at High Bluff Beach, kayak the coastline at Trinidad State Beach—however you choose to experience it, the coastline near our Humboldt County vacation rentals will be an unforgettable addition to your getaway.

While there’s a lot to love about Southern California’s bustling cities, palm trees, theme parks, and warm breezes, the Northern California Coast is a world of its own. If you’re ready to escape to charming towns dotted along the Pacific Ocean, and surrounded by misty mammoth trees, then take a look at our Humboldt County vacation rentals.
