House

Our entire experience here has been fantastic — this beautiful, sizable home is furnished with incredibly comfortable beds — more King-sized beds than many of the larger homes on AirBNB. With three levels, there was so much room for our family to have space to spread out; the two young men in their twenties enjoyed the lower floor with its gym, large couch and big flatscreen TV (they immediately dubbed it “the man cave”), while several of us enjoyed taking turns cooking — I actually felt like a chef in that kitchen, and they have every possible machine or utensil anyone could need. The kitchen is an open concept, so you can easily carry on a conversation with those seated nearby one of the main fireplaces. The house feels so so sturdy and well-built: nothing wiggles or creaks as you walk up the stairs, and as you look around, you will notice quality in so many of the fundamental features of the place, from the fixtures in the bathrooms, to the oriental rugs on the hardwood floors, to the tasteful art on the walls. I believe the place must also be very well-insulated, because we didn’t have a problem at night with noise of any kind, even though we had eight talkative and lively people in the house. I wish we had taken the time to enjoy the outside patio and gas fireplace — we had perfect weather for it, but in the end it was just easier to stay inside. We did quite a bit of cooking, and with a King Sooper just a short drive away, that was easy. The large dining table easily sat eight people — could have accommodated even more, in fact. I also found the host responsive, thoughtful, and kind from beginning to end. Our entire group enjoyed this house — and as we are an extended family who live in different areas of the country, it felt like the perfect place to come together for our annual family gathering.
