Recent Crested Butte vacation rental reviews

My husband and I stayed in Crested Butte in October at The Lodge and had a fantastic trip. It is off season, so we had The Lodge practically to ourselves. It was base camp of sorts for long hiking days in the glorious mountains of Crested Butte. We were grateful to have a kitchenette which allowed us breakfast and even a dinner in when we first arrived. I took a liking to the heated pool and hot tub, and enjoyed a soak after our hikes and before enjoying the local restaurants in town. It was heaven! The off season rate for a room with a kitchenette was very reasonable, and I highly recommend a stay here if you are the type where you enjoy full days away from the room, enjoying all that this beautiful area has to offer. We were supposed to have a parking permit for our car, and customer service was attentive on the phone, but in the end, we never were able to attain one. Because of it being the off season, there was plenty of parking, and it never was an issue. In peak season though, this might of been a problem. Other than this, we had wonderful privacy and the run of the place to do whatever we wanted to do. Thanks for a memorable and happy trip, Vacasa!

Why Crested Butte is worth the trip

Built on a foundation of mining grit and ski-town soul, Crested Butte is fiercely independent—and proud of it. Downtown still feels like a real community, with family-run coffee shops and hand-painted storefronts lining Elk Avenue. There are no chain hotels, no luxury malls, and very little pretense, just stunning scenery and a pace that rewards being present.

At 8,885 feet above sea level, the air is crisp, and the sky often startlingly blue. Winters deliver deep snow and expert ski lines. Summers bring carpets of wildflowers and miles of open trail. In every season, the sense of space and clarity sets Crested Butte apart. That spirit extends to its vacation homes—inviting, character-filled spaces that fit the rhythm of the place.

Crested Butte vacation rentals: an overview

Whether you're planning a ski trip with friends or a summer retreat for the family, Crested Butte’s vacation rentals offer privacy, style, and location. Choose from cozy downtown cottages, contemporary homes near trailheads, or slopeside condos with views across the valley.

Many include amenities like fireplaces, hot tubs, fully stocked kitchens, and generous outdoor space to make your stay comfortable in any season.

For skiers and snowboarders, properties near the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort cut down on commute time to the lifts. In the warmer months, opt for rentals with bike storage and front-porch seating designed for mountain evenings spent unwinding beneath the stars.
