Loved Sunset Cove vacation rental! The view of Norfork was outstanding and sunsets does the name justice! The house was extremely clean and decorated and had everything you could possibly need to make you feel at home. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise and for helping us to have a peaceful relaxing weekend getaway! We can’t wait to go back!

Can’t say enough great things about this property as well as the owner. The home was very comfortable. Plenty of seating for the group of 6 staying there. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of linens/towels. Two refrigerators so plenty of space for groceries/beverages. The owner was excellent to deal with, super friendly, checked on us to make sure our stay was comfortable. Only thing I need to say is I’m sorry, I think we forgot to take the kitchen trash out when we left! We took one full bag and gathered bathroom trash and intended to take that last bag from kitchen as we left and I do not remember doing it. I’m so sorry! :) We will most definitely stay here again when we go back to the lake. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your property. We had a great time.

Plan your Henderson getaway

Henderson vacation rentals work well for travelers who want a quiet Norfork Lake base with boating, fishing, and easy access to the wider Twin Lakes region. Families, anglers, couples, and groups can plan around Norfork Lake, Robinson Point Recreation Area, Panther Bay Marina, and Fout Boat Dock, then save Blanchard Springs Caverns or Buffalo National River for a separate outing.

As you compare homes, think about whether you want to stay close to lake access, near a marina, or in a quieter setting with room for boat gear and relaxed evenings. Each home is unique, so review listing details for parking, kitchens, pet policies, WiFi, laundry, outdoor space, dock or boat access notes, and seasonal details before you book.

Things to do in Henderson

Looking for things to do in Henderson, AR? Start with Norfork Lake, then use named recreation areas, marinas, and fishing-adjacent stops to turn a general lake trip into a practical plan.

Norfork Lake

Norfork Lake is the outdoor anchor for Henderson, with forested shoreline, boating, fishing, and quiet coves shaping most lake-day plans. It’s the best starting point for first-time visitors who want to understand the area as a lake-focused Ozark stay.

Best for:

Robinson Point Recreation Area

Robinson Point Recreation Area is a lakeside access point near Henderson with direct Norfork Lake access. It’s one of the clearest named places to turn a general lake day into an actual plan.

Best for:

Panther Bay Marina

Panther Bay Marina is a Norfork Lake marina close to Henderson, giving boaters and lake-focused groups a clear starting point for time on the water. It works well when you want marina services and lake access without overcomplicating the itinerary.

Best for:

Fout Boat Dock

Fout Boat Dock is a local boat dock on Norfork Lake for visitors planning around fishing, boating, or an easy day on the water. Pair it with the broader Norfork Lake plan when you want another concrete access point near Henderson.

Norfork National Fish Hatchery

Norfork National Fish Hatchery sits below Norfork Dam and gives lake and river travelers a closer look at the trout culture tied to this part of the Ozarks. It’s a low-key outing for families, anglers, and curious visitors who want a break from the boat dock.

Where to eat in Henderson

Dining around Henderson is best handled with Mountain Home and the Twin Lakes area in mind. Henderson is a small lake base, so travelers will find the broadest mix of casual restaurants, coffee shops, pizza, barbecue, and sit-down meals in nearby Mountain Home.

If you prefer relaxed meals at your rental, check each listing for kitchen setup, dining space, outdoor seating, grill details, and parking. Features vary by home, so confirm the setup that matters most before booking.

Henderson local tips

Henderson events and seasonal highlights

Henderson’s event planning is best framed around nearby Mountain Home and Baxter County venues rather than in-town attractions. Before building a trip around a specific performance, fair, or community event, check official venue calendars for current dates and details.

Vada Sheid Performing Arts Center and Twin Lakes Playhouse can support arts and evening plans in Mountain Home. Baxter County Fairgrounds can be useful for seasonal event context when current programming is available.

Day trips from Henderson

Henderson makes a quiet lake base for regional Ozark outings that add caves, protected rivers, trout water, and local culture to a Norfork Lake stay. Plan these as separate half-day or full-day trips, and check current hours, tickets, road conditions, and access details before you go.

Blanchard Springs Caverns

Blanchard Springs Caverns is an Ozark cave system in the national forest near Mountain View, offering a completely different underground landscape from Henderson’s lake-focused recreation. It’s a marquee natural attraction for travelers who want a day beyond boating and fishing.

Buffalo National River

Buffalo National River is a National Park Service river destination known for floating, bluff scenery, and protected Ozark landscapes. Treat it as the bigger river-and-bluffs outing when you want to expand beyond Norfork Lake.

Bull Shoals-White River State Park

Bull Shoals-White River State Park is where Bull Shoals Lake and the White River meet, connecting lake recreation with one of the region’s best-known trout-fishing settings. It’s a strong regional trip for anglers and lake travelers exploring the broader Twin Lakes area.

Ozark Folk Center State Park

Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View focuses on Ozark music, crafts, and regional heritage. It adds a town-and-culture day trip to a Henderson itinerary that might otherwise be all lake and river time.
