The neighborhood:
Sugar Beach places you on a long North Kihei shoreline with room to walk, swim, and slow down. South Kihei is an easy drive for casual meals, markets, and beach time at Kamaole Beach Park III. Families like this stretch because a quiet beach day and a fuller Maui outing are equally easy to arrange.

Getting around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
