Keawakapu Beach provides another nearby option for a longer sand-and-water day, while Wailea is a short drive south for restaurants. Maui Kamaole adds tropical gardens, two pools including a heated lower pool, a spa, tennis courts, and barbecue areas. Families and couples can make each day as active or as unplanned as they like.

Getting around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
