The neighborhood:
Kamaole II sits right across the road, so this studio favors guests who would rather walk to the water than spend the day driving. The beach is good for a swim, a sandy stroll, or catching the last light, and Kamaole I is close enough to extend the walk. South Kihei Road provides nearby food, shops, and casual evening options. Back at Kihei Akahi, the two pools, tennis court, and barbecue areas give you a few more ways to enjoy the day. It is a handy location for a two-person trip built around beach time and simple pleasures.

Getting around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
