This home is very ran down and not up to the standards I have experienced from homes rented through Vacasa on prior trips. My family and I were very disappointed.
Thank you for staying with us, Ryan. We are sorry to read you were disappointed. The property manager is discussing your review with the homeowner for their consideration. Hopefully we can better impress you next time!
It was a good space for a family to share. Great location near the pool.
I loved this cabin its small but was very cozy.
We loved this little place. Not fussy. Has everything you need. Master bed comfy. Train was pretty quiet. The shower doors need repair. They leak pretty bad from under the frame. Deck has some rotting spots, one in particular I nearly fell through. Good quiet location. Some “party” stuff left over from guests before us in the yard area, old glasses, beer caps, glow sticks. Over all. Very happy with it. Needs some home repairs to really make it shine again.
We appreciate your review, Katharine! The shower doors have been repaired, and we apologize housekeeping missed cleaning up the yard for your stay. The deck is in good shape though it does need some stain; this will be addressed when possible. Thank you!
This yurt style house was a bit quirky, but we actually really enjoyed it. Our favorite was the fireplace! My husband and kids loved building a big fire every night and kept the place very cozy for us. They provided plenty of firewood. The new furniture in the living room was nice and so was the hot tub. It was working and up to temp when we arrived. The walls that don't go up to the ceiling wasn't as bad as I expected. They had fans for each bedroom that washed out any sound. The trains did not bother us at all, but if you're a very light sleeper, I suppose they might wake you. For us, the trains were not as frequent as others noted.
The kitchen was adequate. The bathroom was small and outdated and had a very small toilet and shower that leaked on to the floor.
Overall, it was good for us. If you're not expecting a brand new house, it is nice.
This is not your typical home. It's more like an extremely fancy and well equipped yurt. I'll rate it 4 stars with that in mind. Set your expectations for this place low, and you will end up having a great time, but if you come here thinking it's a home-away-from-home with all the frills, you might end up disappointed.
This place was cozy and of course the resort area with activities and the village was amazing! The beds were comfy and loved that the kitchen was stocked! Few downsides though, the hot tub barely works and there are no lights outside whatsoever so you can not see a thing. Which was dangerous getting in and out of the tub! Overall a good stay but just a few things are broken and need replacement to be a great place!
Hi, Kenny! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. We are letting the homeowner know of your concerns so they can consider improvements. Thank you!
We loved the unique yurt style nature of this home. It was comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed evening cocktails on the front deck and moon/star gazing on the back deck as well as an evening fire in the fireplace. The cul de sac was quiet and inside summer temperature was comfortable with windows open and air flow.
If you were going to camp but instead decide to rent a house, you will be happy with Juniper 12! It has sturdy walls, indoor plumbing and a kitchen. A hodgepodge of random dishes means you won’t have to bring dishes from home which is super helpful. The hot tub outback does not heat above 85 which is great if you’re looking for a place just to rinse off and get wet while watching the trains go by. There are no locks on the doors which means your teenager won’t be able to throw a fit and lock themselves in their rooms and the bathroom will swing wide open promoting much-needed conversations that your family intended to have anyway. Remember to bring your own board games and come ready to teach your kids about washing the dishes by hand. That’s a skill that simply has been lost by this generation!
When we arrived it was easy to get in with the code. The kitchen had enough items although we brought some of our own. The grill was fine. The hot tub did not seem healthy to use so we did not. The back deck has nails coming out and rotting boards. I cut my foot on a nail. We call as no bikes were in the carport like instructions stated they said to use the key in the binder. No key in the binder. We had to rent bikes. There were cob webs hanging from the ceiling and all the furniture and tv had an inch of dust. The beds were fine and linen clean. Did not like the non privacy of bedroom walls not going all the way to the ceiling. I wish I would have read prior reviews. The outlets did not work in the bathroom and other outlets all loosey goosey so chargers did not want to stay plugged in. Did not mind the train. The shower and toilet are child size. We chose the house because it looked cozy and unique. We will not go that route again. Sunriver is a beautiful place you should fix up the house so your guest will have a complete beautiful experience.
Thank you for your feedback, Jolene! We are so glad you stayed with us and appreciate your helpful feedback. The hot tub is old but completely functional. Maintenance took care of the nails and ensured the bathroom outlets are working. The bikes are for our guests and do get used heavily. We hope to see you again!
The home was very clean and the furniture and beds were comfortable, but the home is outdated and needed maintenance.
For example, the hot tub is very old and the breaker needs to be continually reset and the jets don't work at all. The grill barely worked and the refrigerator door was broken.
The home does sit next to the train tracks, but that didn't bother us. My son enjoyed watching the trains go by.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We have reached out to the company that maintains the hot tub to have them fix these issues. Our local management team has fixed the grill. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do hope we have the chance to host you again in the future.
The location was excellent the setting clean and quiet. It was a wonderful getaway
Fun get away worth the price of admission. As noted in other comments the house does back up to railroad tracks, but it adds to the charm. All the rooms open to a shared ceiling apart from the bathroom, so sound carries which limits privacy (something to keep in mind if you bring children along for the ride). Hot tub does have it issues (heavy cover, errors a few times that flipping breakers reset, some dirt probably from replacing the heavy cover, and not super strong jets), but worked well enough when needed to keep the family entertained. A bit of a retro feel all around. Nothing a deal breaker, would stay again.
The place is small but it’s super cozy and warm. Great for a weekend get away.
Fun little house, wife and kids loved it.
The outlets won’t hold a charger, 1 shower of hot water is all you get, lacks basic kitchen essentials, scary close train blows through the backyard a stones throw away, barely rideable bikes, weird design that makes privacy in bedrooms impossible since the walls don’t reach the ceiling, grill doesn’t work
Hi, Lee Ann! We appreciate your feedback and have sent maintenance to address the issues presented in your review. Thank you!
We chose this house because it was the cheapest home that came up for us that included SHARC passes and had its own hot tube. Our expectations weren't super high, so we were pleasantly surprised how much we loved this unique, yet comfortable house.
It's a well stocked home with plush carpets and the most comfortable beds I've slept in while on vacation. The temperature was in the mid-80s while we were there, and the ceiling & extra fans helped cool things off in the evening. The house has a good sized kitchen, too, with the original 70s style vibe that felt very Sunriver :-)
We loved using the hot tub while looking out through the pine trees and the starry skies. The train tracks behind the house are actually a bonus because it means no houses out back; so even though there are houses on either side, the property felt very private.
The train usually came through two or three times a night. It did wake us up, but was very soothing to fall back to sleep to.
I'd come back to this home in a heartbeat.
Needs more bikes to ride. The train isn’t bother us a bit
The location of this place was great! We spent most of our time at the village and it was less than a mile bike ride - straight shot to the village. The street was perfect, quiet and beautiful as well. The house was VERY close to the train tracks which was stated in the reviews but I didn't think it would literally be a stone's throw. A train came through twice a night and it was VERY loud. Other than that, it wasn't too disturbing. The house itself was the perfect size for our family of 5 and the beds were VERY comfy. The only thing I would say is that the kitchen could have been stocked better. There was no coffee, no oil or cooking spray of any kind. There was salt & pepper and balsamic -- so this is just a heads up to anyone staying here. We went to the store and bought cooking spray (left it for the next guests) and oil for basic cooking needs.
The home was adorable and perfect for our family get away. The only issue was it is right next to train tracks. The train would wake us up from a dead sleep unfortunately. The hot tub was great, kitchen was well stocked but the train being so close will hinder us from renting again.
The interesting house design.
Its our 3rd visit back. Always a clean, comfortable place to stay. There is a train you have to listen to early am - we sorta like that effect.
This is an older house, and kind of strange in that the entire house (other than the bathroom) has no ceilings on the individual rooms, meaning despite visual privacy barriers sounds travel a lot. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds weren’t terrible (pretty dated), and the furniture was comfortable. The train tracks are very close to the house and it’s pretty noisy when the trains pass, especially at night. The SHARC and recreation center passes were a definite bonus. It is also really nice that they include beach towels with the rental.
The location was quiet and the bedrooms looked out on green space - offering privacy. Everything was clean and the essentials were provided. The in-unit washer and dryer were so helpful to have. The oddly-shaped design however meant that the walls don't reach the ceiling - allowing each word spoken or noise made in the living area to be heard perfectly in the bedrooms.
Just the noise from the train behind the house is much at nite
We loved our stay here very much! We even thought the train was pretty awesome whizzing by us about 30 yards away while we were sitting in the hot tub in the snow. Be prepared to bring a means to start your fire if you want one when you arrive. Wood is provided, but the lighter was dead and there were no newspapers. Passes added a huge value to these properties!
Comfortable for a small family. There is no privacy as far as noise, so take that into consideration. The train will wake you up 1-2 times per night unless you are a heavy sleeper. Location is great, 1 mile to village.
We enjoyed this home, small but cozy, private hot tub is nice, but no dishwasher. Sunriver location is great for all ages!
This house was great for our family of four and 1 friend.
Cons: The house is built like a yurt and there is really no privacy, there are false walls to section off bedroom/showers/kitchen/etc. but they do not go to the top of the house so you can hear anything. We could not put the kids down and then stay up and hang out. But these were really the only Cons.
Pros: We got pass to the rec center, when we stay over in Bend we spend more time outside then in the place we rent, so this was an ideal base of operations. For the cons mentioned, they were really not that big of a deal. Hot Tub was a big plus.
This is a nice tidy property, basic but very well maintained and well located. A good place for a small group getaway.
Check in etc was easy, place easy to find and communication with Vacasa staff efficient. The home is dated but this did not bother us and we found the place as expected from the website. It has all utilities needed for a vacation and good selection of kitchen stuff. Vacasa had provided fans for the hot weather. We had a fab time and loved our stay here and at Sunriver!
My 2 boys absolutely loved the cabin feel of this home. They have already said we need to go back next year.
Loved the location! It was perfect for the activities we wanted to do! The hot tub was our favorite part of the trip! We were able to unwind and relax! The beds were comfortable as well!
The house was close to everything!
Very unique space. Warm, cozy & really different. The train really adds to the unique experience of the property in my opinion - not a bother at all.
The previous reviews are pretty representative of what to expect. Yes, it is dated and by the tracks (which I actually found soothing), but I would also consider this house a very good value. The partial height walls could be a problem for those households with dissimilar sleep schedules. I appreciated the barbecue and the hot tub which was clean and well maintained.
Most importantly, the house was clean and neat. I would stay again.
We enjoyed staying here. And will likely return. It was a great area to visit and enjoy some relaxation.
Two of my girlfriends and I stayed here for the weekend to ski at Bachelor. The location was great, the house was adorable, and we loved the private hot tub. We'll definitely be back!
This was our 3rd annual dudes weekend at Sunriver to ski bachelor. We really enjoy this house for the way it is, it is not super fancy but clean and comfortable. The deck, fireplace, hot tub, tv and carport are perfect for our style. The train is a cool sound at night. We will be back again this year for a family trip and of course will be booking this house for our 4th annual dudes trip.
We had a wonderful visit to Central Oregon and the opportunity to get the family together was awesome. We had a wonderful time. We will hopefully return next spring.
Beautiful space! I don't know a lot about Feng Shui, but I'm sure there's some of that going on here with the beautiful circular building and cool furnishings that make it feel like you're camping, with all of the comforts of home. It was in a very convenient location and quiet enough that I didn't really hear neighbors, other than a dog here or there. I also loved that it was right along the bike trails!
If you are looking for a cheaper place to stay in Sunriver, this is a good one. The architect was a little short sighted with making a house an odd (but cool) shape. The result is that the drawers closest to the wall and the one next to the refrigerator cannot open fully. You can still get what you need out of them though.
As others have mentioned--the train is right behind the house. It seemed like it ran 3-4 times a day. One or two in the morning (starting around 7am) and one or two in the evening (latest might have been around 9-10pm). They move fast so it is done after 5 minutes tops.
It is a decent proximity to both the entrance of Sunriver and the village. We didn't bother with Sharc passes as there are lots of people there and we had family with access to a more private pool in the area.
The hot tub was definitely a plus. There is a good sized patch of sky right above it for stargazing. Only bummer is that no outdoor lighting is next to you to take the cover off of the tub. The light in the hot tub was blown out/not working so we purchased a simple solar light for getting in/out and putting the top back on.
Appliances looked good/worked well. No dishwasher but this place wasn't meant for big groups either. Wireless internet was reliable.
we had a great time and enjoyed every moment.
This house was perfect for our family. The young kids loved that it looked like a UFO. The trains passing by were also a big hit. The house could use some updates and maybe walls that go all the way to the ceiling but our kids didn't care about any of that. We would stay there again!
I enjoyed my stay in this Sunriver home. It was clean and had everything I needed. One major drawback that may keep me from choosing this particular home is the train that travels by just 50 ft away from the back door and 2 different times during the night. It sure gave me a fright the first time!
Another nice stay - we like the front deck for BBQs. Close to all Sunriver fun,
This house was an open ceiling type of house. So no privacy if traveling with others.
It was a nice little house to stay in. The hot tub was dirty and the lighting in the house wasn't that great but it was perfect for what we needed it for.
Older house but perfect to come back from a ski day, lite a fire and sit in the hot tub.
Went for 2 nights with my wife and 3 kiddos (7, 3, 1 years old) - we loved it and will be back. The kids though the "circle house" was the coolest thing ever, and who doesn't like trains?! Super fun.
We love this place. Second time staying here. Price is reasonable. Great for a couple. It has an open roof inside, so privacy may be an issue for some. Hot tub is great. It's simple, very 70s. No dishwasher so keep up with that. Has BBQ and outdoor furniture. Needs some basic updating but if you don't care about that-it's perfect.
The train tracks are about 20 ft out the master bedroom....the train will freak you out the first time-but honestly it's not that bad. (louder where we are in PDX!). If you have young children or pets, watch them closely out there. Trains run at least 2-6 times a day. Monday was busier. I loved watching the trains while sitting in the hot tub.
The night sky...the stars. OMG. Awesome.
This property isn't too far from the SHARC, and Sunriver Village.
Wifi worked PERFECTLY....thank you. Got lots of work done too.
Thanks for letting us stay!
We loved our stay and plan to stay again on a yearly basis!
If you wake up to easily, I would not recommend this location due to the train wizzing by 3 times a day.
The property backs up to the rail line. We knew this ahead of time so we were prepared when the freight train blew through. It was a rather awesome experience to be sitting in the hot tub when it happened...
Fun spot, lots of deck space, trees and sun, very private hot tub and backyard area to relax, look for deer and listen to birds. Trains not that bad. About 2 a day, one at night.
As a previous home owner in Sunriver I can honestly say Vacasa is the best. BUT as far as this how goes be very aware. Only if your a couple with no kids would I stay here. OR you just need a place for a night or two for cheap by yourself. The two rooms in the house have no ceilings! They are 8' tall walls (hard to explain). More pictures need to be posted to show. The house is very outdated circa 1970
close enough to everything and still having privacy.
These houses are extremely close to one another and have no privacy. There are train tracks 50 ft out your back door and the wall shaking freight train went by 4 times a day on the weekend. Bring lanterns or at least candles for hot tub as there is no lighting out back on the house or in or around the hot tub. There is no privacy other than the bathroom even with paper thin walls as the walls don't reach the ceiling so you hear even whispers from the next room. Arrive during day light or beware very hard to find at night. ok for a couple but you really get what you pay for which is cheap so just keep your expectations low.
Thanks for sharing your review and feedback. We appreciate your 4 star review. This home, with it's unique design, may not be for everyone. It's really perfect for family vacations to Sun River. Thanks for choosing Vacsa, we hope you'll visit again.
We stayed 4 weekday nights, played in Mt. Bachelor snow, hung out in Sunriver. Great experience, would do so again. Only drawback were the train tracks in the backyard. After first night this was very little of a problem.
We really enjoyed our stay. As mentioned before, the walls are thin and the entire ceiling is open so privacy might be an issue for groups but for 1 couple it is a great value when you compare the inn at the 7th mt. Great kitchen and nice private hot tub. The train is loud.
We were able to walk most places from the house. It was very quiet except for the train, which was no big deal except it startled us out of sleep one night. The swim passes and washer/dryer were great!
We had a good stay here. My parents came to visit and had a nice time. Their only request would be to build some stair railings (to from carport to deck) - right now you have to balance your way down. We would come again with this improvement.
The only thing we missed was the laundry sopa so we could not start the towels when we left, otherwise we were pleased and delighted.
12 Juniper is a rustic accommodation. We decided it was a cross between a yurt & mobile home. Its got all the basic covered, but no dishwasher. It was fine for a weekend of running around & evenings in the hot tub.
My husband, 1 year old baby and I stayed at this home for a birthday celebration weekend. We had stayed at 13 Juniper the year before and thought this house looked fun. It is. The shape is unique. The reviews had warned about sound control being none due to the walls not extending to the ceiling. That was good to know. This was perfect for our family- we could be quiet when we put the baby to sleep. It would not have been good with 2 families. The hot tub was wonderful! Also it being pet free was an added bonus as I am allergic. Decore is from the 70's/80's but adds to the charm. For a couple or a family with one child this place is great.
We had a very relaxing and great experience! Hot tub w/ great view, bike rides, hanging out on the couch next to a wood stove playing board games. Comfortable king size bed. Home owner was also very friendly and helpful ! Would recommend this house to any couple that wants to get away and enjoy sunriver.
Small, comfortable cabin located almost in the center of all activities - 2 minutes drive to almost everything you need (except mountain). Everything is good but beware!!! there are no actual walls (except restroom) but only high partitions. I was really happy with it but the people staying with me not really because of my night time snoring :-). I still feel myself guilty a little bit.
Thanks for sharing your review with us. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. You are correct in pointing out that the walls do not extend to the top of the ceiling. This is no secret as we do clearly mention that in the listing above. This great home has a very unique and interesting feeling and is certainly a very popular house in our roster of vacation rentals.
The house is a bit dated, but was very clean. I would stay here again because the price was cheap. We paid $75 a night. There is a train that goes through the back yard. It's probably about 15 yards from the house. We actually loved watching it. It would also go by once during the night. It never bothered us though. This is way better than some house that have the back yards facing a road. The only really issue with the house is that the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling, so the sounds carries. This is only an issue if someone is trying to go to bed and others are staying up.
Excellent value. Trains very loud and property very close. I'd go back.
Great spot, especially if you like to sit and have peaceful environs, and if you like to watch the occasional train up close! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
This house had the basics, and for the price, was a good deal. unfortunately, the location is very near the railroad tracks, which are very loud at night. also, during the summer if it is real hot, the lack of AC is a challenge. But this is only an issue a few days a year.... we have stayed a lot in sunriver, and while this house was not a favorite, it had all the basic needs.
We loved this place! The house was great and close by everything!
We loved Sunriver. So much to do. We were only there for a couple days but will go back next year and spend at least a week. The home on Juniper was very comfortable and served our needs. Cute Tee Pee style. A few things to note, the walls do not go all the way up except in the bathroom. So if you want total privacy from kids or friends it might not work for you. Also there is a train running through the back yard. Even though it did wake us up at night briefly it was surprisingly quiet. No blaring horns. It was not a real problem at all. My husband and son loved to run out when it came by. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and for the price will definitely go back again.
We loved this awesome cabin at Sunriver and highly recommend this to anyone interested in visiting Sunriver. Absolutely a fabulous get away!
