Fun and Unforgettable Beach House - Dog-friendly with a Great Location

This Gleneden Beach vacation rental offers all the comforts of home for up to eight guests, with a few extra amenities to make your stay especially memorable! Gather around the unique wood-burning fireplace in the center of the living room, take a leisurely soak in the master bedroom's whirlpool tub, or stroll to the quiet beach. This cottage has an artsy vibe with pale wood walls and pops of blue and yellow, yet it's still cozy and homey without being pretentious. You'll love the hardwood laminate floors of the living area, crowned by a wood-burning fireplace, and with high ceilings and expansive windows overlooking the scenery. Guests can relax on the two comfy sofas while they watch the latest DVDs on the large TV, and kids of all ages can play a board game at the built-in table just off the living room. An additional gas fireplace offers even more heat on a cold coastal night.

The open floor plan allows easy access from the living room to the dining area. Six guests can enjoy their repast at the wooden dining table, and an additional three seats are on hand at the kitchen counter. Wooden cupboards hide plenty of dishes and pots and pans with which to cook, and the fridge is large enough to hold a plethora of snacks for the kids. No time for dishes? No worries, as the home includes a convenient dishwasher. The turquoise theme is continued on the upper level, which boasts two expansive bedrooms and one and a half baths. A queen bed, complete with floral coverlet, occupies the master suite, which also features pale wood walls, a large terrace, and a half bath. But it's the in-room jetted tub that catches the eye and offers the wow factor! The second bedroom boasts two double beds and a bathroom with a shower. A pull-out sofa offers room for two more guests, bringing the total accommodations to eight. Dogs are welcome here, too, though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply. A washer and dryer will get that sand and grime off in no time, and the backyard offers plenty of space to play or dine at the colorful picnic tables.

What's nearby:
Situated on the Northern Oregon Coast just west of the Oregon Coast Highway, this colorful two-story, two-bedroom home offers a pleasing respite for anyone looking to get away from it all. A two-block tree-lined path takes you to a secluded stretch of Gleneden beach with its sandstone bluffs, sea lions, and adventurous surfers. Just keep the car at home, as parking is limited. The Northern Oregon Coast boasts many year-round attractions. Just five miles from Gleneden Beach is popular Lincoln City, home to two annual kite festivals in the summer and fall. If you'd rather stay close to home, Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site is a stone's throw away, offering sea lions galore on nearby Salesian Spit. Head to Salishan Resort & Spa for some tee time on the 18-hole golf course or a hot stone massage at the award-winning spa. Check out local art at the Lawrence Gallery in town. Kayak tours, as well as whale watching, fishing, and crabbing opportunities, abound at the various state parks in the area. Close to the beach, with a unique sense of style and a few special touches: this is one Oregon Coast vacation rental you won't soon forget!

Cute house. Moat importantly, the question on my mind was is there a coffee pot. Yes. Yes, there is. It was well cleaned. The manager was attentive and responsive if u had questions or concerns. Close to the beach. Awesome fire pit. Love the washer and dryer. Plenty of beds, bedding, pillows and towels. It was nice. Couches were nice. Plenty of seats. Fridge and freezer worked. Stove was nice. Appliances all worked. Nice dishes and silverware. So close to town and activities. Excellent location to do everything you need to on the Oregon coast. Cute little house. Smelled nice and well kept. That is always a concern but we were happy and glad it was so nice. Very clean and welcoming. BBQ worked, propane availabe, front and back yard seating. We took our family and everyone qaa happy and enjoyed the house. Honestly you could not ask for better location or a better place to rent. You will enjoy.
Sheri C. Nov 2021
Loved this house.the fireplace wS amazing! The gas stove kept us warm when the fire went out. The whirlpool bathtub was amazing.we all took turns. 2 blocks to the beach..lots of treasures found kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner. Only negative would be ...the washer dryer were not good.ran a small load and had to spin it 3 times.same w dryer.ran it 3 times to get clothes dry.
We will be back. We loved it!
Manager response:
Hi, Sheri! We're so glad you stayed with us and appreciate your review. Housekeeping has confirmed the washer and dryer are functioning normally. The washing machine is sensitive to overloading and will require extra spin cycles in that situation. Thank you!
Chris A. Jul 2021
Great accommodations, close to the beach. Open the master bedroom doors and listened to the ocean at night.
Brie D. Jun 2021
This place was soo cute! I loved it . Not to far from the beach and a good location from depo bay and Lincoln city . Tons of stuff to do around it
Ryan S. Jun 2021
This home is everything we hoped it would be. The fireplace is incredible and the tub is apparently so good that I now have a wife that believes our home needs one too. Close to the beach and very private.
Judi S. May 2021
Pro's - great location in sweet wooded neighborhood 2 blocks from wonderful beach, cool architecture, roomy, the kitchen well stocked with pans and utensils. Master bedroom mattress comfy and old jacuzzi worked great. Great Wi-Fi connection.
Con's - Basic surfaces and linens clean, but needs a SERIOUS deep cleaning. Grimy rust on stair railing I had to clean off right away, thick dust on ceiling fan, dusty half broken mini blinds, water leak spots on ceiling, grimy sticky tea kettle and horrendous burner covers that smoked with oil when first turned on. Dirty carpet where it meets the baseboards, cobwebs and moss on windows, no screen doors on most windows and sliders. Serious issue with gas fireplace - very tricky thermostat, where we either couldn't get it to come on and were cold, or it came on by itself in the middle of the night and we came down to an overly toasty living area! This place has so much potential, but needs long overdue deep cleaning and maintenance. Other things: Very steep, awkward stairs. Wouldn't recommend for folks who are not as "spry" as they once were. No DVD player in living room, no cable tv (that we could figure out) Just a few streaming ROKU channels. The outdoor glass patio table top was "caved in" and unusable. Cool 60's fireplace, but too scary to use... no instructions on damper, grate with a huge hole in it. It takes up a lot of room, and would be awesome removed and put out on the patio as a cool outdoor fireplace. Steep awkward stairs, back room light too dim and need new mattresses back there. New pillows and bedding would be nice, too. Enough said... sorry, would have liked to given this place at least 5 stars... but the cleaning and maintenance was sorely lacking. I hope the owners will invest a bit and bring it back up to snuff, because it is such a unique property that obviously was once someone's beloved and awesome beach house.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback with us, Judi. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the location and coziness of the home! We apologize if you felt the home was not on par with our cleanliness standards. We would have been happy to address any areas in need of additional attention during your stay had we been notified. Your concerns have been addressed with housekeeping to ensure our standards and expectations are being met for every guest. We have also passed along your suggestions regarding the updates needed to our local manager who will work with our homeowner to make necessary upgrades. We hope to host you again in the future!
Amy E. May 2021
Loved the old funky house (would like to know some history of it). Wish it was cleaner and better cared for.
Kito S. Jan 2021
I like the uniqueness of the house and the jet tub in the master!!! Will stay again!!!
Rachelle C. Sep 2020
This house has so much character! Everything you could possibly need is there already. All you have to bring is food. They even have necessities for your pets. A quick walk down a cute path takes you right to the beach. I absolutely loved it and look forward to staying there again!
Yesenia S. Sep 2020
House was nice and cozy only problem was the WiFi/ connecting.
Connie H. Aug 2020
We had a great time but there needs to be a repair on the shower head as the water sprays straight up at the ceiling. It also needs sprayed for spiders. We used the BBQ and had steaks so it was great.
Manager response:
Hi, Connie! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Maintenance is taking care of the shower, and pest control will be handling the spiders. Thank you!
Mike R. Aug 2020
This is the second time we stayed at the Sand Castle in Geneden Beach! We enjoyed our first stay and new we would again. It's close to the beach and all the areas we enjoy while visiting the beautiful Oregon coast. We appreciated the amenities for our family dog as well! Thank you once again for a great vacation!
Pamela F. Jul 2020
We enjoyed our stay. Everything that you might need is provided. There is room for family dinners and movies. Close enough to walk to the beach and in a private setting. Laundry and jetted tub are a plus! Perfect for the beach family. If you are on a work trip and need good internet bring a hot spot as a backup.
Kimberly A. Jul 2020
Wonderful quick walk to the beach. The tv for movie time each night was spectacular. Nice cabin overall, I would have given it a 3.5 if I could have
Cindy B. Jun 2020
We loved your fun home with 2 fireplaces. We enjoyed reading by the fireplace. The location was perfect for walking the short distance to the beach. The bed was comfy, too! Thank you for sharing your home!
Rick C. Mar 2020
Wi-fi is spotty at best. On in the evening, off in the morning. No news reports, no cell service, no I-pad, no audio or visual entertainment. Whoever said silence is golden was mistaken. And strange little childlike steps on the stairway upstairs.
Manager response:
Rick, thank you for providing your valuable feedback, as we use your comments as a means to continually improve. Please know that local staff is available to assist if there are issues with the amenities offered. We hope to have a chance to host your next visit, thank you!
Karrie O. Mar 2020
Home was nice and clean. Very close walk to the water. With all the trees around the home, it made it feel very secluded (which we loved!) Only reason I gave 4 stars because when we arrived the house was VERY COLD!!! It took hours to heat up.
Manager response:
We are happy you enjoyed the home, Karrie! We are sorry that it was cold upon your arrival. We are letting our local staff know about this.
Alisha P. Feb 2020
Loved the cozy atmosphere in this beach cabin! The place definitely has unique beach-like decor which is fun. The house has plenty of games/movies/books to keep you entertained if you want to stay inside and if the weather is nice, it is also a very short walk to the beach. The owners are very prompt in answering questions as well, which is super helpful. The only thing I would want future guests to know is if you plan to cook here, bring your own seasonings! Also, if you are staying with a group of people, don't flush the toilet at the same time as someone else is in the shower (instant cold water in the shower). Overall though, we had a great time having a girl's weekend at the beach here!
Alexandra M. Dec 2019
Had a great time at this spot - would recommend to friends!
Manar M. Nov 2019
Very nice place, in a great location. Would definitely come back. Only complaints is the cob webs in the house need to be cleaned. Otherwise perfectly clean. Loved the fire pit and the fire place. Heads up tho, bring fire wood. It’s not provided.
Manager response:
Hello Manar, thank you for your review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in this home! We have alerted our housekeeping team of the cob webs so that they may be addressed soon. We hope to host you again soon!
Sharin B. Jul 2019
The home met our needs. It was quiet, comfy and fairly spacious. The only thing missing was a hair dryer. We could walk about 2 or 3 blocks to the beach, which was wonderful!
Michelle P. Jul 2019
Great location!! Cute house, w bright vibrant colors throughout the home. The indoor fire pit was awesome!! Even w chilly nights we still roasted marshmallows inside!
Danielle W. Jul 2019
Lovely little place in a secluded neighborhood. Super close to the beach. Had plenty of room for all of us. Will definitely book again!
Tana B. Jun 2019
A short walk to the beach. Another short walk to a great restaurant and a local pub.
Kathy H. May 2019
It was private with bushes and trees in both the front and back. Sitting around the little fire on the front brick patio was so nice the second evening. Well equipped. Bath up and downstairs. Easy walk to the beach.
Andrew H. Apr 2019
Great house that is walking distance to the beach. There is a little shortcut walking path that got you through the neighborhood to get to the beach. Family friendly. The house had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. We will be staying here again someday.
Marita D. Apr 2019
My daughter loved that the home was unique. We appreciated that our puppy was welcomed with her own doggy accessories. Absolutely loved the that the home felt secluded and not right on top of the neighbors.
Lisa W. Mar 2019
Great location, close to beach! Very cute and comfortable cottage!
Ronda P. Mar 2019
We had a great long weekend at the Sand Castle. The fireplace was so cozy and our girls really enjoyed the jetted tub. Can’t wait to come back and stay longer!
LINDSEY B. Feb 2019
While this house is older and could be a tad bit better maintained, you can't beat it! Dog friendly, fireplace, comfy beds and a big table to play games. We used the outdoor fire pit one evening and used the well stocked kitchen & outdoor grill to cook. Nice TV too! Great space! Super close to beach!
Shyla L. Dec 2018
I loved everything about it was very cozy, clean, the kids loved it and my husband and I loved it!!! Spa bath was amazing, the rooms where great!
Holly M. Sep 2018
The house was in a great location to the beach and a nice distance from Lincoln City to give a break from the traffic. We enjoyed the view and watching the rabbits play in the morning.
Amber K. Sep 2018
It was an awesome home to stay in. I loved the bathtub in the master bedroom. :)
Toni M. Jul 2018
Open floor concept. Easy for persons with mild disabilities.
Everything supplied but the food for the weekend. Was nice not having to pack the house for a vacation.
Deborah H. Jul 2018
We have rented homes up and down the coast of Oregon and this home was the worst one we have ever stayed in. One would think before each guest the manager/maintenance/housekeepers of the rentals would go through the home and make sure everything is in order for the next group that would be staying.

You clearly have rules for your guest to follow according to the book that I read. Which we followed, we left this house cleaner than it was left for us.
* We vacuumed the entire house
* Swept the floors
* Bath and Kitchen towels were washed and folded.
* Sheets were taken off the beds
* Left and load of laundry washing in the washer (Call the local maintenance man to let him know)
* All Dishes were washed (left a note on the dishwasher stating the dishes were clean)

We were somewhat disappointed, picture on website is nothing what it looks like Now, I wished I had read the reviews before booking this house for eight days, we even left a day early!! The same things we found wrong with this house during our stay was stated in August 2017 reviews only more. Yes, I did see the good reviews.

Here is a list of things we found that should be looked into:

1.No heat in house
*No adjustments on gas fireplace only pilot light was lit.
*Wood fireplace damper didn't work - lit a fire and house filled with smoke.

2. Carpet and rugs:
* Were filthy we vacuumed the entire house every day we were there, and right before we left. A deep shampoo cleaning is desperately needed for this home.
* My daughter moved the beds (her phone fell between the wall and the bed) in the second bedroom and found bugs and spiders, ABSOLUTELY UNEXCEPTIONABLE

3. Stairs:
* Not built to code, I wear a size seven shoe and my feet were too large for the steps, (I fell down from the top of bottom half of the stairs all the way to the floor) our grandson was not allowed on the outside balcony because of the spacing of the railing.
Treads are the part of a step that is stepped upon. They support the weight of the user. The depth of all the treads on a staircase must be the same from front to back, with a maximum variation of 0.375 inches between the deepest and shallowest treads. Tread depth is measured from the front and rear edges of the adjacent treads. Treads shall be a minimum depth of 11 inches.
Baluster Spacing
Balusters, the vertical guards that support the handrail, must be installed close enough that the space between them is no greater than 4 inches. Most city inspectors carry a 4-inch ball with them to test the spacing. Installed balusters should withstand 50 lbs. of pressure exerted over a 1-square-foot area.

4. Landscaping:
* Was overgrown and not properly taken care of.
* The wood furniture in the back of the house is rotten the table was broken at sometime and it looks like a child tried to fix it, my four year old grandson was sitting on one of the benches and the leg broke, luckily he only got a little bruise.
* The back-porch was filthy.

5. Kitchen:
*Could not open the windows in the kitchen no screens, spiderwebs all over the outside of the windows.
*Skillets need to be replaced
* I think it would have been nice to have the vacuum, mop and broom in a closet

6. Bathroom:
*Mold around the shower door and around the baseboards.
*Some kind of bug droppings under the cabinet were the extra towels were kept

7. Bedrooms:
*Mattress covers need to be replaced they look disgusting.
*New pillows not just putting pillow covers over old pillows.
*Clean under the beds

We also found some nice things about the house:
1. Living-room:
* Plenty of seating for our family
* Nice TV
*Appliances were clean
* Plenty of Dishes and silverware
3. Bedrooms:
* Beds were comfortable

4. Close to the Beach
Manager response:
We appreciate receiving such a thorough review to help us improve. The carpets are cleaned regularly when there is time between reservations, and the owner has plans to replace the lower level carpet with wood floors during the off season. Deep cleans have been performed, and maintenance is working on the other things mentioned in this review. This home was built prior to current building codes, so it does have some quirks. Thanks!
Tyler B. Jun 2018
It was quite, private, and the beach mins away beautiful
Harold S. Apr 2018
Loved the ambiance of central fireplace. Glad we brought our own wood. Kids loved making smores. Nice to have the gas fireplace for a quick warm up in the morning. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all the essentials. We (and dog) enjoyed the short walk on the path to the beach. Had a great time.
Melodee W. Mar 2018
Even being blocks away from the ocean, we heard it every day.
Pamela W. Oct 2017
The fireplace worked great but be sure and bring your own wood. Not a bad walk to the beach just difficult to find the first time out.
Erin W. Sep 2017
The Sand Castle was a great getaway for the girls. We had just enough space for the four of us to overnight comfortably. All the amenities were fully stocked and easily found. The best part was that everyone slept very well. The beds were perfectly firm and comfortable. Clean and quiet, this was a wonderful place to stay for a weekend.
Robert T. Sep 2017
The house was older and had not been updated ever so it was a little funky. Whule not a bad place it was just average.
Kirk M. Jul 2017
I'd get a hotel- the property wasn't well maintained.
Tammy M. Jul 2017
I really enjoyed the house and my daughter was celebrating her Birthday. I loved the in door fireplace, that was great.
Anne K. Jul 2017
We had a girls weekend here. The house just felt like a good time right when you walked in. All six of us commented on how cute the place was.

The kitchen is stocked, the place was clean, and the little extras (indoor fireplace, whirlpool tub, etc.) really made our stay awesome.

The house is for sure older and you can see a little wear and tear, but I think this is an excellent property for what you'll pay.

p.s. you're super close to a pretty deserted and nice beach. We walked a whole brunch down there with no hassle at all.
Riisa H. Jun 2017
My family and I stayed at the Sand Castle for 2 nights . The rate per night was fair for the size of the house. The beach was within walking distance and you could hear the ocean from the master bedroom. My kids loved the jacuzzi tub. The stairs to the upper part of the house were steep so we all just had to be careful walking up and down them. There was a washer and dryer in the home which was helpful. There's a coffee pot, microwave and toaster for convenience. There are some spices there to use as well for cooking. There are some pots and pans but if you have a big family you might want to bring bigger ones. Overall a nice place to stay and we plan to stay again.

Wendi N. May 2017
We got to take our dogs and be close to the beach! Who could ask for more!
Jeff M. Apr 2017
We certainly enjoyed our stay. Location was wonderful, situated 2 blocks from the beach, halfway between Lincoln City and Newport on highway 101. The only downside was the stairs to the bedrooms were quite steep, and the stair steps extremely shallow, so they are not ideal for individuals with less then perfect mobility. Overall clean, well-maintained and secure. And wonderful amenities for pets (they supplied a crate and dog dishes, although we used our own).
Charis L. Mar 2017
I had never rented a house before for a stay. This property was very well maintained and clean. Its very quaint. I would recommend this location and would have no problem renting this location again.
Christopher P. Feb 2017
This house was delightful. The inside was clean and worked out great for us and our pooch. The gas fireplace worked nicely as did the jacuzzi tub upstairs. It's a quick three block walk to the beach, partly through a wooded path. The beach area was quiet and our dog loved it! I really can't wait to go again and stay even longer!
Leena B. Feb 2017
Beach access a short walk away. Access road had been washed out at bottom which made access a little difficult for our little ones but the walk was perfect. Hopefully that can been fixed soon, looks like it was relatively recent. As for the home it was perfect for us, two couples and two kids. We enjoyed the charm of the house and the fire place was fun to cuddle up next to. The layout worked well for us and it was nice to have outside furniture since it was nice out in February. We brought a baby gate for our toddler and the stairs which worked perfect and I'd suggest if bringing curious ones. Overall I'd recommend a stay at the Sand Castle
Patrick R. Jan 2017
My wife absolutely loved it! This is our first time renting a weekend home and it was a great experience. The house had some outdated objects and that is one thing that she loved about it. For it being pet friendly, it didn't smell and there were no fleas or anything. She is already talking about summer time. None of the neighbors were a bother and just a really great weekend. The beach is a little walk away but not bad. I would recommend this vacation house.
Herbert J. Nov 2016
very nice place to stay for the money. older people might have trouble with stairs. very steep and narrow. would stay here again.
Sara T. Nov 2016
Great place to stay! We had 2 family's and it was defiantly big enough for us. There were games available to play also. The only thing that was hard is the fireplace in the middle made the moms a bit nervous with little kids around it. Others E loved the place can't wait to visit again!
Debowden B. Aug 2016
A nice place to stay if you want to be centrally located on the coast--a decent grocery store nearby-- and w Lincoln City/outlet shopping in the north and Newport/Waldport/Florence and sand dune bugging, crabbing, clamming, Rogue and the aquarium to the south--it serves visitors well! Nice and quiet on Gleneden Beach!!
Wendy D. Aug 2016
This house is a good beach house. When you go to a beach house, you don't expect perfection. It is a place to sleep after a long day playing. The amenities were good. It was accurate to the posting. We would recommend to some of our friends but not all - some are higher maintenance than others. We liked the option of a late checkout. The proximity to the beach was great. The beds were comfortable and we really liked the jetted tub. We did have to call management a couple of times, however. The grille was not accessible. Also, one afternoon, a bat was flying around inside the house. This was a bit disconcerting. The house could have been cleaner (dusty), there is a plant actually growing inside the house (it came in from the outside). The place is a little run down, could use some paint. Also, in the upstairs bedroom, the window cranks were broken off, no screens, and there were no curtains on the windows. This really needs to be fixed. All this said, we did have a very fun time at the Sand Castle. We never saw the owner/manager. The price was good too. Thanks.
Sherry C. Aug 2016
It makes sense with being a pet friendly property and we just didn't think about it prior but when we arrived we started noticing fleas. It should be treated periodically if pets continue to stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay and its location
Manager response:
We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We have treated the home and there have been no signs of fleas. We appreciate your feedback and want to thank you for choosing Vacasa for your vacation rental!
Laurie C. Jul 2016
It was a pretty cute house. The mattress in the master bedroom was a little uncomfortable, and the pillows and sheets were a little musty. When I took a bath in the jacuzzi tub, there were bits of old hair and lint that came out when I turned the jets on. There were a lot of fleas in the carpet also. The TVs came with Netflix so I could finish watching the new season of Orange is the New Black, which was cool. Overall, it was a pleasant place, I don't think I will stay there again just so I can experience other areas of the Oregon Coast.
Manager response:
The home has been treated for fleas, and the jets have been thoroughly cleaned. We apologize for these issues during this reservation.
Tiffany S. Jul 2016
Affordable house with easy beach access and a nice outdoor patio space.
Cindi L. Jul 2016
Booking the Sand Castle for the weekend was kind of a last minute thing due to other plans falling through - but I couldn't be happier!! The house was so cute with all the charms you'd expect from a beach home. The circular fireplace in the living room was such a treat! The kitchen had a great supply of dishware and silverware, and the dog bed/toys were a great touch! The stairs are definitely small and steep - even our dog was weary the first time coming down. But the spa bathtub in the master bedroom is AMAZING!!! We also enjoyed sitting outside around the fire pit and hearing the waves crash to shore from a couple blocks away. Overall we had a fabulous time and made some great memories. I will definitely be coming back to this house!
Omar D. Jul 2016
this particular house "the sand castle" was recommended by a friend who also had a great experience a couple months ago. It's a 2-3 minute walk from the beach 10-45 minutes away from many, many places and family activities such as several whale watching spots, alder house of glass to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. Locals are very friendly, kind, suggestive and helpful.
Raelene B. Jul 2016
Enjoyed our stay here over the 4th of July. The house is very unique and comfortably fit us and our friends. Would love to come back in the winter and be able to use the fun fireplace. It's close to the beach and has everything you need in the kitchen.
Crystal H. Jun 2016
Perfect for our small family and 2 dogs.
Nelson B. Jun 2016
First time in Oregon for our family vacation and we were hesitant to get a home rental because picture don't always portray real life, however they provided what they say online and some.... we had a great experience with all the whole family, beach was so close to our rental you could hear the wave crashing down at night very cool for those that love mother nature!!.....our kids loved the upstairs and games that came along with the home!!!....and wife n I couldn't have been more relaxed on their indoor mini hot-tube, fire place, movable fire pit outside, even fire place inside was cool looking, but the real deal for me was the grill and how close we were to everything around stores, beaches, cafe shops it was everything we were hoping for!!>...
Emiko F. Apr 2016
We loved this home! The layout was really fabulous and we would like to return with more people. The two fireplaces were awesome and such a mellow area. Beyond happy with the place and look forward to staying again!
Sammy C. Apr 2016
Was the perfect rental for our family of 6. Had a wonderful vacation.
Stacey P. Mar 2016
The Sand castle home.. Well its a small home.. The stairs were a hit with our 6 year old. Counter level was short enough our 6 yr old didn't need a step stool to brush her teeth or wash her hands. Curtains seems to be a bit of a peep show for neighbors. Fire places, I love the round fireplace. Some things are out of date. But I didn't mind at all. The washing machine for laundry, brought some great memories back of me being a small child doing laundry with my G-ma.. I really was looking forward to the old fridge.. Feel horrible for the ones to find out it was going out on their trip there.. The paint job on the new fridge. That is a bang up job made us laugh. The dish washer well not much you can do with fools playing and breaking your goods you supply for your guest. I laughed so hard when I saw the work job of the stick and zip ties to fix the upper rack in it. Thank you for that :) .. Over all we had a BLAST in this house.! :) THANK YOU VACASA TEAM..
Jessica L. Mar 2016
Great house for a small family or couple. stayed there with 3 kids and they loved the fun stairs and jacuzzi in the bedroom. Just a note that the stairs are extremely steep and narrow so it could be a concern for small children or the elderly. Everything was clean and in working order. Especially enjoyed the gas fireplace and large nice tvs with lots of channel choices.
Great proximity to the beach just a short walk with the trail right across the street from the house.
Shannon K. Feb 2016
My boyfriend and I had such a great time staying at The Sand Castle! The living room fireplace is so awesome...and the bedroom hot tub was such a treat and a nice way to end every day. I would highly recommend staying here and we will def stay here again.
Dawna A. Nov 2015
Very comfortable layout, well stocked kitchen. Private treed small yard. Easy access to the beach. Electronics and wifi operated flawlessly. Overall we had a lovely 7 night stay in this affordable and charming rental and hope to be back! 😀

Stayed here for couple of days with several little kids, very quiet and cozy property. Nice private backyard with lots of blackberries around. Two blocks to the beach. A little bit outdated furnishing but still decent.

I really wanted to stay at a property with an ocean view however my husband really liked the idea of staying in an A frame house and upon looking at the pictures and seeing the amenities offered at this property I decided it would work for our group. We had 2 adult couples & my 17 year old daughter. I was concerned about there being no air conditioning and it being too hot being we were visiting the first week of August however even though we were not directly on the ocean there was a very nice ocean breeze that came through when you opened up the doors. I will say the pictures of the outside are not up to date with how it looks in person and upon driving up I was disappointed and a bit scared of what we would find inside however I was pleasantly surprised to find the inside very charming. No it's not high end fancy & yes you can tell it has been lived in (some stains on the carpet) it still felt clean & comfortable throughout. I know another review had mentioned something about pet hair being everywhere? I will say we found nothing of the sort and although we did not bring our dogs
With us I found it very refreshing to see all the pet supplies that were offered from a nice sized kennel to blankets & towels specific to pets, a very nice touch. TV's were nice sized and offered a decent cable package as well as Netflix. Internet worked seamlessly, we didn't encounter one problem with it. My husband & I found the bed in the master to be comfortable enough and my in laws didn't mind the beds in the second bedroom and my daughter found the couch downstairs once pulled out to be very comfortable as well. All in all this property is very cute & charming and we would have had no problem staying for a week or more and found we really didn't want for anything. The only issue I had was parking, the driveway fits 2 cars however they won't fit side by side so being we did have 2 cars we found ourselves having to move one in order for the other to get out so with that being said the only other thing I would suggest would be for the owner to maybe give the outside a fresh coat of paint & cut back the bushes in the yard as it was a bit over grown but nothing that would keep me from returning to this property next time I'm in the area!!!!!

This place is one of the nicest we've found so far in the Lincoln City area. It was comfortable, well stocked, and close to everything the area has to offer. The neighborhood was very peaceful and had easy access to the beach at Gleneden.

The beds were cozy and the big jetted tub was a nice surprise. The big retro fireplace was a great way to settle in and relax on a cool evening. For the price, you really can't beat this home.

We will be coming back to the Sandcastle for our next trip to the shore!

The only thing I would mention is that the stairs are steep and narrow so if you have very small children bringing a couple of baby gates would be advised.

You are just a block and a half from the beach. Locate the ivy lined trail and walk towards the sound of the waves. The beach is windy but empty of people (at least in mid-July).

Very warm and welcoming place to stay. GREAT location and very easy access to beach. Couldn't be happier. If you have a problem with pet hair this is not the place for you if you don't mind it then it is. In the middle of Lincoln City and Newport which we loved. Kids really enjoyed the jetted tub. Great feature to this house.
