Perched right next to the beach, you can walk just a few steps out this home's back door to reach the sand. Take early-morning jogs through the fog, go beachcombing, build sandcastles, fly kites, frolic with your dogs through the shallow surf, or simply sit and watch the waves roll in and out.
Additionally, within an easy five-minute walk you can reach several eateries and a small market in town, so you can leave the cars parked and walk around charming Rockaway Beach!
This home has two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, and will accommodate 10 guests. You are even welcome to bring your beloved dogs with you (under 40 pounds), though be aware that a nightly fee does apply. But that's a small price to pay to see the look of ecstatic joy on your dog's face as she runs across the sand!
On the main floor of this spacious house, you will find the common areas. The living room is complete with comfortable seating, a cozy wood-burning fireplace, a wonderful view of the ocean from the windows, and many entertainment options. Watch some cable TV, choose a DVD for a family movie night, grab a book to read on the patio, play a board game, or use the Internet to look up tide tables. There's also a Ping-Pong table out in the garage for late-night tournaments!
The full kitchen has everything you may need to cook up tasty meals during your stay. Whether you're making eggs and bacon or a multi-course Sunday dinner, you will find all the appliances and tools you may need to prepare food here (including a blender, a mixer, and a coffee grinder). Sit down at the breakfast bar, at the dining room table, or bring your plate outside on the patio to watch the ocean while you eat.
Upstairs you will find the bedrooms. Both rooms are fit to be called a master suite, with a private bath attached to each. The first room features a huge king-size bed and a set of twin bunks, as well as a desk in case anyone needs to get any work done while on vacation. The second bedroom has a soft queen-size bed and a full-over-full bunk. A sofabed and a futon provide even more comfortable places for guests to sleep.
The laundry room provides a way to freshen up your clothes if they happen to get dirty while playing on the beach. Head outside to find a patio with seating and a gas grill, so you can cook up a nice lunch of burgers or grilled chicken for everyone! When you're done, walk right onto the beach for a post-meal stroll.
Visitors come to Rockaway Beach for a smaller and quieter atmosphere where you can relax with few distractions. The marvelous beach is the main attraction in town, but you will also find plenty of restaurants, cafes, and small shops to keep you busy during your stay.
For more activity options, drive 20 minutes to Tillamook, which has a famous cheese factory that you can tour. Afterward, check out the gift shop, buy some of their signature aged cheddar, and stop at the ice cream counter for a fresh-made waffle cone of huckleberry ice cream! In Tillamook you will also find many restaurants and shopping.
If you prefer outdoor activities, drive north along the coast to the Nehalem River, where you can fish and boat, or visit the Nehalem Bay State Park where you can find fabulous hiking and biking trails as well as hundreds of acres of pristine coastline.
