Dog-Friendly Condo with Ocean Views, Private Balcony & Great Location

For amazing views, make your way up to the Crow's Nest! This intimate and cozy Oceanside vacation rental will be your home base while exploring the area.

From your perch, you'll have a front row seat on hovering seabirds, para-gliders, and the magnificent rock formations of Three Arch Cape right offshore! Plus, you'll be ideally situated to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Oceanside. Just six minutes from Cape Meares State Park and a short fifteen-minute drive to dining and shops in nearby Tillamook, this charming rental is your ticket to the beautiful Oregon Coast.

After your day hiking around Cape Meares, come back to this refuge, make yourself some coffee, and review all the great pictures you took that day as you sink into the plush comfort of the sectional sofa. Why not add to the ambiance with a little music from the iPod dock, or, stream your favorite online station on the laptop with the free WiFi. You can also slip a DVD into the player (be sure to pack some!) and enjoy a flick on the flat screen TV. The TV has cable as well, so you won't miss the next episode of that series you're hooked on.

With two stylishly decorated bedrooms, the Crow's Nest will accommodate four comfortably (five, max). Both bedrooms have soft queen beds. Everyone will share one full bathroom. There's even a washer and dryer right in the unit, so you won't be lugging laundry somewhere else.

Pack enough supplies for meals! This compact yet fully equipped kitchen is ready for just about anything you choose to make. The lovely cobalt and white tilework make this space as attractive as it is efficient. Top off your day at the beach with a hearty, warm meal. Along with the usual stove and big fridge, your cook(s) will appreciate the space-saving microwave and the dishwasher for clean ups. And you'll be able to savor the same great cup of coffee you enjoy at home with the coffee grinder that's waiting for your beans of choice!

You'll also have use of a common deck with a grill. If you're renting all of Berni's Castle or enjoy making a few new friends, the lower deck with grill will be a fun socializing spot.

Serve up your homemade meals in the turret dining room! This is a beautiful space, the wood-lined domed ceiling creates a feeling of spaciousness you wouldn't ordinarily expect in a unit this size.

Oceanside is located 11 miles west of busy Highway 101, so peace and solitude are the upsides of its more secluded location. Kick back out on the covered deck and breathe the fresh, ocean air wafting past your Oregon Coast vacation rental.

Or, head out and explore the area. If you're into lighthouses, make the short, six-minute trip north to gorgeous Cape Meares State Park, where you'll not only be able to check out the lighthouse, you can lace up the hiking boots and trek around this amazing Oregon Coast landmark. The surrounding sea-cliffs are home to rare sea birds like Tufted Puffins, Common Murres, and Cormorants. Peregrine Falcons also nest on the cliffs, and even Bald Eagles can be seen foraging there.

Sign on to one of the charters leaving nearby Garibaldi (about a half-hour away) and fish, or take a chance on seeing a whale breach! Head over to Tillamook (about 15 minutes away) and tour the Cheese Factory, do some shopping, or sit down for a meal in one of the many restaurants there. Oceanside itself has a small but admirable selection of eateries as well, including the Oregon Coast staple: a fantastic local coffee shop.

Navigate to the Crow's Nest where you'll have everything you need for a relaxing and memorable getaway in one of the most scenic and abundant parts of the Oregon Coast.

*Cell phone service is very limited in Oceanside, but easily available three miles away in Netarts *

Very clean. Great location.
Mark H. Feb 2022
Wonderful views from the many windows overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the town of Oceanside and from the porch as well. The views from the porch are actually better then they appear in the website photos for this apartment. The open floor plan invites the light in, and the place feels cozy with the electric “wood” stove and the comfortable, curved couch. Everything in the apartment helped make our three-night stay enjoyable. Oh, to hear the sound of the waves! We will return!
JAMES S. Jan 2022
We have stayed at the Crow's Nest several times/year for many years. The apartment is wearing out. Ants are always a problem. Dining chair legs are bent. Kitchen pans were dirty. Dishes were greasy. DVD player did not open but was replaced. Land line phone is dead and there is no cell coverage.
The tap water tastes bad. We buy bottled water. All the chairs are uncomfortable so we bring chairs. The trays are cracked so we bring our own.
Manager response:
Hi, James! We're glad you stayed with us and sincerely apologize the cleaning was not up to our standards. The trays and chairs are getting fixed, and we are ensuring the landline is properly set up through the WiFi. Professional pest control is scheduled to take care of the ants. Thank you!

I love Oceanside. Such a sweet little town with Rosanna’s Cafe (one of the best on the Oregon coast) Bernie’s castle is an easy walk to the beach and “town” set in a lovely neighborhood. But the best is the stunning view.
Jessica W. Jul 2021
This is my 2nd time staying here. It's a perfect size for a couple and dog. They've added a new couch and updated the countertops which makes it feel more spacious. Can't beat the views and the proximity to the beach. Mattresses could use an update.
Meghna D. Jun 2021
Loved this stay for the view, location and dog friendly aspect!
J Lauren N. May 2021
Oceanside is such a sweet town. This location is easy walking to everything and the view is amazing. We saw gray whales, watched storms coming through, and were entertained by the beach walkers. Love that it is dog friendly too. I’ve stayed in some of the other rooms at Bernies Castle and this one is a better size for me, but I didn’t give it a 5 star like I have the other rooms. In the Crows nest the rooms in the back need blackout curtains. The street light outside is like the sun beaming on you all night long. Otherwise another perfect stay.
Deena M. May 2021
everything you could need was there, just like home away from home
Julie B. May 2021
This cozy house fit our family of four plus pup nicely for a long weekend getaway. It's nothing fancy but the view is outstanding and it was fun to watch those beautiful sea stacks, gulls, surfers, whale spouts and paragliders landing from our perch in the tower turret dining room. It was an easy walk down to the beach (if a steep walk home!) and check in/out was a breeze. We found most everything one would need (except salt, think about bringing your own) for basic cooking. We would come again!
Lynne C. May 2021
So comfortably decorated with a great kitchen that eliminates the need to go restaurant seeking.
Easy access with no stairs even though it’s situated high on the hill. Spectacular views day and night. A dog friendly condo and a dog friendly beach below! We will definitely return.
Jeffrey K. Oct 2020
The views are great from the crows nest, and it was a short walk down the hill to the beach.
David R. Sep 2020
The view has to be the first topic. It's stunning! The home itself is very comfy. Well stocked kitchen allows ease of eating in a lot. It's a 5 minute drive to the beach or Julianna's excellent restaurant.
Could use a good ceiling fan - it was 80 and a bit smoky when I stayed. Would definitely recommend.
Erin B. Sep 2020
Everything was wonderful. An exception was the TV, which wasn't important to us, but it had a fuzzy stripe down the middle of the screen that looked like it had been dropped. That disappeared after awhile but a blue horizontal line remained. Watching TV wasn't our reason for being there, so no big deal. Also the wifi went out a lot, but there was also heavy rain. The place itself, beautiful view, beautiful deck, tidy and clean. Our six year old saw the hexagonal windows in the dining room and said, "wow it's like a castle." We will rent this place again and again.
Sara R. Aug 2020
Couldn’t stay off the deck or away from the windows! Those views! The place was super comfortable and loved cooking in that kitchen! Totally worth the 5 hr trip to get there...with the pup!
Wendy W. Aug 2020
This was an amazing long weekend location & the fact that we could take our dog was perfect. We walked down to the beach multiple times a day & spent every evening watching the sunset from the patio. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony with coffee every morning.
Jane F. Jul 2020
Clean and comfy. Great vantage point to watch birds.
Ryan E. Jun 2020
Great views, right on top of the ocean!
Highly recommended!
Amy V. Feb 2020
We loved this perfect getaway! The view was great and it was a quick walk to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked to make your own meals. We sat and read and stayed warm and cozy while it was stormy outside. We also had a great dinner at Rosanna’s.
Cynthia C. Feb 2020
Whether it's stormy or sunny, the view from the Crow's Nest is amazing. The apartment is small, but well equipped and squeaky clean. I have stayed here several times and will stay in the future.
Sandra E. Dec 2019
My husband and I stayed 2 nights after Thanksgiving. Great apartment, great views, very relaxing. And our dog was happy too. Well stocked apartment.
Brenda S. Nov 2019
The home was comfortable and well equipped with an outstanding view. The beach access was close and easy. No stairs for access to the home which was helpful and we liked having our dog with us. We will return!
JIM S. Oct 2019
The chairs and couch are so uncomfortable that we always bring our own lawn chairs. We always bring and use ant traps. The little deck is nice when it heats up in the afternoon.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review! We apologize for the setbacks you experienced. The ants have been handled by professional pest control, and we are delighted you enjoyed the deck. We hope to see you again!
Nancy J. Aug 2019
Me and my sister enjoyed our stay very much! Have been coming to this beach since we were kids but have never stayed here. The deck and view were fantastic! Got lots of great pictures. And the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Thank you, will definitely recommend it to the rest of our family and friends!.
Amanda W. Jul 2019
This place is so charming. Crested on the cliff of a hamlet with ocean views from nearly every part of the house, plus an adorable deck to sip your morning coffee while listening to the ocean and watching the sunrise. Wish we could have stayed more than one night! Beds were comfortable, everything was clean, games for the kids, kitchen was stocked with supplies. Bring your own coffee grounds (closest store is 10 miles away).
Kim W. Jun 2019
We loved our stay at the Crow's Nest for our visit to the coast. Stunning views, comfortable beds, perfect kitchen for home-cooked meals away from home. The beach was a treasure. Definitely be sure to venture through the tunnel and explore the tidepools and exposed rocks during low tide.
Mary M. Jun 2019
It was very clean with a great view. Very nicely set up kitchen, wonderful deck. It was just what we wanted. However Oceanside has no amenities in town - not even early morning coffee! If you are there for quiet and a lovely beach, this is your place.
Hector F. Apr 2019
This! Place! Is! Magic!

That view! The location! The view again because it's so good!

Super clean, stocked with what we needed and easy to be in. We'd definitely stay here again!
Caroline C. Mar 2019
When I work in Tillamook I love having the chance to stay in Oceanside for a beach side retreat. I’m pretty sure all location in Oceanside are just about equally lovely for views and beach access but Bernie’s was exceptionally lovely for the space as well. The house has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and easy parking. Also the interior has some space to spread out (unlike several other rentals I’ve had in Oceanside). Over my last 6 months of traveling for work here this is my favorite location to stay
Ed G. Mar 2019
This was our second stay at Berni's Castle. Previously at The Potter's Wheel and this time at The Crow's Nest. Both are fabulous dwellings sharing the spectacular view from a couple of hundred feet above the beach. Both units have recently undergone a high quality remodel and it shows.

We were blessed with gorgeous blue skies and unusually calm seas for the first three days, the fourth day featured a bit of rain in the morning and then broken skies for the remainder of the day. The sunsets on two of the days were absolutely breathtaking. The views from the windows and new deck are glorious. At various times the view was populated by GOLDEN Eagles; Bald Eagles; Red Tailed Hawks; Steller's Jays; doves; crows; and the normal beach birds; seagulls; murrelet's; cormorants etc. Sea lions bask and bark on the flatter rocks around the Three Arches a short distance off the beach to the northwest.

My wife thrilled at finding numerous agates on the beach accessible via the tunnel carved through Maxwell Point just a few hundred yards north of the Oceanside Beach State Recreation Site directly in front of Berni's.

The Three Capes Scenic Drive is spectacular with many sites of interest along the way. Easy and rewarding hikes can be had at Kilchis Point Reserve to the North, and Sitka Sedge to the south along with Whalen Island Reserve. Cape Meares lighthouse is very accessible and a rewarding stop.

We will return to Berni's again and again in various configurations of family and friends. We have yet to stay in the three bedroom lower unit and look forward to gathering a group and taking over the whole complex.

Jerry W. Feb 2019
Very quaint! The view was amazing! Weather wasn’t great but that didn’t stop us from having a good time! Beds were very comfortable!
JIM S. Feb 2019
The view.
lynne s. Nov 2018
view clean fireplace cozy easy parking close to restaurants
Jerr D. Oct 2018
Our suite (Crow's Nest) was exactly as depicted in the website. It was very clean, had tremendous views, and was located a short walk to the beach. It was well furnished, the beds were comfortable, and everything functioned correctly including the TV and wood stove.
Leslie E. Jul 2018
Clean place with everything you need. New deck was great!
Gary G. Jun 2018
It took only one look out the bay windows to know this was the prefect place for us. The view from up high on the ridge could not be better of the coast and the Three Arches Rocks. We did not need to even leave the the perch of the nest to thoroughly enjoy this part of the Oregon coast, which is known for its beauty. We could lounge and watch the many moods of the coastal weather. Through field glasses we watched the wales that were constantly blowing and showing their humped backs. They were always in front of the large rock on the left. We also enjoyed watching the 50+ sea lions on the smaller rocks in front of the Three Arches Rocks. We did go down on the beach during low tide to walk as far as possible north, and saw more rock formations up close around the bend, and felt the power of the waves as they broke. There are several grottos you won't know are there if not on the beach.

This is a very nice small rental with two bed rooms and full kitchen for three to four people. Just the right size for us. See the 360 views on the Vacasa site. The outside balcony was better than expected with an unencumbered view of the rocks also.

Oceanside is a peaceful little town - a hidden gem near Tillamook. Although we have been to the Oregon coast many times, we had not heard of Oceanside, OR. There are a couple small restaurants. We ate chowder at the one between the road and beach with a full view. The one-of-a-kind deserts with local berries are excellent!

Don't miss visiting the Tillamook Dairy Co., which has a new facility for visiter's to watch the process of making and packaging cheese ( I suggest avoiding Saturday and Sunday). Don't leave without having an awesome ice cream cone.

There are also many viewpoints near and around Oceanside. There is a secluded beach that can be accessed from the road between Oceanside and the lighthouse to the north. If you are the first to hit the beach after high tide, you can find sand dollars. There were many people looking for agates that had washed up.

I recommend Berni's Ocean View Castle - The Crow's Nest.
Judy W. Jun 2018
The Crow's Nest was perfect in every way! Very comfortable & clean. Gorgeous views. Excellent resteraunts nearby. Loved it!
JIM S. May 2018
We've been vacationing at various lodgings at Oceanside for 18 years. This is the first year we saw whales everyday (for 8 days). Minus tide during daylight was great but it also brought crowds of students during the week and families during the weekend. The deck is a great addition to the Crow's Nest.
Luz M. Mar 2018
Spent the weekend relaxed and amazed by the views, especially the attractions around crow's nest would definitely come back.
Brenda E. Feb 2018
Molly L. Feb 2018
It was very nice staying someplace that has a kitchen and privacy. Much better than a hotel!
Cynthia C. Jan 2018
This is the second time I've stayed in this unit and it's perfect for 1-4 guests. Great location, great view.
Carolyn M. Dec 2017
Terilyn B. Dec 2017
This is the ideal place for a romantic getaway. Cozy with a beautiful view. Easy to stay in all day and snuggle if you want to or go for a walk on the beach. The kitchen is great to cook in. We went to a great fish market and made a few good meals while we here there. Just a perfect place.
James S. Nov 2017
We have been staying at the Crow's Nest for 10 years. The view continues to be the best feature of the suite. The appliances (microwave, flat screen) are wearing out and the chairs and couch are uncomfortable.
Ingrid O. Nov 2017
This is a wonderful unit, and just the right size for 2-4 people. The views are spectacular!
Chelsea W. Oct 2017
Thank you for the lovely time at your Oceanside stay :)
JAMES S. Oct 2017
From the dining room 6 windows we can see the 3 Arches, about 1/2 mile of beach and almost 180` of ocean. This time, from the dining room, we watched a mother and baby whale spout and surface around the 3-arches. The pelicans were cute. For the first time, there was a pair of binoculars at the apartment. We always bring a spotting scope but the binoculars were helpful.
Kari C. Sep 2017
I grew up in Corvallis and spent a lot of time at the coast growing up, but had never been up to this part of the Northern Coast, as it is just off the beaten path from 101. The photographs of this property do not do it justice. Truly a little slice of heaven in a sleepy little coastal town. If you're looking to get away from the bustle of other busier coastal towns, this is it. There aren't a lot of restaurants nearby, so if you plan to cook and eat in like we did so we could spend our time enjoying the unit, then you will love it. (A new, large Safeway store is located about 10 minutes away in Tillamook.)

The kitchen is very well appointed with most everything you will need. The dishes, flatware and glassware (including wine glasses) are all high quality (a big deal for me) and the cookware is Cuisinart along with a butcher block full of Henckel knives!

Upon entering, we found the unit to be clean and well maintained. There were extra touches like a pair of binoculars to use, games and cards, videos, etc. The propane stove is not operational as a card next to it indicates that the wind causes the pilot light to go out frequently and they cannot send someone up to re-light it every time that happens. I would imagine it's not ever on with as much wind as the coast gets. (I suggested they replace it with a pellet stove so it can be enjoyed consistently.)

The beds are comfortable, carpets are a bit worn with a few stains and I suggested to the owners that they be replaced. Not awful though. The sofa is quite comfortable, shower has great pressure, lighting in the unit is good, and parking directly outside the door is very convenient.

The views! Oh, the views. They are magnificent. We spent a lot of time at the table, playing cards, drinking wine and coffee and just staring out over the ocean. Whether watching a storm roll in or enjoying beautiful sunshine, it was all good. We walked down on the beach on a day with barely any wind at all and very few people.

I highly recommend this unit for a relaxing coastal getaway.

Verena M. Sep 2017
This cute and comfortable cottage was just what we needed for a couple of days in Oceanside. The view of the ocean is terrific. It is walking distance into town, but on a hill so you can decide to add a little exercise or drive down to the town and beach. Vacasa's staff was helpful and communicated well prior to our stay. Would definitely go again.
Faris M. Aug 2017
We loved the view and the location. It was great.
Anna O. Jul 2017
We came with our dog and have no complaints about the property or location. The view was absolutely amazing. I spent almost every morning with a cup of coffee looking out to the ocean and ended the night with a glass of wine looking out to the ocean. Very peaceful but also a great location for driving to day activities. Unit was very clean and cozy sized bedrooms.
Rulin F. Jun 2017
We had a family travel at the place, the beach view is fantastic and the "secret" beach is awesome too.
Heather M. Jun 2017
Our family of Four had a great time. The beach was great to explore. The home away from home was very cozy and had everything we needed.
Fletcher C. Jun 2017
I felt like I was bait and switched but the $170/night marketing. After taxes, cleaning, etc it ends up being closer to $300+/night, which is very expensive for us. It being a special occasion, we decided to splurge. The only real disappointment was how it smelled after paying top dollar for the view and nice finishes.
Manager response:
We apologize if the total cost came as a surprise. If guests book on our personal website they can see the total cost, with fees and tax included, before selecting to book the home. Housekeeping will investigate the home for unpleasant odors. Thanks!
Charles N. Jun 2017
Need we say more!!
JAMES S. May 2017
Been here many times. Love it because there is nothing to do except spend time together.
Nicole S. Apr 2017
Nice little Oceanside condo with excellent view and quick beach access. Appreciate that dogs are welcome. It is a bit cozy - perfect for two couples. Stocked with games and puzzles for those rainy beach days. We had a blast!!
Jim S. Mar 2017
Rain or shine, wind or fog, we like to stay here primarily for the view, and the fact that not many people come here in the winter. We enjoy rainy walks on the beach when no one else if there. The washer/dryer makes it possible to clean and dry all your soggy clothes before the next walk.
LeAnn L. Feb 2017
Views from here are fantastic. Kitchen is well appointed, and the home is comfortable. Smaller than I thought it would be, but it was just fine for our weekend escape. We love visiting Oceanside.
Charles N. Feb 2017
Lovely place for gazing out at the ocean - the coastline at Oceanside is particularly scenic in this location. Bonus is no deck in front to break the view directly down to the beach. The property is very clean, cozy and includes a small private deck off the side.
JAMES S. Jan 2017
We brought several DVDs but could not get them to work in the built-in player. The controls for the television were confusing (3 remotes and 2 external boxes) but we figured it out.
Buy your own tap water. The tap water tastes bad.
Scott C. Nov 2016
Beautiful views, excellent amenities, great beds. Good vacation spot. We've been here before and plan to return.
Martha V. Nov 2016
As an avid birder, I've always envied people who could have a spotting scope set up in the living room overlooking the ocean, and for a week I could do just that. Walks to the beach and drives along the Three Capes Loop provided additional hiking and birding opportunities. We also were able to do some incredible storm watching. Besides having amazing views, the Crow's Nest was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. I've already recommended it to a friend.
Ahoi M. Oct 2016
I first stayed at Berni's Castle about 45 years ago but haven't been back for over 25. I was happy to find it still there and remodeled and improved. We had a wonderful time.
Jennifer S. Sep 2016
Nice property, with great view. Accommodations were nice.
Chris A. Sep 2016
The property is quaint and homey. And the view was AMAZING! Oceanside is a lovely town, not at all over crowded and touristy. Dining is limited. Rosanna's is it for dinner (delicious, but a little high priced) and Blue Agate is open until 3 pm. The Cows Nest was a beautiful place to stay and we enjoyed ourselves. Only complaints, the furniture i.e., beds and sofa wasn't all that comfortable but we went for the beach. Would stay again.
Nicole M. Sep 2016
This is a quaint little place to stay an has an amazing view of the ocean from the window. The Oceanside beach is relaxing and not over populated. We were often one of four families using the beach when we went. There was much to explore and the scenery was beautiful. The beds were soft, and the kitchen had the necessary utensils to cook meals. This is important because there are no restaurant's for dinner, except for one overly priced dinner (unless you want to drive to Tillamook and even then your options are limited). Overall, it is a great stay in a beautifully remodeled beach house. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
Leigh S. Aug 2016
This condo was perfect for our family of 4 and small dog. We all had ample room (2 kids in one room and us in the other) and an amazing view of Three Arch Rocks. We hope to stay here again on our next trip to Oceanside!
Jill W. Aug 2016
The view and convenience to the beautiful beach is what makes this a great rental house. It was perfectly sized for our family of three. The kitchen was adequate and convenient for making meals at home. The dining room table was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the view. And the small balcony was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the sunrise or sunset! With just a short walk down the hill to the beach, it was nice to go for a walk or to play for an hour or two and then easily head home for lunch - and then back to the beautiful beach again!

Oceanside is a quaint seaside town. The beach is one of the most beautiful in Oregon. Grab a cup of coffee or enjoy the crab cakes for breakfast at The Blue Agate. Cape Meares and Cape Lookout parks, both just minutes away, are a must. Visit Cape Meares at sunset - the summer crowds are gone and the sunset view looking back at the three arches is breathtaking!

Though I read several reviews saying the beds were comfy, we found the mattresses a bit hard. It is also time for new comforters, pillow shams, etc. It would be nice to have screens on the windows. We enjoyed opening the bedroom windows and seaside windows for fresh ocean air, but had to put up with bugs flying in. There is also a bright street light outside the bedroom windows. Light reducing shades would really help on the bedroom windows. Generally, the house was cleaned ok, but it could use a good deep cleaning. Light fixtures, baseboards, lamp shades, cabinets above the stove, etc. were dusty and greasy.

Also note that this home has three units. Most of our neighbors were quiet and courteous. However, the walls are thin and neighbors can be heard next door and below if the windows are open or if others are on the shared deck. Just something to consider if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat.
Dean L. Jul 2016
Cozy vacation spot with great ocean view. Enjoyed it immensely!
Alisa G. Jul 2016
Great view of the ocean quiet place. A good vacation spot.
Veronica O. Jun 2016
Loved our time here, four days wasn't enough!!! We can't wait to come back! They had all the kitchen utensils needed for cooking and I cooked all but 2 meals here! Definitely do your shopping at a grocery store in Tillamook. Dinning out options in town are limited but make time for Rosannes if you like seafood!! So delicious!! The check in process was easy and seamless as well as the checkout!! Can't wait to come back!!
Andrea V. Jun 2016
Great views especially of the sunsets.
Michelle Z. May 2016
Highlights: the little stove fireplace and the amazing view!

I had to reach out to Vacasa to get the key-code email because I did not get it 7-days in advance as the confirmation email stated. Thanks to other reviews on this house, I knew to reach out to Vacasa as this is a consistent issue. So heads up if you're looking to stay here.

Another issue encountered was the DVD player. It was old and did not work well. We had to skip Harry Potter #1 and #8, as well as a few LOTR discs (yes; we had a nerd-reunion and these movies were important to our experience!).

On the plus side, this apartment/house (not standalone) is absolutely stunning. I would definitely return and recommend this cozy little spot to anyone!
Linda P. Apr 2016
A lovely place to stay on the Oregon coast!
Bob & Kristi Z. Apr 2016
Our family of 5 was here for 4 nights and it worked out very well. The residence is clean and has great views of the bay. We even saw whales on the last day from the bay window while eating! It is in close proximity to the beach. If you are going to make meals, buy your items as you pass through Tillamook - as it is about 10 miles away.
Great place to stay
CHARLEs N. Apr 2016
Wonderful place to stay! Beautiful vantage point for an outstanding view! Very clean. We loved every moment.
Sheila A. Apr 2016
We had the most lovely 3 day stay at Bernies's Castle. My only caveat would be the hike to the beach is downhill, which means the hike back up is up steep hills. If you have problems walking you would want to drive down to the beach, which is very easy access. The view from the dining area is gorgeous, and the accommodations were excellent: clean, comfortable and well maintained.
Jeremy H. Mar 2016
Beautiful cottage with an amazing view! Stayed here for our first visit to the Oregon coast . Loved the crow's nest! Very clean and has all you need for a home away from home. Can't wait to come back. Already miss waking up to the view and sounds of the ocean.
Jaclyn P. Feb 2016
A wonderful vaca except for some construction going on in another part of the house, so you might want to check that there won't be this extra noise before you book your stay. Clean with a lovely view and cozy fireplace.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see that the painters caused you any inconvenience during your stay. Noise should no longer be an issue now that the work is completed.
Holly H. Dec 2015
The cottage is so warm and inviting. Perfectly appointed with comfortable beds and living space. The kitchen had everything I needed for my stay. The views -- were incredible. It was my favorite spot for my 10 day excursion through the Oregon coast.

The key code was not included in the check in instructions. You may find that you have no cell or wifi coverage in Oceanside (I have Verizon; very reliable). I had to drive out of town to get cell service and sit on the side of the road in the cold, late at night, to call VACASA. I was only able to reach voicemail. I later found in other comments that "other than check in issues, the property was great" and I have since heard from friends that had issues with the key code omissions and have had to find a hotel because no one would respond to their calls either. It was the following day after 1pm before I received a call from anyone to verify that I was able to check in. Had I not been resourceful and persistent, the review would be entirely different because I would have found another place to stay. WARNING TO OTHER RENTERS: CONFIRM KEY CODE WITH VACASA BEFORE ARRIVING ON SITE. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS ORGANIZATION
Manager response:
We apologize that you did not receive your entry code and are working on fixing this fluke in our emails. We appreciate your patience with us and are glad to see that you enjoyed the home itself!

This is a beautiful location just a short walk from the beach and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked should you wish to cook, the property is well maintained and the reservation process is easy! We had a great, very relaxing time here and really enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay for two here at the Crow's Nest. It was quiet, well stocked with a fantastic view.

Beautiful quiet town (Oceanside), the unit was nicely decorated, the view from the dinning room was amazing, very quiet surroundings, the only negative was the balcony was too small to be used and was obstructed by a tree. I would still recommend the unit as there are many other positives that more than make up for the balcony.

the view of the Pacific was spectacular. Very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay

The location is absolutely fantastic! A quiet small town, with a gorgeous beach. I loved that we could take walks through town and the beach. The rental was quiet and peaceful, even with other renters in the attached rentals. A great place for peace and a short drive to Tillamook and other sites. The rental has an absolute breathtaking view, I found myself spending time just sitting and watching the tides. I didn't want to leave.
Manager response:
Thank you for the wonderful review! We are so delighted that you loved your stay so much that you didn't want to leave. The views certainly are phenomenal and we are glad to hear that the location worked so well for your trip. We hope that you'll stay with us again! Thank you for choosing Vacasa!

We loved the Crows Nest! The view is breathtaking! We saw gray whales and sea lions. The house was very clean and comfortable. Hope to return some day!

This home was lovely!! Perfect for 3 to 4 people! We watched amazing sunsets and not just Seagulls flying by our window, but also hang-gliders! I think there is a rental below our house to hang-glide. We'd sip our wine and watch them glide down and softly land on the beach below! It was so cool to watch! STRONGLY recommend this wonderful home and if you need a bigger one, then right below us is a 10 - 12 person home, I believe.

We had a great time at Bernie's castle. The accommodations were very nice and the view was amazing. It was perfect for our small family. The place had everything we needed and was very clean. We highly recommend the crow's nest.

I agree with what one person has already written..upon entering you spend the first 30 minutes taking in the view and noticing all the cute features of the place. When you grab your towel after a shower your only thought is ... luxurious. The tub was slow to drain, but I'm sure they will fix that.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your time at this charming rental and were able to simply take time to appreciate the amazing view. The owners certainly have taken great care in ensuring the home has nice features and touches to make stays more comfortable for guests. Thank you for letting us know about the bathtub drain, I will notify the property manager so he can address the issue. We appreciate your comments regarding your experience at this home and hope that you'll keep us in mind next time you visit Oceanside.

We spent two days watching a monumental NW storm roll into the coast. This is a perfect spot for an unobstructed view. It's small but cozy and comfortable.

We enjoyed a Girls Getaway at Bernie's #1. While the weather was not cooperative (rain), we enjoyed the wonderful view and comfortable accommodations. It took a bit to find the DVD player which was on the side of the TV. Overall, very happy. Just wish we could stay a bit longer.

The view is spectacular, and this is a comfortable little vacation getaway! We came for girls weekend and had pretty much everything we needed for a peaceful, fun experience.

We loved our 4 days that we stayed at Berni's caslte. it was such a beautiful view out the dining room windows, I don't know how many numerous pictures we took of the view since it was always different depending on the sun, clouds, time of day, etc. It was a great place to unwind after a day of hiking and sightseeing. We enjoyed having comfortable beds and couch and all the necessary utensils in the kitchen. I would definitely stay there agaiin if we ever go to that area.

We usually rent ocean front houses, but the view from this suite (high above) is just better.
The house has a panoramic view of the ocean and the rocks and is nicely done with enough room for max to 4 people.
The little private balcony has great views and keeps the wind away.
There is also a large deck for BBQ and parties that is shared with the other 2 suites (we didn't use it, but it was available the whole time we were there).
Manager response:
Thank you for this great feedback. We love the panoramic view from this home! It's a very comfortable unit and perfect for a small family or a romantic getaway. We hope you'll visit again!

We loved this place! The kitchen is so well stocked, there is nothing that hasn't been thought of, you could even bake a pie if you wanted to! The suite is very clean and nicely decorated. The expansive views are incredible and it's a short walk to the beach. Tillamook is about a 15 minute drive away so you can stock up on groceries and Oceanside is nicely situated that you can do day trips to Cannon Beach or Lincoln City.
Manager response:
Thank you for this feedback. I am so happy to hear you enjoyed the home and your stay with us. I am glad you were able to enjoy the gorgeous beach, especially at low tide when you can see lots of star fish and other sea creatures. We hope you stay with us again soon!
