El Prado is a quiet residential area in northern New Mexico, just north of the historic town of Taos and on the way to Taos Ski Valley, near the village of Arroyo Seco.

A car is recommended for exploring Taos and the surrounding area. The town of Taos and its Plaza are a few minutes south, Taos Ski Valley is about a 30 minute drive, and Albuquerque International Sunport is roughly 2.5 hours away. If traveling to the ski valley, it's recommended to use AWD or 4x4 during the winter season.
