The Village of Surfside Beach has inconsistent tap water quality.

We recommend using bottled water for drinking and cooking.

Occasionally, the water may appear yellowish from the tap or in toilets — this is normal and safe for bathing.

You may also notice an occasional odor in the water, which is a known characteristic of the local water supply. While it may be unpleasant, it is not harmful for showering or general use.
