Recent Loreto vacation rental reviews

This lovely home is located on a peaceful area in Loreto, if you are looking for some time to share precious moments with you family, this home will be excellent for you. I is very close to the beach, you will be able to listen to the waves, and admire the beautiful Sea of Cortez. It is a few feet from a lap pool in which you can exercise your swimming routine or just enjoy taking a sun bath. Definitely this is a house with a A++ grade.

The location was good. Close to beach access. Close to the Market. Close to the lovely La Sierena Baja Cafe that had great Cappuccinos! The home was very spacious especially the bedrooms. We enjoyed the upstairs Lanai’s with Mountain and Ocean views. Kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals.

Where is Loreto?

Situated in a scenic cove overlooking the Sea of Cortez, the small city of Loreto is on Mexico's Baja California peninsula, about 315 miles north of Cabo San Lucas. The Sierra de la Giganta mountain range provides a stunning backdrop, filled with outstanding outdoor recreation and historic archeological cave sites.

With an amazing location right on the beach, Loreto offers a perfect mix of historic colonial architecture and ocean activities. Whether you're looking for relaxing sandy beaches or adventurous diving expeditions, this laid-back and richly cultured town has something for everyone. Check out laid-back Loreto Bay for even more options.

Culture & History in Loreto

As the first Spanish colonial settlement on the Baja Peninsula, Loreto was originally founded in 1697 by Jesuit missionaries. Today, the town features historic colonial buildings, including the Misión de Nuestra Señora de Loreto, a beautiful 17th-century church.

Enjoy an inviting, small-town feel as you immerse yourself in local Mexican life. The streets of Loreto are often filled with festivals and parades - most importantly the Feast of Our Lady of Loreto. This annual festival is held every September in honor of the city's patron saint, featuring lots of fun activities, pilgrims and locals from around the area, and several sports tournaments to commemorate the occasion.

For an unforgettable day trip, head out to the Sierra la Giganta mountain range about nine miles from the city. You'll be able to explore amazing caves and notable archaeological sites with ancient abstract figures and cave paintings.

Beach Activities in Loreto

Indulge in a relaxing day on the sandy beaches surrounding the city of Loreto. When you stay at one of our vacation rentals, you'll have your pick of beautiful beaches and nearby islands to explore for the perfect tropical retreat.

Loreto Bay offers great beaches for swimming and diving, along with several nearby islands. Explore the small island of Montserrat for more beaches or Isla del Carmen for amazing diving. Colorful coral reefs surround the area offering an amazing spectacle filled with thriving marine life.

Loreto Bay is known for sightings of dolphins, sea turtles, and much more. In the winter, humpback whales and occasionally even blue whales can be spotted from February through April. If you're an avid scuba diver or snorkeler, this is a prime time to visit!

Plan a relaxing getaway to Loreto, and enjoy all the rewards our vacation rentals provide.
