Recent Toccoa River vacation rental reviews

This was a wonderful cabin with the perfect charm. A 3/4 wrap-around deck that let you look over the river. The kitchen is small but we weren't staying for that. Wanted accessibility to the Toccoa. It was generating most of the weekend and nothing anyone can do about that, but there's a section you the property the jets out a little into the river and when generating, it creates a calm section of water to still get in and relax. We enjoyed playing pool at the end of the day. There were some sugar ants inside the house, nothing really bothersome and they came and dropped off some chemicals to get rid of the ants (likely from guests leaving food out and not cleaning up properly after meals). I would highly recommend this cabin, especially given the value. Some of the guests in our party used to live on the Toccoa and were already looking to see the cabins availability in the future for them to come back and stay.

The cabin was lovely. Just the right fit for our small family. The only con is that you have to hike a short distance and cross the railroad track to get to the river for fishing… so not quite on-site fishing as we were expecting. Overall a great cabin and a great stay.

The cozy little space was perfect for two. It was very clean upon arrival. The location was great for getting to downtown Blue Ridge! The “Container” has a very nice roof over a portion of the porch now which is not shown in the existing photographs, however it made it perfect for sitting outside, even when it rained, and is a really nice touch to the home! We’ll definitely be back!

Where is the Toccoa River?

The Toccoa is a river with two names. In entirety, this blue ribbon of water spans 93 miles through the southern Appalachian Mountains, covering two states. The first 37 miles that flow through Tennessee are called the Ocoee River, but as soon as it crosses the Georgia border, its name changes to Toccoa. These remaining 56 miles are where you'll find our beautiful cabins.

Things to do near our Toccoa River cabin rentals

Toccoa means “beautiful” in the Cherokee language, and that’s exactly what you’ll find here: beauty and abundance in nature. Choose from a number of nearby hiking trails that cover a variety of terrain, from picturesque swinging bridges to cascading waterfalls to the sparkling Blue Ridge Lake.

If you’d prefer an aquatic adventure, the lake is a great place to launch your boat for the day. Of course, the Toccoa River itself offers plenty of great places for adventures like white water rafting, tubing, or kayaking. And don’t forget the incredible fishing that the area is so well-known for—Blue Ridge Lake is the place to head for bass, while the Lower Toccoa River is a top spot for trout fishing.

Our Toccoa River cabin rentals are peppered amid a number of quaint towns with cute Appalachian flair, like Blue Ridge, Morganton, and Mineral Bluff. No matter where you choose your home away from home, you’ll be treated to iconic Blue Ridge Mountains beauty with a healthy dose of southern charm.
