My son and I spent most of our time enjoying fantastic R & R under a nice large shade tree in cushioned adirondack chairs, watching the water, (lobsters pots set out front with small boats working them), listening to the lapping waves, & birds. The sunrises and sunsets were incredible!! The water and sky views are visible from kitchen, living room and library windows, but we were fortunate to have great weather to be outside. As other guests have mentioned it's tricky to spot the driveway and we had a smaller vehicle which made the turn off the road do-able. If possible arrive before dark as we found it tricky (even with phone flashlights) to make the way from parking down to the cabin (a fairly long sloping grassy path with bushes, shrubs, trees on both sides) - this was much more pleasurable and navigable with daylight. Initially we were looking for key box at the wrong door (you see the laundry room door first), till we looked better and found the living room door - and all went fine from there. Again I am sure we would have been better during the daylight but it added to the fun adventure my son and I were on. This rustic cabin has really beautiful wood paneling, doors, and artisan work. The 2 person bed was comfortable but the single bed was very hard (and I chose the couch which I did awake to an amazing sunrise every morning). As noted from other guests, there were insects but nothing biting in our experience. Look for additional dishes in the beautiful antique dish cabinet just before the kitchen (and bathroom) doors. All the decor was choice for getting a historic vibe; antiques and old books were interesting - and also having bright colors of newer decor; nice cushions rugs etc. Wifi was good, and the space kept cool during day with overhead LR fan and AC unit. Plus there were other portable fans as well. Best part was the location for water/sky views!
