tldr; Works very well for us. We'd stay here again. Upon arrival, we couldn't find an elevator, so going up and down to the 3rd floor with our suitcase was a bit of exercise. However, locating on the 3rd floor is also inconvenient to many pests. We did not see a single insect, but a pest-controller gecko and birds on the patio. The room is very spacious for 2 adults, and having in-room laundry saved our luggage space massively. Heat-pump water heater is pretty good for providing both chill air and hot water, but could have a bit more of the water pressure on shower. When we seated on toilet, we found the TP holder is mounted at right-behind. We had some yoga-stretches when reaching to the paper. The host (or manager?) we talked over the text was very kind and nice. We reported a malfunctioning hair dryer and the replacement came on the very next day. The bedroom can have a bit more of sound proofing, but I was able to sleep without much of the distraction thanks to the ceiling fan and fatigues from daytime activities. The kitchen was well-equipped. Even has a rice cooker. We bought some cheap rice, discounted poke and salad mix for good meals in the expensive island. Walking distance to supermarket (which opens 24hr) was very convenient. Also happened to be one of the cheapest place to get the gas in the vicinity. Cheaper than Costco near the airport. This property was almost perfect to us. We'd like to stay here again.

We love the community vibe of the complex and you cant beat the salt water pool by the ocean. Can't wait to go back!

This is my second time in this unit. The views of the ocean and sunsets are unbeatable. The location is perfect as it puts near all the Kona hot spots. There are still signs of termites but it is a much better than my first stay. We enjoy and were very pleased with our 15 day stay at this unit.

Why vacation in Kona?

Kona is a place where tradition meets beach days. You’ll find historic heiau (temples), royal heritage sites, and scenic drives surrounded by lava fields, all just minutes from world-class snorkeling, fishing, and beachcombing. This side of the island stays dry and sunny year-round, making it the go-to destination for outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and sunset cruising. It’s also the heart of the island’s famous coffee belt, with scenic farms offering tours and tastings along the slopes of Hualālai volcano. While Kailua-Kona offers the hustle and harbor, the greater Kona District stretches out into peaceful coastal communities, upland rainforests, and oceanfront adventures.

Where to stay in the Kona District

Vacation rentals in Kona range from ocean-view condos in Kailua town to hillside homes nestled into the coffee-growing regions of Hōlualoa and Captain Cook. Whether you’re looking for beach access, privacy, or space to host a group, you’ll find a wide variety of options with island character and stunning vistas. Many rentals feature lanais with sunset views, outdoor showers, and access to both coastline and volcanically rich uplands, all within driving distance of shopping, farmers markets, beaches, and cultural sites.
