Went with my husband and son for Father's Day. We loved the close proximity to the Arnold Rim Trail. We went for a few hikes and then came back to soak in the hot tub, enjoying the scenery. My 7 year old son loved the little bed in the peak of the A frame. We will definitely be returning, next time will bring our mountain bikes for the trail!

I returned to this cabin a second time because it's a great place for a bigger family with dogs and it's close to Calaveras Big Trees and a lake we like to visit for fishing and swimming. There are plenty of beds, a nice fenced yard which has been updated since the last time we were there, and several games and activities for the kids. It's also really close to the grocery store which makes trips to get food much easier than some of the other cabins in Arnold that are more secluded. Most importantly in the summer, there's air conditioning that actually works and ceiling fans. It got pretty hot while we were there, but we were able to stay comfortable inside. The neighbors are nice and mostly locals and everyone we met in town was so friendly. The only thing I will caution is that the beds are very firm. It's not a deal breaker as this is a great cabin, especially for the price, but if you have health issues that cause pain in your back or just prefer a softer bed or are used to memory foam, it'll take some getting used to. Overall it's a great place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
