Incredible Maine home with ocean views, walk to Boothbay Harbor

This lovely and charming three-bedroom Boothbay Harbor vacation rental is perched on a hilltop overlooking the harbor below, with some ocean and lighthouse views.

The Historic Harrington House is just one block from Boothbay Harbor shops, restaurants, art galleries, and the stunning Atlantic Ocean. You'll be just over 16 miles away from the nearby community of Damariscotta and about 13 miles from Wiscasset.

Out front, you'll find a large stone patio complete with comfortable lounge furniture, the perfect place to enjoy the cool ocean breeze with a cup of coffee or a summer cocktail. The front yard is perfect for lawn games. Head inside to discover a classic New England getaway with lots of natural light cascading in through numerous windows. The spacious living room boasts cool gray tones, comfortable furniture, and burnished hardwood floors. You can easily settle in for some lively conversation after a day of sightseeing around town.

Admire the whale artwork as you head into the full kitchen that includes stainless steel appliances, ample counter space, and all the cookware and utensils to satisfy the chef in you. The lovely dining room offers a built-in hutch filled with barware and glasses for your custom summer cocktails, and a perfect setting for an impromptu seafood feast with friends at the six-seat wooden dining room table. On the back deck, you'll find outdoor seating and a gas and charcoal grill for those lazy evening barbecues while you take in the fresh ocean air.

At the back of the house, you'll find a large family room with an oversized striped sectional sofa, hardwood floors, and a 55" Smart TV. The large picture window looks out onto the back deck. For entertainment, you will find a movie library for those fun movie nights with lots of hot buttered popcorn. This home also includes WiFi so you can easily check emails or use your laptop to stream movies online. There is also a full bath and laundry on the main level.

Head upstairs to check out the three bedrooms and one full bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed enveloped in a printed blue-and-white coverlet, a white armchair, and light blue walls. A second bedroom with a nautical theme features two twin beds, perfect for kids or easily pushed together for a couple. There is also a loft for hours of fun. The third bedroom is perfect for a young family as it has one queen bed and a daybed with pull-out trundle (two twins), two built-in dressers, and a desk for those who want to spend some time working or writing. Additional amenities include window air conditioning in every room, games, books, an Atari gaming system, and an outdoor fire pit for telling ghost stories and making after-dinner S'mores.

Boothbay Harbor is the preeminent destination in the Boothbay Region. You'll find cozy seaside eateries, lovely mom-and-pop shops, a saltwater taffy factory, a local brewery, antiques, and lots of galleries on a quick walk down the hill. Stroll through the streets and admire the local works, walk across the harbor on the footbridge or head out on a whaling tour or fishing expedition via one of the many charters in the area. The Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) offers plenty of hiking trails for all levels, several are a walk from the home. There is a working Lighthouse tour, a llama farm, an aquarium, and a world-renowned botanical garden all just a 5-10 minute drive from the home.

We had a fantastic girls weekend away. There was lots of space for all 4 of us to relax, kick back and enjoy some time together. We loved sitting out on the front patio in the sun and walking to town in the morning to poke around shops. The house was SO CLEAN! And there were so many sweet little touches from the cleaners too. It made us all feel at ease and comfortable knowing how well this home is cared for. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We enjoyed our stay in Bay Harbor! The house is perfectly located close to town and within short driving distance of several parks and preserves. The yard was spacious for the kids to run around and fire pit fun for s`mores making. Beds could have been more comfortable, but overall experience was positive. We had a great stay in Boothbay. We were there for a we were there for a wedding so did not spend much time in the house. Worked out great for our family. An added shower would make the place greaat! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We enjoyed our stay very much. House was a 5 min. short walk to the quaint center of Boothbay Harbor and you could easily reserve a cruise as the ticketing and boats were right in the village.

Home was very spacious with two queen beds in one room with very large bathroom and a queen in another room with a third twin bedroom. Lovely backyard with deck and a barbecue which we used one night.

The only suggestion I have is perhaps there should be 5 more dinner plates and a few more salad plates so we could the run a full dishwasher load instead of a partial load after using all the dinner plates. Also a few plastic unbreakable cups for children would be good.

Nice house and very, very clean and we would happily reserve again.

The Harrington House was perfect for our family`s vacation to the Boothbay area. The house was very clean, spacious, and inviting with local decor. We had a couple of questions regarding our stay and the Turnkey team was very responsive. We visited several surrounding towns during our stay and decided that Boothbay Harbor was the place to be, with plenty of shops and restaurants. So glad we chose this house! Although the house is not far from town, we did not walk because we had small children with us and the steep incline on the way back made walking too much of a challenge for us. However, it was easy to drive down the hill, find a parking spot, and walk throughout the town from there. As others have noted, the bathrooms are an unusual set up but it worked out fine for our party of six... 4 adults and 2 children. We would definitely return to the Harrington House! The house was lovely, very accommodating, all linens were clean. The house is perfect for a girls weekend or a family stay! There were a few things that could have been dusted a little bit better, some cobwebs and spiders in places but nothing crazy. We had a very nice stay at the Harrington House. The house was clean and had all the amenities you could expect and more. It was generally comfortable and there was plenty of space on the first floor. The neighborhood was nice and the house was in a perfect location for enjoying the downtown area. We really enjoyed the house.

The main downsides are the upstairs bathroom and the tenants above the garage. Don`t get me wrong, the tenants are wonderful people as far as I could tell, but having them around the property does take away from the privacy. The biggest downside is the upstairs bathroom. Having a bedroom only be accessible via the upstairs bathroom is pretty annoying, makes little sense, and is pretty awkward.

Lastly, and this would only be a problem for some, the stairs can be difficult to climb. My father is disabled and couldn`t make it up the stairs. Fortunately he was comfortable on the couch in the backroom. Not a knock on the house, just something for renters to be aware of.

Overall we had a great stay and would recommend the house. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We had two families staying for a weekend. House was very clean. Easy walk to the little downtown area and port. First floor bath is a little small but worked fine. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Lovely house as shown. Great location to town! We had four young children with us and they loved the house, yard, and quiet street for scooting! Walk to town is steep and without sidewalks for some of it, so stroller recommended. Hot week when we were there so needed some A/C- units they had did the job but loud. A welcoming home that was perfect for a 4th of July BBQ! There are renters in an attached property, which was fine just not noted in description.
