We had a great stay. Layout and location are pretty ideal for a little family snow getaway. And it was great to have the indoor garage for the unexpected high snowfall! Plus happy to see that the Collins Lake Resort roads get plowed promptly. Beds were comfy, & we loved the rainfall showerhead in the master shower.

My husband and I brought our family of 6 here for a weekend of skiing. It was so close to the slopes and walking distance to the little town which was perfect. While it is a townhome it was still very quiet. I absolutely loved the amount of space I had in the kitchen and there was no shortage of tools or utensils. The beds were very comfortable! I loved that there was enough seating space for everybody comfortably in the living room and enough room around the kitchen table. When you have this many people having a third bathroom is key so we appreciated having one on the main floor Also be aware there are quite a few stairs. One from the garage up to the main living level as well as another set to get to the bedroom level Well this offers access to the pool and hot tub this really wasn’t a stand out feature. The hot tub is very small and truly can only accommodate a few people so having an open to the community was kind of a downfall. We just chose not to access these services. Overall I would stay here again. I really look forward to our next trip!

This place is in need of some serious updates. The carpet is worn and covered in spots, presumably from pets as my dogs went crazy about the smells. The walls all need repainting and the furniture has wear, rips and stains on every single piece. While we loved the 3 bathrooms, the toilets didn’t flush well. The kitchen has a lot of appliances and dishes but was lacking spoons. There were only 3 total.

The grounds were great. We enjoyed the trails nearby for hiking and biking. The pool and hot tub were great too. We liked where this unit was situated as it felt more private from the deck. If you are traveling with someone that can’t do many stairs, I’d skip these condos as they have several flights to navigate.

I loved the location and all the home had to offer.... beautiful inside and out... clean and comfortable. Really appreciated how all of the switches were labeled... great home

Wonderful townhouse. Loved that we could stoll into Government camp for coffee and also walk to Mt. Hood Brewing and the adventure park. Mirror Lake trail head is also really close by. We used the townhouse as our base and ventured out to Astoria, Cannon Beach, Mt. Rainier National Park, Mt. St. Helens and Crater Lake National Park. We also spent plenty of time hiking on Mt. Hood and ventured to play in the mid-July snow abouve the timberline! It was little wierd during the pandemic but all in all a wonderful trip and a welcome reprieve from the craziness in the world at the moment. The townhouse was very spacious, well equiped, clean and comfortable. The deck with forest views and grill were great and we loved the cool July temps of upper 30's and lower 40s in the morning!

Can't beat the location and amenities. The unit needs a few things and I blame this on the cleaning crew. It was not swept/vacuumed upon moving in. The main floor toilet leaks so you have to jiggle the handle or manual fix the flap so it stops running (a personal pet peeve and pretty irresponsible not t be fixed,) No towels in the downstairs bathroom so I had to use a dishtowel. No washclothes anywhere in the house. Otherwise things were nice. I would consider staying here again but would ask this to be fixed before arriving next time.

Very cozy home away from home. We were bummed that they cancelled Mount Hood Meadows for the rest of the season but still managed to enjoy the weekend in this lovely place.

Had a great time and loved the proximity to government camp! Beds were all comfortable and plenty of space for 6 adults! Would recommend!

House, location, the cleanliness, and nicely stocked with regular things
Yun P. Dec 2018
The home is very well decorated with comforts of home. Location is great, we enjoyed the walk around the lake. Thank you for being pet friendly!!!!
Kitchen is fully stocked, not sure why these homes never have salt and pepper....
I know it’s hard at times to keep the temperature even through the house, especially when the bedrooms are on the 3rd floor. The bunk room does not have a window so there was no way to cool down the room.
We appreciated all the light switches being labeled so we didn’t have to guess what they were for.
I would rate this home a 4.5 out of 5!
This is a great place and we will definitively be back!

The layout was spacious and the amenities were great. The hot tub, pool and sauna were available even in November. We had everything we could have needed for a great stay. Thanks!
Aurora L. Aug 2018
Loved the place, it was spacious, clean, cozy and fully equipped with everything one might need.
Jules H. Aug 2018
Our family enjoyed our stay. The condo set up is excellent, we loved the three layers with the garage, living space and then bedrooms. Having access to the pool and soaking tub was a plus. The internet was a tad spotty but I expected that due to the location. Beds were comfy! All the basics to enjoy your stay plus the area is beautiful. We had a small issue occur, and we called the manager directly. He had it corrected in no time....Thank you!!!! See you next time!

Loved the convenience to Govt Camp! Kitchen was fully stocked, very clean and great amenities. Having a garage to pull your vehicle is such a nice bonus when staying everywhere. I am BAFFLED by charging a rate PER PERSON though!? When you sign up, ensure if it is the wife and you to sign up as one person. Even though you only occupy one bed, one set of laundry - you will be charged PER PERSON. Knowing is half the battle, as GI Joe says. Since I needed a place to stay for a 50 mile race nearby, after I got in off the waitlist, all other options were booked, including reservable camp sites. Wonderful place, but $400 for a night when arriving at 6 pm, and leaving at 3:00 am is really steep for us working stiffs! Also should note, that upon entering the unit, you must go up a set of stairs to the main area and the bedrooms are up another set (just a note to those less mobile). Great communication leading up to the actual stay.

The home was clean and comfortable. I stayed there mid-week, so the entire property was very quiet, which was nice. The hot tub and sauna were great after a day of skiing. I had my dog with me and appreciated the dog waste stations throughout the complex. I would definitely stay again.
Diane F. Jan 2018
The condo's kitchen is well equipped. The building the condo is in is probably the best area on the property. The master bedroom backs up to a wooded area which is very nice.
Jennifer F. Dec 2017
This was a great chalet. The place was very nicely furnished and a lot of space. The kitchen had great cookware. Would definitely stay here again.
Jennifer H. Nov 2017
We had a great time ! Our condo was booked last minute and we were very satisfied with our trip! Our condo was clean , neet and tidy !! We had all the things we needed and enjoyed our stay !!!
LeighAnn M. Oct 2017
This home was clean and comfortable. I gave it four stars only because of its layout. The two sets of steep stairs were problematic and difficult for our older adults with hip and knee issues. You can not get anywhere in the unit without having to use them. We rented three homes in this complex for a family gathering, The location, space and amenities were great, but the stairs limited several family members. That is the only reason we would not stay here again.
Robert S. Sep 2017
Would love to stay again.
Carrie E. Sep 2017
Loved every minute of our stay! Patio surrounded by forest and private, well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture. You can tell that this unit gets lots of use and could use a bit of freshening up.
Hilary E. Aug 2017
Really well kitted out place if you want to stay in this area, but if you want to use wifi don't follow the instructions in the house file which tell you to check that the router is plugged in. If still not working then unplug and replug etc. After wasting time looking in every cupboard etc we found out that there was no router.
Also main TV did not work.
Raina F. Jul 2017
Nice proximity to Mt. Hood. Spacious, nice furniture, garage, washer/dryer, and hot tub access all make this a nice place to stay.
Lisa A. Jun 2017
The house was perfect for our for our needs and I would highly recommend it.
Elsa M. Apr 2017
The house has a very well equipped kitchen, which is not common in many vacation rental properties. You could plan a culinary weekend here, as you would have everything you should need in this kitchen.

Had a great time in the swimming and warming pool with the kids.
Cathy P. Dec 2016
Dog friendly property close to everything
Kathleen L. Dec 2016
I had a nice time at this condo and I would return again.
Kathleen L. Dec 2016
Very clean. Comfortable beds. I would return again in spite of a few setbacks that we had.
Ryan Y. Nov 2016
Great place at a great price. Everything you needed, and more!
Lauren L. Oct 2016
Great rental for a girls weekend! Comfortable and clean living spaces with good kitchen for communal cooking and eating. Balcony had a very restful view and proximity to Government Camp and the mountain are unbeatable. Coffee shop and cafes on the main street are only a short walk away, plus Mt Hood Brewing is a 10 minute walk! Great spot for family, couples, or groups of friends - plus dog friendly!
Megan W. Sep 2016
This is a well priced clean and comfortable condo in a great location. Just don't expect wifi (despite advertising it) or a call back from vacasa or local management.
Kathaleen M. Aug 2016
We had the perfect weekend. Fun nights, playing games and laughing.
Very comfy beds and spacious patio. Looking forward to coming back for our future girls weekends!
Andrew H. Aug 2016
We spent three nights and four days here with our sister-in-law and her two kids. We all had a great time and the house was perfect for what we needed. We ate most meals in… But tried the Japanese food truck and it was awesome! This condo is perfectly located in the middle of everything with convenient walking to the stores, as well as leisure walking on the little trails around the area. Short of spices and oils, the kitchen had everything that we needed to cook with. We are already discussing coming back in the future!
Jane B. Jul 2016
Loved the condo. It was clean and quiet and had everything we needed. Especially liked the very comfortable beds! Would definately stay here again.
Kathy N. Jun 2016
Awesome place for family!

Reservation process was typical Vacasa. Everything went smoothly, by the numbers, and included good and helpful details.

The town home was in excellent shape. Everything was quite new and well cleaned. It was nice to use the garage. The kitchen was well appointed and equipped, although we expected at least salt and pepper. Would also liked to see plastic wrap and aluminum foil for the leftovers. But we also understand these are non-guaranteed consumables, so no biggie. The furnitures and beds were comfortable. The wireless worked well and had plenty of speed, but it was one of those that would kick you off if your device went to sleep. Just have to keep that in mind. The entertainment system worked well. Would like to see an easy accessible HDMI port so guests can plug in a streaming device to watch something other than basic cable. And since this is one of those narrow tall structures, there are some stairs. Just something to be aware of.

The complex had a trail system through the woods, and we took them to walk into town, as well as go for walks with our dog. It wasn't crowded when we were visiting. A couple of nights some folks were out chatting at a back deck nearby well past 11pm, but the windows were good enough that, once closed, I couldn't hear them.

Overall, a very nice place to stay. Comfortable, well appointed, and convenient.

This condo is in a quiet location on the property. Great 1 pet friendly unit. Our kids loved the pool and hot tub. It was clean, nicely decorated and beds were super comfy! We would recommend to anyone!
Rob R. Jul 2015
We found the facility to be relaxing and comfortable.
Karen C. May 2014
I so appreciate people who are willing to rent to dog owners. The dogs seem to relax us and give such great companionship on a vacation. I was impressed with so many dog stations though it looks like plenty of people did not use it.
The chefs condo had really nice dishes ,pans and appliances. The furniture was very comfortable. The bedding was really nice.
Three bathrooms was a great luxury as well. The garage was quite a surprise for loading and unloading the car out of the weather.
Loved the spot! Karen and her dog maggi

Beautiful property in a great location. Very close to Ski Bowl, Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood Meadows, and dozens of picturesque snowshoeing/cross-country skiing trails (we recommend White River Canyon). Hope to stay here again soon.
Michael K. Sep 2013
The place is very clean and has everything in the kitchen. The only comment is that it is noisy at night. It seems that this is not the only unit that may have this problem as I read other reviews of different units. The location is really close to the highway and of course the density of buildings and units is high. So if it's not the highway noise then it's people outside having falling asleep was a bit tough.
Trina W. Aug 2013
Plan to stay again next year.
Alan V. Mar 2013
Clean, well equipped and in a great location.
Julie S. Dec 2012
Very easy to book online and no hassle check in!
DEBRA K. Dec 2012

Too many stairs for a day after the mountain!
Tracy W. Dec 2012
Though we had to call the staff frequently due to door lock problems, they always responded helpfully, always positive, and when maintenance came out, he was SUPER nice as well. The staff makes things easy. Our house and stay was great aside from the lock issue.
Manager response:
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Chefs Chalet. The lock has been repaired and we hope for no future problems with the locking system.
Casey S. Jul 2012
Overall good experience. Just a few minor surprises: probably the worst disappointment was, inside the Monty Python and the Holy Grail DVD case (part of the owner's collection) was a instead a movie called "Funky Monkey"!
Cindy W. Apr 2012
Loved it! Clean, comfortable, awesome!
Kathleen B. Mar 2012
We LOVED our vacation! The condo was fabulous! We'll be back!
