Kahana offers a calmer alternative to the larger resort hubs while keeping West Maui's best-known stops within a reasonable drive. S-Turns Beach lies less than a mile south, a handy place for a short beach stop or picnic. Kaʻanapali to the south brings larger beach and dining options, while Kapalua to the north adds bays, golf, and a scenic coastal feel. Nearby local eateries make a low-key dinner possible without a big plan. Couples who prefer oceanfront quiet over a busy resort atmosphere will feel at home here.

What’s nearby:
Walk to nearby local and national eateries or take a short drive south (to Ka'anapali) or north (to Kapalua) for an abundance of eating, shopping, and golfing options. Pack a picnic and head less than a mile south to S-Turns Beach for waves, sand, and picnic areas. You can also take a day trip to another island on Mokulele Airlines from nearby Kapalua airport.

Getting around:
Kahului Airport (OGG) is about 40 to 45 minutes from the Lahaina area along Maui's west side. A rental car is recommended for beaches, shopping, and dining along the coast, including Kaanapali and Kapalua. Nearby beaches may be just minutes away, but most destinations require driving. Parking is typically available in designated lots, though popular beaches and restaurants can fill up.
