You might also enjoy an evening under the stars on the brick patio out back. There's even a grill for making a nice steak dinner.

Of course, if you'd rather cook indoors, the kitchen has all the necessities - including a stove, mini refrigerator, coffee maker and a microwave. Prepare some seafood pasta, pour some cabernet, and enjoy a meal at the eat-in kitchen's dining table.

The luxurious bedroom has a queen-sized bed and comfortable furnishings, so you can have pleasant dreams of the day's activities. And with so much to do nearby, you'll certainly need some rest after a long day. La Jolla features some of the best golf courses, art galleries and aquariums. Great location. Enjoyed private patio.

Simple, easy, pleasant
Kim B. Apr 2022
Great location! The house is very basic. It was a place to crash and crash we did. Got in after dark and not a light to guide our way. 5 star location 3 star house - met in the middle and gave 4 stars.
Justin V. Mar 2022
We like that this cottage is only a couple of blocks to one of the best beaches in the area and to groceries and plenty to eat. The private yard was nice to hangout in and while basic the cottage had everything we needed.
Sharon C. Jan 2022
The casita was very close to the beach and within walking distance to a small market and restaurants. It’s located in a very nice area and we felt safe walking around in the evenings
Patrick B. Jan 2022
Convenient location that made for nice 20 k morning runs between this La Jolla location and Mission Beach San Diego and back. Great coastal views
Sandra C. Oct 2021
Wonderful vacation cottage. Everything was provided as described. It was so great to be near beach and be able to walk all around to La Jolla Cove and Bird Rock. We highly recommend. Be aware, the owners are non responsive to any needs or questions.
Manager response:

I am a single mother of 2 boys and we made the mistake of arriving at this property after dark. There were no signs in the front or back gate or on the parking spot. After I called and was given instructions to find it, we had to walk in total darkness because all of the exterior lighting was broke.

I got to know the handyman for this property too well during our stay. The pull out sofa broke halfway through our stay so we ended up sleeping on an air mattress for the rest of the stay.

The kitchen does not have enough electrical outlets so my son ended up unplugging the mini fridge in order to plug in the toaster.

One of the bedroom window panes was broken and was “fixed” with tape which tells you how well this property is maintained! A lot of the problems we encountered like exterior lighting were noted in reviews dating back to 2020 and were not resolved. The signage to the property could be easily and cheaply fixed, but even this was not done. It is sad to see such a great location in such disrepair!

Clean, but small.
Julie C. May 2021
My daughter and I had the best time staying here loved the cute cottage so comfy and homey. The beach is a hip skip and a jump I lived going to the beach early in the morning and just soak it all in. People here are so relaxed and Happy, I definitely will be coming back

Koky J. May 2021
Great location (walking distance to beach and cafes), parking, quiet, perfect amount of space for a couple
Jennifer M. Mar 2021
The location of this cottage was perfect for us. The beach is really about 1/2 block away. The beach is a very nice little stretch of sand with good waves for surfing or boogie boarding. The La Jolla area in general is very nice and if you get a chance, walk around the village. There are many shops and eateries. There are plenty of eating and shopping choices close to the cottage. Getting there was not much hassle. If you keep your eyes open and use a little common sense, you won’t have a problem finding it. The parking spot is not marked like the property states. There are numbers on the cottage 333 but you do have to look for them. The white gate is attached to the left side of the back of the cottage. Their description says next to the brown fence, but most of the houses back there have a brown fence. The cottage was quaint and the little brick yard is so nice. The kitchen was equipped enough for what we needed. We ate breakfast in and lunch and dinner out. The refrigerator is small, a little bigger than a bar fridge, so you can’t fit much at a time. There is a blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, and microwave. The bed is very soft. There are plenty of pillows. Our son slept on the couch and there are plenty of sheets and blankets. The bathroom is very small like others stated. There is plenty of storage for all your toiletries, but I had to keep the door open when I got out of the shower to dry off. The shower itself is very nice and the water pressure is great. Warning: The hot water gets extremely hot!!!! Be very careful. They have a hair dryer to use. The towels were very plush and soft but I think they were new and had not been washed or dried because the amount of fuzz we had left on our bodies and hair was comical. Garbage and recycle disposal is down the brick path that leads to the front of the house on the road.
One thing that didn’t really damper our stay but I wanted to mention is that the cottage was just surface clean. When you get to looking around it hasn’t had a deep clean in a long while. The cabinet doors have a lot of grease on them and makes them stick closed. The walls have dirty fingerprints and hand marks. Not sure if it needs to be washed or just a new paint job. Hopefully management will read this and have it deep cleaned. All in all we had a really great stay. I would consider staying here again as it was convenient and a great price.

Amazing beach shack 2 min walk from beach
Lincoln H. Feb 2021
My girlfriend and I loved the quaintness of this cottage. Super clean, well kept, and the perfect amount of space for two! We came here to celebrate our anniversary and get closer, and this little area did just that. There is so much to explore and everything is just a short walk or drive away, depending on your preference. The beach is literally a 3-5 minute walk from the cottage! The only drawback to this location is the alley parking but there is plenty of street parking as well. We will definitely consider this place again when we are in need of another getaway!
Heather T. Nov 2020
This was a great location so close to a beautiful beach. My only wish was that there had been a filter in the Brita water pitcher. It's not a big deal but it would have been nice to have something other than tap water.
Debra C. Oct 2020
So close to beach and La Jolla Blvd.
MARY D. Oct 2020
We chose to stay in the cottage rather than a hotel for a few days while in town for a surgery at a nearby hospital. Location is among some very nice/expensive homes and so close to the beach! You can walk to the shore in a matter of a minute or 2. The cottage is a back house and accessible via the alley. Nice to have a designated parking space as well.
Things to note... The home is older and does not have a/c. In addition, a couple windows do not open as painted shut or non-opening. Front door pretty much needs to be left open all day to get a better cross breeze when warm. The bathroom is quite tiny. Several windows have been replaced to newer, but not all. A window unit or small a/c unit would be a great addition to this cottage.
A couple repairs are currently needed such as bathroom window shade is broken, all 3 walk way light do not work, tv remote needs batteries, and floors could use a good mopping (our socks were pretty dirty at the end of the day).
Overall it was lovely to see sunset daily and feels very safe and secure with private gates.
BJ C. Aug 2020
The cottage is very well located but impossible to find. Even Siri couldn't find it! No Instructions at front house. No markings in Alley behind. Parking Spot not labeled. Alleyway entrance only has burnt out, nonfunctioning path lighting. Unsafe!
So many negatives:
1)we were unable to lock the front door as there were no keys & no instructions on how to reset the pin pad
2) the kitchen was poorly cleaned with sticky cabinets & stove hood
3) stained shower curtain in tiny bath. Missing hook to hang night clothes- obviously fell out & not replaced.
4) dirty, heavily stained carpet in bed room, missing smoke alarm- empty mounting on wall.
5) water stained ceiling tiles
6) lack of accessible electrical outlets in living room & bed room
7) inability to watch live TV . No instructions on how to use the 2 remotes. Even after speaking with the local Vacasa Rep, we were not able to watch TV & she seemed unwilling to come out & show us how to use- for 4 nights! Detailed instructions need to be available for Guests
7) outside area was unkempt with rusty beach furniture & dead or missing landscaping.
Because of all this deferred maintenance, I would not recommend this rental to anyone
Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, BJ. We apologize that your experience in our home was not the vacation for which you had planned and for which we strive to provide our guests. Our team will go to the home to address the issues and to make needed repairs to ensure that everything is operational and repaired. This home doesn't have cable listed as an amenity but guests are able to use their personal streaming services on the Smart TV. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!
Kristin G. Aug 2020
I needed a quiet time away from my family for a little R and R, and this to totally Did the trick! Wish I could have stayed longer! The walk to the beautiful beach was incredible. Place was very clean and had all that I needed in the kitchen to cook. I will for sure be booking this place again in the future.
Roderic O. Mar 2020
This cottage was clean, well-equipped, one-block from the Pacific Ocean, and easy-to-book. Two disadvantages: i.)it is quite small although it was comfortable for us and our youngest adult son. And ii.) it is probably a converted garage wedged in-between a house and a narrow back alley way. Nevertheless, this "cozy cottage" was priced just right and we had a wonderful few days.
Sandra L. Feb 2020
Great location to beach. Cute and clean cottage. Bathroom is a one-person only use, but other rooms are comfy. Nice to have a dedicated parking spot in a busy area. Surrounding area is a mix of smaller bungalows and newer apartment buildings. Commercial area with restaurants and shops is within 2 miles of the cottage.
Grant T. Jan 2020
The house is small, but clean. The bathroom is really small, but adequate. The best thing about this place is the location. We did not have a car, and had no problem walking most of the time. It is less than 2 blocks from Windansea beach and a short walk to coffee shop, natural foods store and churches. We would for sure stay here again.
LIDIA C. Jan 2020
It was a cute cottage, a bit on the small side and a bit hidden but close to the beach
Marina W. Nov 2019
Loved being so close to Windansea Beach! The place is small but comfortable. We did have to open and close the sofa bed each day to be able to move around. The heater and fans worked well to control the temperature. TV options were excellent. The kitchen was adequate, but a few items were missing. Patio provides a neat private space but outdoor chairs need updating.
Manager response:
Thank you for the kind feedback, Marina! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. We will make sure the kitchen is appropriately stocked with all items as outlined in our check-in details. We hope to host you again soon!
Uwe K. Oct 2019
insgesamt also... both thumps up!!!
Tracy M. Oct 2019
This is the third time I have stayed in this adorable cottage. We love it!!!!
Sanna N. Sep 2019
The location was perfect for us, close to the beach, and the SuCasa restaraunt just up the street.
The parking place in the alley was a bonus.
We stayed for 3 weeks and had no problems.
Jonathan E. Aug 2019
Location was amazing. Would rather stay here than any other place we saw in La Jolla. However, the residence could use some updating and maintenance.
Amy O. May 2019
We loved the location. That is why we came back to the cottage!
Kimberly J. May 2019
Myself and two young children arrived to this location to an overwhelming smell of mold. While calling VACASA to assist in a fix for the issue, I noticed small 3-4 mm bugs crawling in and out of the base boards of the living room. VACASA said they would dispatch an emergent fix for the problem and would call me back in 30 minutes. NO call back, NO response when I sent letter to company. The only comment from phone person was no one else had complained about this place, which I find VERY hard to believe. I ended up paying a very large amount of money for a last minute booking to a hotel nearby for SAFE accommodation. VACASA was given 7 days to respond to my complaint prior to posting this review. Seriously find a different place. This is not what it seems.
Manager response:
Hi Kimberly, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We have followed up with our property manager to ensure that our home is clean, safe, and comfortable for our guests. We hope that the refund we issued will help you look back more fondly on your stay in our home.
Maria K. Mar 2019
Comfy and cozy cottage near the beach. Delightful scenery even in winter weather. Efficient apartment offers basic amenities and is close to all La Jolla attractions. Location is excellent to all San Diego fun.
Would confidently book again!
Sheri S. Feb 2019
It was very relaxing ,close to beach, coffee house and restaurants
Nabil A. Dec 2018
Anna is the property manager and she is the most helpful and friendly property manager you will ever deal with! Good luck.
Margaret I. Nov 2018
The unit was very clean and well stocked and cuter than it appeared in the photos. It's small but perfect for two people. The location was unbeatable: about a block from Windansea beach, and beach chairs and the umbrellas were much appreciated. Highly recommended, especially at that price point.
Jennifer L. Oct 2018
The house was very nicely decorated and clean. It is an older home and there were some cosmetic things that could have been fixed up, but nothing too major. It is small, but still very livable for our small family of 3. The neighborhood was very very quiet and the house was nicely situated to the beach as well. We would definitely come to stay again. Great little house.
David C. Oct 2018
Cozy cottage tucked away so close to the beautiful beach of Wind and Sea. Very quite and comfortable. Parking was a little tight for our van but nice to have a parking space. Might be good to put an address at the parking spot "3331/2". A/C was a welcome addition. Very relaxing stay.
Susanne K. Oct 2018
Great location, clean, quiet, comfy.
Kenneth P. Sep 2018
the unit was small but fully equipped. one block walk to the ocean.
Patricia L. Sep 2018
This is an old beach cottage in desperate need of a little TLC. When we first arrived, our initial impression was one of disappointment. Our opinion changed once we walked 2 short blocks to the beautiful beach at the end of the street. You can’t beat this location. We were just 20 minutes from Prospect Street (to the north), and 10 minutes to Pacific Beach (to the south). This beach cottage had many negatives, but it served our purposes. Since this was our 9th HomeAway in the past year, we could compare this place to many others. Some provide a welcome basket with a few food items from the area, others left a few bottles of water and a sheet detailing nearby restaurants and attractions. This cottage had nothing! No hair dryer (standard in all overnight places), and no basic cooking ingredients (i.e. Salt, pepper, sugar for coffee, and in many cases, a tiny bag of ground coffee). Other negatives included, the bathroom wasn’t by the bedroom, no closet in the bedroom, and the alleyway parking wasn’t marked or clearly specified in the check-in instructions. Perhaps a small sign or tiny flag might be suggested. That way people don’t have to annoy neighbors in the area, as we did. Overall, we enjoyed our days at the beach, and nights in La Jolla. We’ll be back soon, with a hair dryer, plenty of coffee, and bottles of water.
Dimitri R. Sep 2018
Una bellissima casetta ad un passo dal mare, in 20 min si è a San Diego e a piedi si possono raggiungere incantate baiette sparse qua e là.
Michele H. Sep 2018
It was very quiet! It was very kind of them to give us an air conditioner! The bed was really creaky. The refrigerator was broken and our leftovers were ruined. But was clean, safe & quite !
Maria H. Jul 2018
We loved the location of this cottage. It was perfect for what we needed for our visit. Anna, the property manager was extremely responsive and helpful.
Tracy M. Jul 2018
Awesome. Secluded. Close to the beach.
martin k. Jun 2018
Great little cottage really close to water in a quiet area. Very well equipped and extremely clean.
Kyle F. May 2018
Close to the beach, clean linens, and friendly management staff. Minus 1 star for personal preference reasons (it backs directly up to an alley, no dishwasher, the little refrigerator didn’t work very well, and the space was slightly smaller than we were anticipating- the size of a 2-car garage). Totally fine for 2 people, but I wouldn’t recommend trying 4 if you are doing anything but sleeping.
Deborah D. May 2018
Close to beach and very private!
russell c. May 2018
1/2 block from the beach. Everything worked fine. Place was clean and in good shape.
John j S. Apr 2018
Prime location, nice neighborhood and a very short walk to a beautiful, not overcrowded beach. The cottage has some wear and tear, older, but it is nice and clean, comfortable, has all the necessities, small yard and is in a quiet neighborhood. Bathroom is pretty small and Wifi connection a bit spotty. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
Devin B. Mar 2018
Great location, quick walk to the beach. The house was ok.
Carey B. Feb 2018
Great location. This place is as advertised. Perfect fo 2 people. The off street parking is handy. Place was very clean.
Donna P. Jan 2018
The area of La Jolla is beautiful with easy access to the beach. The "cabin" is in need of some basic TLC. Water stains on bedroom ceiling could be fixed, rusty fixtures in the bathroom: (light fixture, towel rack and shower fixture), burnt out light bulbs, sketchy light switch in the kitchen needs to be replaced, the living room wall plug is loose, it could use a sitting chair in the living room, internet was very flaky and cannot be reset from "cabin" as it is located in the main house. Previous reviews stated issues with the internet, however this appears not to have been addressed. Would be nice to have a binder of "local"attractions as well as well as tv use. There are many neat little cafes all over LaJolla and the ones we found were all very good. Pillows were very flat, and reps were asked for more, but because we weren't there during the day, we never received any. Carpet in bedroom could use a thorough cleaning, or just replace and put down some laminate. Much cleaner, as well as the living room rug, could be steam cleaned "once" in a while. I would stay here again if these issues were resolved. Overall we had a great time in La Jolla, spent most of our day grabbing a coffee and heading down to the water to watch the sea lions do some surfing alongside human surfers, would definitely return, but would look for other accommodations that would be comparative in price to the "cabin". We also used the Super Shuttle from the Airport for pickup and return and they offered a great service.
Manager response:
We are glad to see this guest enjoyed their time in La Jolla, and we'd like to apologize for any disappointments they experienced during their visit. The bathroom fixtures, bath mat, and pillows have been replaced with new. Housekeeping has the carpets scheduled for cleaning, and maintenance is actively working on any maintenance repairs needed. Thank you!
Rhonda M. Jan 2018
I found this cottage to be a quaint place to stay. The beach is within walking distance and even with the windows closed I could still hear the waves crashing, The furnishings and decorations were perfect for the beach. It was a very clean cottage. There was very little noise from any one in the area. I would most definitely stay there again, and highly recommend it for a short stay!
Jeremy F. Jan 2018
Very nice quaint area. Steps from the beach and minutes to shops and restaurants.
DAWN G. Dec 2017
The cottage was amazing! I absolutely loved it!
Patricia C. Dec 2017
When I booked our stay at the La Jolla Cottage my husband kept telling me there was no way I could find a place in La Jolla for the price I paid. He speculated all the way over on the condition, location, existence, etc. Well, the look on his face when we got there said it all! He couldn’t believe how perfect the place was! ...and it was immaculately clean. We will definitely use Vacasa again and again!! Thank you Vacasa for making our stay in La Jolla so special and affordable
Sadie K. Sep 2017
We spent a weekend here and this place was exactly what we needed: affordable, CLEAN, comfortable, and in a great location. Ana was super responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Lisa K. Aug 2017
This place was in the perfect place. Near the beach, close to shops and the place was great.
Autumn S. Jul 2017
Very close beach. Not to far from anthing you want to do
Tracy M. Jul 2017
We truly enjoyed out visit . The cottage was amazing and had all the amenities that we needed. The town is quaint and most things are within walking distance.
Stefania C. Jun 2017
Un cottage accogliente a due passi dalla spiaggia Wind & Sea. Il parcheggio privato è una grande comodità in quella zona. La pulizia è impeccabile. Check in e check out facili senza dipendere da nessuno. Le indicazioni che abbianoi ricevuto sono state perfette.
Bridget Y. Jun 2017
Really lovely little cottage spot. Very close to the beach, and also plenty of food options nearby. I'd definitely stay again if I had the chance.
Glenn B. May 2017
Excellent crash pad to get to the beach, rest of La Jolla
Audrey P. May 2017
Loved staying here, easy to walk to beach & eateries. Can't wait to come back.
Kate Y. Apr 2017
The beach that we walked to was so gorgeous, the best beach we found, can't beat the location. The rental is small, perfect for a couple. We had our son and he slept on the pull out couch and it was tight. Very small bathroom. Cute patio but we had noisy neighbors for a couple of the nights.
Shamile T. Apr 2017
Awesome little place near everything!
Sonja & Rick H. Dec 2016
This property is very small.
Jeffrey T. Nov 2016
Perfect location. Not as grand a property as the others in the street but reasonably priced for the area.
It had everything we needed.
The manager of the property was very helpful and communicated well.
I would come back again. Thanks
Mark D. Oct 2016
If you're reading this, you're on an internet connection, which was the biggest challenge for us with this stay. The wi-fi connection was very balky.
If you want to be near Windansea beach in La Jolla, this is your place. It's private -- tucked behind the main house with a tight, dedicated parking space off a narrow alley. That's nice to have, since street parking this near the beach can be a daunting challenge. The cottage itself is very small. I would not recommend it for four people if you plan to spend any time there. It's clean with a comfortable bed.
Nancy L. Sep 2016
We stayed here for a long weekend over the Labor Day holiday and really enjoyed our experience. We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the La Jolla area.

The cottage is a 5 minute walk to the beach and was close enough that we could easily carry our chairs, umbrella, and beach supplies to be there for the day. The beach directly at the end of the road is has quite a few rocky areas, but a two minute further walk to the north was a much larger (slightly more crowded) beach area that was great to set up for the day. The cottage is a 5 - 10 minute drive to almost any restaurant in the La Jolla area, a 15 minute drive to some great restaurants in Pacific Beach, and about 20 min. to Mission Beach. We thought the location was perfect to explore the entire area but loved how quite the street and area right around the cottage are. Perfect for a romantic weekend.

The cottage is pretty much exactly as it's advertised, it looks like it may have been a garage at one point that's been converted into a guest house. In the ad it says it can accommodate up to four people but it really should accommodate no more than two to be comfortable. The inside has been decorated very cute with a sea / beach theme and was comfortable for myself and my husband, but would have been very crowded had it been more than the two of us. The inside was clean, towels and bedding all looked new and we were good quality for a rental unit, and we liked that the small courtyard and entry areas were private and not shared with the main house. Two recommendations that we had for the owners were 1) the inside is ready for a fresh coat of paint to cover some of the wear / tear of having renters in every week and 2) the living room needs a small occasional chair added so that there is somewhere else to sit in addition to the couch.

Overall we were quite happy with our stay, we wanted somewhere that was close enough to walk to the beach, affordable, and more personal than a hotel, and we felt it delivered on all of those.
James C. Aug 2016
We spent two nights at this cottage and enjoyed the accessibility to the beach. Any further and we'd have had to drive the car. The unit is simple and clean, but not much to enjoy outside the unit. No privacy with the other unit overlooking the patio. You'll want to drive to the shops further north up the beach but once there, there's plenty to look at and lots of fine dining.
Michael M. Aug 2016
It was great to come home to a cozy place and be able to go to the beach at any time of the day or night. The convenience of having a 24 hour 7-11 nearby was also appreciated.
Rebecca S. Jul 2016
Location is wonderful, a block or so from the Beach it was a quick walk to a wonderful beach. We had 4 people (my husband, me and our 2 boys - 10 and 13), this cottage really was too small for that many of us. We were disappointed to find no air conditioning -- just a fan in the window. During our time there it was hot and never comfortable inside.

Although the building is old, the cottage was furnished nicely. But truly only provided the bare necessities - other rentals I've had have been much better stocked. But if you are 2 people and want to spend your time at the beach -- it's a great location and would work nicely.
Heather K. Jul 2016
This guest house is very small, but gave us just what we needed, no more, no less. Great price for the location. Small kitchen (with small fridge, like a large dorm fridge). Small bathroom (small shower, pedestal sink, no tub). Decent bedroom/living area, dining table for two. We had two adults and two small children who, thankfully, were okay with the pullout sleeper sofa. The location was amazing. We walked two short blocks to an incredible beach. Shops and restaurants are also within walking distance. Parking was a little tricky to find, specifically finding the alley access to get to parking behind the main property. Follow the driving directions very carefully, having to access the alley to get to parking is not mentioned in the parking section of your instructions. Overall, we were very satisfied and would definitely go back, that is, until our children get bigger. Two would definitely be more comfortable than four.
Brandi A. Jun 2016
The location of this little cottage was fantastic--less than a block to the beach. Clean, cute cottage with enough space for 4. The cottage is close to great restaurants, fun shops and tourist stops. I would definitely stay here again.
Sharon P. Mar 2016
This cottage is located in a nice area of La Jolla close to the beaches and waterfront. It is pleasant to hear the ocean outside your door. The property is difficult to find and at first glance looks unimpressive. However, the inside accommodations are comfortable for two people. The wireless signal is weak and inconsistent, but we were able to use it most of the week. It was a fair price for the good location.
Jason B. Dec 2015
Very close to great shoreline, close to La Jolla Cove; tide-pools, snorkeling, diving, etc.. I would definitely stay here again. Fantastic place for a quiet romantic getaway!
Vanessa B. Aug 2015
This was our second time here!!! Doing a third in September! Doesn't that say it all?!!

The cottage is perfect if you want total quiet relaxing space! Decor is updated, clean and fresh. space for 2 people , not more.,cottage is stocked with supplies but bring storage supplies if you plan on cooking and having leftovers. The beach is 2 minutes away where a morning walk was delightful.

I stayed here with my family was a cute cozy place right next to the beach. Can't beat the price for what you get and owners do not bother you. I really enjoyed my stay here, property was clean and great for a small family. Grocery store and restaurants are within walking distance. I would love to stay here again some time in the future.

My only complaint is the WIFi. can't get a signal at all, network shows up only half the time and can't connect. It's a shame as a $40 router set up as a repeater from the main house would solve the problem.

Now for the good, I can tether to my phone! but seriously. Typical beach cottage, a bit damp but well kept and the perfect size for 2. small refrigerator but all else is great. MOST are a 1-2 minute walk from a GREAT shore-line and beach. We went to La-Jolla main beach and it was crowded, Blacks beach is the best, but a drive and not for everyone ;) The beach directly in front of the rental had a great break, a constant flow of 10-20 surfers further out, and a great shore-line with just enough people. We will ABSOLUTELY stay here again

The proximity is great to La Jolla, the beach, great neighborhood & felt safe. Guests should understand this is just a converted garage on an alley. The wifi is terrible so do not expect to use it unless you sit outside. The parking spot off the alley is very small, but you can park on the street in front of the Main house and walk thru the gate to the "cottage".
Manager response:
We will see if there is anything we can do to get a better WiFi signal in the cottage for our guests. We appreciate your patience with us as we work on this. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!

This cottage is clean with basic fixings. So close to the beach. Walk to wonderful Windansea beach and cafe vahik coffee shop. Close drive to everything else in quiet La Jolla. Wifi is mediocre. Sofa bed is not comfortable, but queen is very nice. Soft bed linens, extra sheets and blankets, thick bath towels. Cottage is good size, lots of windows, nice kitchen stocked with the basics, plenty of hot water, good water pressure, great outdoor patio with green california plants and flowers. Parking spot is california -style tight, but you get used to it. Great to have an off-street spot. I recommend the cottage if wifi is not super important to you and you don't mind a cot-style sofa bed if you need it. Can't beat this location and price.

This cottage by the sea is a great find!

We were traveling with our 8-month old daughter and this home was perfect for our family. There was great value in having separate living/sleeping areas and we paid a fraction of the price for a suite in nearby hotels.

The quick walk down the hill to the water is far easier than struggling to find parking near the bigger beaches or the cove. Having a parking stall is really beneficial (neighbours make it a tight squeeze, so take your time!). The cottage is within a half-hour drive of the Gaslamp district, San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and the airport; making the location super convenient!

The property was a welcome reprieve at the end of each day - we were sad to leave and hope to be back!
