Loved the location, tucked in the woods but steps from the beach. Used the skim board and boogie boards, hot tub, and watched Joe dirt on vhs. Hot sourdough from the mercantile and long walks on the beach.
Travis H. Apr 2022
Loved the house in general. The skylights were breath taking first thing in the morning, and equally lovely in a rainstorm. Also very conveniently located near the beach.
Jennifer L. Jan 2022
This place was great! The beach access is right behind the house, literally steps away. House is cozy and better than expected. The best of both worlds with a woodsy feel at the house and steps from sandy beaches.
Erin K. Sep 2021
Mold and carpet stains everywhere. Had to purchase candle and open all window to avoid smell. At our next stay had to wash all laundry because it all smelt like Mold. Outside is not maintained and hot tub had so much chemical it makes me wonder if they ever clean it. Requested full refund, worst stay ever
Amy R. Jul 2021
The little cottage was just a few miles north of the sweet town of yachats. A must stop on the coast. Definitely eat @ the Drift Inn! Hot tub was clean and nice, we also used the firepit. Great spacious bathroom, great beds. Tons of awesome books to read and relax! There was no coffee - just an open bag of beans in the cabinet. FYI. Beach is expansive, wild, beautiful sunsets. Chilly, need a jacket! Fun using rope to go across rocks from the steps down to beach. I recommend this place.

There was black mold growing on the blinds on all the windows. Theres needle caps in the couch. Dirty hot tub when they chage a cleaning fee. House didn not looked disinfected.
Manager response:
We are so sorry to read we somehow missed any cleanliness issues and have housekeeping addressing it. Thank you, Deborah!

This hideaway was amazing my kids and I had a blast, we needed at least two more nights. Thank you vacasa. :)
Janis P. May 2021
This place was great, a short walk with the dogs to the beach, a stone's throw from lots of sight seeing places, hiking and good eating. It's like a cocoon you can come back to, TV if you want, time machine if you play the VCR tapes. Cozy fireplace and outside a pit for outdoor fire and S'mores. We would have liked to go back again this summer but sadly it's all booked out. We'll be back next year.

The good: Great location in between Yachats and Waldport. Short drive in either direction to restaurants and things going on in both towns/areas. Because it’s away from both, and in a small neighborhood, it is very peaceful and quiet. Gorgeous beach and miles of sand in either direction. Beautiful sunsets. House is well stocked: kitchen (everything you need), games, extra linen/blankets, movies, etc,. Very comfortable. Comfy sofas and beds. I would stay here again. Unfortunately there was a slight mildewy smell which we noticed when walking into the house at first and when returning from our day trips. We didn’t notice the smell after being in the house for a few minutes. The only bathroom has poor ventilation (no fan) and a skylight directly above the tub/shower. Condensation created by shower has caused a black mold to grow on the drywall surrounding the skylight. That issue should be resolved by the owners because of the obvious long term problems it will create. But all in all I had a really good time in the house and enjoyed my stay there.
Megan F. Aug 2020
we had a great relaxing time! The house is on a quiet dead end road with a shared beach access very close by. The house was seemed a little bigger in person compared to the pictures online. The hot tub was very nice and relaxing as well!
Sarah H. Jul 2020
This place was perfect! Very clean and welcoming. Super close to the ocean (access point is not handicap accessible FYI) and the hot tub is a nice touch. They also have all the toys and chairs you would need for a fun day at the beach! Would definitely recommend!
Rose L. Jun 2020
This cozy home is bright & airy. There are all the amenities you need and plenty of sleeping space.
Julie C. Aug 2019
Fire pit was awesome, home was nice and clean. Close to beach.
Lisa C. Aug 2019
Could hear the ocean from the cabin. Short walk to the beach path. Clean and very comfortable. Shower handle was broken but everything else was great. Would definitely return.
Ashley L. Apr 2019
The hottub was nice. The house was just right for our family. Would recommend.
Joshua O. Feb 2019
Secluded home in the woods with good access to lovely beach.
Wendy Marie E. Jan 2019
enjoyed the "natural" setting with trees etc. Also, very close to the beach - with pathway right there nearby the house.
Damon C. Sep 2018
Great location, nice clean house, hot tub was awesome!!
kendall l. Jul 2018
Quiet house with good privacy. The beach was beautiful and not crowded. The library and skylights were very nice. The hot tub and yard were great for relaxing.
Cindy B. Jul 2018
Close walk to the sandy beach, loved sitting in the hot tub in the evenings when it cooled off
Amanda N. Jul 2018
We liked the private backyard and hot tub. It could use an upgrade on Netflix/tv options. Internet was great! Super cool fire pit and awesome beach access.
Debora O. Jun 2018
Great house, loved the hot tub, but beach access is not for those who can't climb. The stairs go part of the way down, then you need to grab a rope and use it to go down some rocks. Not terrible, but not for everyone.
Kimberly P. Jun 2018
I loved that there were all the amenities of home. That the beach was easily accessed and the hot tub was relaxing. It is close to town shopping for provisions and videos. We had such a relaxing stay wish we could do it more often.
Megan C. May 2018
I live the camping feeling, one house a way from the beach!! Best of both worlds!! And having the beach almost to yourselves was amazing!
Amanda R. Feb 2018
What a stunning place. Very relaxing and enjoyable.
Carl B. Sep 2017
Wonderful unless you require king bed and full cooking ware, but a nice place overall.
Chandra L. Aug 2017
The house is perfect for families with young kids. It was wonderful to be able to walk easily walk to the beach from the house. Great coffee shop and brewery nearby.
Jamie G. Jun 2017
We loved our two night stay here and hope for a longer trip next time! Right outside of Yachats, and nearly next to the beach. Loved the hot tub and fire pit, but wished there was a tad more privacy from the homes across the street. A great spot for dog lovers as the stretch of beach is very long, and on our weekend, not at all crowded! Will definitely come back to this cozy cabin!!
Janell S. May 2017
Loved the quiet beach, large fire pit & hot tub.
Kristin M. Apr 2017
It's close to the ocean, no view but you can hear it! We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub a listening to it. Although the hot tub's chemicals were a bit off, it was excessively bubbly and strong smelling! The place is well maintained & cute! Pillows in the main bedroom were SO comfy! Interesting art throughout. We'd definitely stay here again!
Sarah F. Dec 2016
Great location, ample space in the house for our family. We loved the hot tub!
Steph J. Oct 2016
The location was amazing for the price. The beach access is closer than described. You can hear the ocean from the backyard. The hot tub was perfect for two people. There is a sense of privacy without feeling closed in as well. I will most definitely book this coastal cottage for my next visit to Yachats.
Nancy P. Oct 2016
It was a very nice place to stay on the beach. Entrance to the beach took us awhile to find as it is north of the cabin.
Windi B. Sep 2016
The house and location was great. I stayed for 4 nights with my 3 year old, 2 year old, sister and mom. It was comfortable, close to the beach and a wonderful time!
LeAnne R. Sep 2016
This was a very decent house close to the beach. You only have to walk down a gravel road a very short distance, then down a path to some stairs to the beach. There is no ocean view, but it is very close to the beach. The house was fairly well maintained and well stocked in the kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean, the carpet and wood laminate flooring looked like new. The wood fireplace was great to have, and we enjoyed the hot tub. It is a fairly private setting, compared to some other places. The largest bed is only a full size, which was o.k. for us, but some people may want a larger bed. The kitchen window is fogged (seal is broken), so it's hard to see out the window which is too bad because it looks out onto a nice green lush yard. Watch out for the hidden $40 hot tub fee. It isn't mentioned anywhere, and is lumped in with all the fees. I didn't find out about it until I specifically asked for a breakdown of the fees because they seemed really high. Bring your own wood for the fireplace and fire pit, as they don't supply it. All in all, we were happy with our stay here!
Jeff M. Sep 2016
This secluded space is a good place to get away. It's comfortable, well-provisioned, and has a great fireplace (and fire-pit). It's very close to the beach, and far enough removed from 101 that you hear little traffic. Beach access is quite close, but it involves rickety steps and a steep and rocky pathway--not recommended for the elderly or unaccompanied kids or pets. We made good use of the kitchen and modern appliances, appreciated the ample bookcase, and were delightfully surprised by the excellent internet access.
Christopher W. Aug 2016
We had a very enjoyable weekend! This small but comfy property was perfect for our family of 6 (one sleeping in the living room area), and the dog. Very clean! Lots of towels were set out, which we appreciated. Kitchen was well appointed to cook pretty much whatever you would like.

Note about going down to the beach: From the property, as you're facing the ocean, turn RIGHT and 50 feet to a small hidden trail between properties. This will go down to staircase. There is another trail if you turn left, but much steeper and not ideal for children or pets.

Recommend trying Luna Sea Fish House in, Yachats. It is owned by a local fisherman who runs this small eatery. Benches set up under heated tent provide a fun atmosphere, and they are dog friendly under the tent too.
Patricia K. Aug 2016
Thank you for all the work you put into making this home so inviting and comfortable. We didn't get the opportunity to take advantage of the hot tub or firepit, we were in town for a wedding and really were too exhausted to enjoy all this house had to offer, but plan on returning in the future just to enjoy this house and the beach. There were some minor issues, the bath tub faucet was loose, but I loved all of the excess blankets, pillows, the amazing variety of movies and games to entertain guests. The bed and couch were comfortable and I loved all of the art decorating the place. Visitors really need to check out the Bread and Rose bakery and Luna Sea Restaurant while they are in town.
Nikki G. Jul 2016
We stayed here over the 4th Holiday and enjoyed Yachats.
Bethany R. Jun 2016
Yachats is such a beautiful area, and it was really nice being able to walk down to the beach every day! Cozy, comfortable place with all the necessary amenities.
Katherine W. Jun 2016
We enjoyed our family graduation stay. This house was perfect for a small get-together. The outside amenities made it well worth the stay!
Carlotta C. May 2016
Wonderful time, great location, clean, loved hot tub and fire pit
Michelle D. Apr 2016
I would recommend this property to anyone. Awesome hot tub. Such a quaint little place. Perfect for a single family and it's pet friendly. Our furbabies loved running along the not so busy stretch of beach. Can't wait to come back you won't regret it! :)
Amber K. Apr 2016
We had an amazing time. The home was perfect for what we needed. We loved being so close to the beach and would go down every morning and every evening. The house was very clean and cozy plus we got to have a fire and relax in the hot tub every night. We will definitely be back! It was perfect!!!!!
Raechel D. Mar 2016
It was very rainy during our stay which made the hot tub and fireplace even more enjoyable for us. Overall, it was a good place to stay.
Megan C. Mar 2016
A very cozy and clean kept home. Had everything in the kitchen, etc that you would ever need. Just bring your clothes and food..made packing so easy :) Will definitely go back.
Tiffany G. Jan 2016
We had a great time! We especially loved the hot tub and the outside firepit. Also, The house is practically right on the beach! We would definitely stay here again!
Jacqueline B. Nov 2015
This coastal cottage is what one would expect of a house near the beach. Small, cozy, a hint of mildew in the air. When we arrived we were lucky to have our cell phone flashlights because the front porch light was either burnt out or the fixture broken. We found it to be very clean though and the kitchen adequate for preparing our Thanksgiving meal. My husband and son enjoyed the hot tub but only briefly as the chlorine levels were too high and their skin began to burn. This house is in a wooded area but separating it from the beach are 4-5 other cottages. Once on the beach though you can literally walk for what seems like miles in either direction. And we did. Our two dogs had never been to the ocean before so this was a real treat for them. This home is a great location for visiting all the local towns which we also did. From Tillamook to Florence. I don't know if we would stay in this particular house again but we would visit this region and use Vacasa again.
Janet V. Jul 2015
This was our second stay at this cute little house. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to come back next year.
Diane T. Jul 2015
A very nice place to enjoy the rustic surroundings and nearby beautiful beach.
Renee F. Jun 2015
The house and property is the greatest. We didn't mind not being right on the beach because the access was so close and you could still see the ocean between the houses in front. You can hear the breakers while sitting in the hot tub or around a fire in the fire pit. The house was spotless and the towels and linens were fresh. We would definitely stay here again and we've told friends who are planning a coastal vacation to check it out.
Madeline G. Jun 2015
I had a wonderful weekend with my husband and our fur babies at the Coastal Hideaway. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the slow pace of coastal living. Only two small suggestions to make it a better place to stay: moldy areas noted in the bathroom on wall/ceiling and in the second bedroom wall/ceiling. The other issue is that the TV in the bedroom would not play videos or DVDs. Other than these two areas for improvement, the Coastal Hideaway was a wonderful place to spend the weekend.
Manager response:
Thank you for your suggestions. We will address the mold right away and will inspect the TV and DVD/VCR connection. We hope you loved using the hot tub! Thank you!
Zack W. Jun 2015
We were thankful to be able to utilize this property. There is not much open space around the house for activities (other than the fire pit), but it's proximity to the beach made up for any lack of yard space. The property was clean, and had an artistic touch. We had an awesome time, and are definitely planning on coming back.
Walwyn M. Oct 2014
This place had everything we were looking for. It was close to the beach and hiking trails, quiet, clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. The wood burning fireplace was great.
Manager response:
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, please visit us again soon.
Janet V. Jul 2014
We spent 3 nights here in July 2014 and had a great time. The beach access is close, it really is just a short walk and a few steps down to a beautiful sandy beach. We also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit each night. The weather was fantastic! The master bedroom needs a larger bed, which hopefully they will replace soon. We are looking forward to our next stay in the house!
Steve E. May 2014
A week was too short!
Manager response:
Thanks for your feedback! If a week was too short, why not come back and stay longer? We'd love to have you!
Alfred C. Apr 2014
Care was taken to provide over and beyond our needs. Thanks
Ahnie L. Jan 2014
We definitely enjoyed our time at this vacation home. The proximity to the beach was perfect and we spent lots of time down by the ocean. The house had all the cooking equipment we needed and plenty of other necessities that made our experience better. We will definitely try to rent a property through this company again!
Manager response:
Thank you for the kind words and great review. We appreciate your feedback about the home and look forward to serve you again in the near future!
Judy F. Dec 2013
Blue skies and sun but very cold temps. 20's A quick weekend with my adult kids. Lots of games, movies and a warm fire kept us busy when not on the beach. The beach house provides most of your needs for a fun time. A quick walk to the beach which goes forever. Very much a place I will return when it is warmer.
Julie S. Oct 2013
Great time at this little house just off the beach. Perfect for our kids and our dogs. Quiet, beautiful beach. Lots of movies to watch, close places to visit. Overall very satisfied.
Lisa M. Aug 2013
This rental was everything we hoped -- cute, comfortable house very close to the beach. Note, it is a bit farther from the beach than the listing shows, but it's really very close -- it's directly behind the houses that are beachfront. So just a 3 - 5 minute walk.

Besides the proximity to the beach, the coolest part was the firepit and deck area. Several built-in outdoor tables that would be suitable for a buffet line for a big group of people, and a firepit RIGHT outside -- close enough that we sat in front of the fire and could still listen for our sleeping baby without a baby monitor.

Just like the pictures show, it's not fancy, just comfy and cozy -- a perfect place to hang out and play at the beach.
Rachel/Bruce C. Mar 2013
A quiet, homey place to gather thoughts, breathe, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Oregon coast. A fabulous base from which to explore the beaches and coastal towns. We recharged our batteries and hope to return before they run down again!
Alison C. Feb 2013
Our stay at the Coastal Hideaway was very comfortable, with plenty of linens and a comfortable bed (main bedroom, queen). The house is nothing fancy, but it was comfortable, and it would be very kid friendly. Skylights were quite nice for brightening up our winter weekend stay. The kitchen wasn't spic and span, but it was adequately furnished with cooking utensils, but it would be difficult to make a big meal (i.e. not where I would choose to take the family for Thanksgiving). The privacy was great and the nearby beach access was terrific. This is one of our favorite beaches on the Oregon coast.
Darren G. Feb 2013
My husband and I stayed here for an early Valentines Day getaway and it was perfect. Great beach access, wonderful firepit, fireplace to warm up by in the evenings.....just wonderful.
Manager response:
We are glad you enjoyed Coastal Hideaway! Please come again soon.
Victoria W. Feb 2013
We were pleasantly surprised to find so many accommodations at the house - In the bathroom there were fluffy clean towels, a blow dryer, even home-sided bottles of shampoo and conditioner! The bedrooms had extra blankets, jackets and even a bathrobe! The kitchen was packed with matching dishes, pots and pans and bake ware - the refrigerator was even packed with condiments! We were lucky to have sunshine the first day and take advantage of walks on the beach, and, when it rained the second day, the fireplace gave us an opportunity to stay warm and cozy inside. The house was filled with family friendly games, videos, puzzles - we could have stayed there an entire week and not been able to take advantage of all the home-style fun at this house. Thanks for your hospitality - we felt the warmth through personal touches you placed in your home.
Manager response:
Thank YOU for your kind words! We appreciate your review and hope you can return soon!
Suzanne M. Feb 2013
A nice clean and quite beach house only steps from a great beach. Ocean front but not ocean view. Lots of light inside with many skylights. It could use a few minor repairs (blinds and driveway) but it was still enjoyable to stay there.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review and we are going to work on improving the driveway during wet weather.
Dusk W. Jan 2013
Such an awesome little house. This was our 2nd stay at this house and we loved it just as much as the first time! It is such a cozy home and wonderful beach access. We will definately stay with Vacasa again!
Manager response:
Thank you for being a return guest! We home to see you back again soon!
Amber M. Nov 2012
We really enjoyed our stay at this uniquely decorated home. Only drawbacks were not being able to use the wash machine and allergies flared up in the house. Otherwise, had an incredible time.
Manager response:
We are glad to hear you enjoyed this home. Apologies for not being able to use the washer, but unfortunately our home infrastructure cannot support it. We are sorry to hear about your allergies as well; the home has since be thoroughly deep cleaned so hopefully whatever was in the air won't bother you during your next stay!
Ute J. Oct 2012
every thing was great. the house was easy to find, clean and brite. wished we could have stayed longer. the neigborhood was very quiet and friendly,I will most definitly come again next year hopefully for longer. thank you so very much
Donna R. Sep 2012
We stayed in the house on Finnester, and it souldn't have been better! The short path to the beach was even beautiful and then it open to an amazing beach! The house felt so comfortable and homey! I will vacation in Vacasa homes wherever they are available!
Kathy R. Aug 2012
i think you need to extend the stairs to the beach to go over the big rocks at the bottom. we could not get over these rocks
debra a. Jun 2012
really sweet and cozy...short little walk to great stretch of beach
James Thomas r. May 2012
Come and see for yourself. Nice, clean, great place for a get together or family party. Some good views of the ocean from a close walk to the beach, Hurry and enjoy a great place to stay. T.R.
Lynn D B. Feb 2012
This was the perfect place for us - centrally located - clean and comfortable - not fancy but just right for our needs. With only two people the seating in the livingroom was fine but if more people are in the house at once - there needs to be more seating
