Tree house in Chattanooga, Tennessee
OVERVIEW
The Branch is a unique, experiential treehouse-style stay built for two. It trades hallways for tree-covered walkways. The bedroom, sitting room, and private balcony sit upstairs, while the kitchen, soaking tubs and outdoor shower, bathroom, and cedar sauna round out the downstairs. Guests also have access to the property's fire pit, petting zoo, pickleball courts, and the Sprout general store. This romantic stay is minutes from downtown, with quick access to Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain.
The Branch is an experiential treehouse-style stay spread across the canopy, with rooms connected by outdoor walkways and a set of stairs.
A short walk down from parking brings you to the main living space. Upstairs, you'll find the bedroom, with a queen bed, and a sitting/dining room with a TV across the patio. Both open onto a private balcony furnished with outdoor seating and string lights strung through the branches. It’s a beautiful spot for a morning coffee or a glass of wine after dark. Little secret: the sitting room houses a dumbwaiter for easy food transport up from the kitchen.
Downstairs, reached by walking back outside, is the kitchen, stocked for cooking with a stove, fridge, and kitchenware. Its distinctive layout reflects the unique space while preserving the original design of the treehouse. You will find a functional kitchen with the essentials for preparing simple meals, but it is not a conventional, fully equipped residential kitchen. We encourage guests to review the photos and listed amenities to ensure the space suits their needs. Past the kitchen, you'll pass the outdoor soaking tub and shower, open to the trees. Finally, you’ll reach the half bath and cedar sauna, a rare find this deep in the woods. Please note the toilet is part of the downstairs bathroom, separate from the bedroom upstairs.
As part of Wauhatchie Woodlands, guests staying at The Branch also have access to the shared fire pit and pavilion, the petting zoo, pickleball courts, and the Sprout general store. Firewood for the fire pit can be purchased on-property. Wauhatchie Woodlands is a family-owned collection of quaint, tiny-home, rustic-comfort log cabins on a 14-acre wooded property surrounded by National Park land, nested less than a mile from the city with quick access to downtown Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and the surrounding area.
You’ll have your treehouse all to yourself during your stay. Wauhatchie Woodlands is a 14-acre property surrounded by National Forest. Guests have access to trails around the grounds, as well as shared pavilions, community fire pits, and playground. Please be respectful of other guests during your stay.
Wauhatchie Woodlands sits in Lookout Valley, a scenic pocket of Southeast Tennessee tucked between the Tennessee River and the base of Lookout Mountain. It’s close enough to Chattanooga to explore, yet far enough to feel like you've escaped the hustle and bustle of the city. Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center is nestled right at the base of the mountain with 12 miles of hiking trails and canoe rentals to paddle scenic Lookout Creek. Those trails connect directly up the mountain, where Rock City, Ruby Falls, Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park, and Raccoon Mountain Caverns round out the adventure. When you're ready for a bite or a night out, downtown Chattanooga is only minutes away.
Fall is a full season in Lookout Valley. September brings Ironman Chattanooga through downtown, five minutes away, and Rock City opens its Enchanted Pumpkin Patch up the mountain from September 18 through October 31. Mid-October through early November is peak leaf season here, with the valley's pastures and foothills making for an easy scenic drive. Downtown fills up too, with Wine Over Water at Renaissance Park on October 10, World of Bluegrass October 20–24, and Head of the Hooch at Ross's Landing the first weekend of November, one of the largest rowing regattas in the country. Wauhatchie Woodlands keeps you close to all of the autumn action.
