Gualala is the hub of the Mendonoma coast — a small town with surprisingly good food, art galleries, a well-stocked Surf Market, and the Gualala River meeting the Pacific at Gualala Point Regional Park. From the cabin you're a few minutes' drive from beaches, bluff trails, and redwood hikes, with the Point Arena Lighthouse a scenic drive north and Sea Ranch's famous architecture just south.

Gualala is about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco via Highway 101 to Highway 1, with the final stretch along one of California's most scenic coastal drives. Charles M.
