Former Vice President of Engineering Will Lead the Company’s Technology Division of 200+ Employees
PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 14, 2020 — Vacasa, North America’s largest vacation rental management platform, has announced it has appointed a new chief technology officer. Jeff Flitton, previously the company’s vice president of engineering, has taken over from former CTO Tim Goodwin.
The move comes as Goodwin, who has been with the company since 2017, relocates to California to pursue a new opportunity as CTO of TigerConnect, a healthcare communication platform.
Goodwin is credited with laying the foundation for Vacasa’s technology organization. In his three years with the company, Goodwin scaled Vacasa’s platform from supporting 5,000 vacation homes to its current inventory of more than 25,000 vacation homes around the globe.
He demonstrated dedication to fostering an inclusive workforce by spearheading several diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) programs and partnerships throughout the company. Most recently, he engaged with Treehouse and the TalentPath program to recruit and train a class of technology apprentices, who were later hired into full-time roles as software engineers. Vacasa will welcome another class of apprentices in 2020.
“Tim’s contributions to Vacasa are countless. He took what was once a small and nimble team of 50 and scaled it to more than 250 across five locations — Auckland, New Zealand; Boise; Destin; Portland; and Santiago, Chile — to support Vacasa’s rapidly growing operation,” said founder and CEO Eric Breon. “We thank him for his tireless efforts in creating a robust technology team that brings so much value and innovation to our organization on a daily basis.”
Flitton, who also joined Vacasa in 2017, will be focused on expanding machine learning applications as Vacasa develops new products and services to meet the needs of the company’s 21,000+ homeowners and two million guests per year. He will also continue to scale Vacasa’s platform to support the integration of Wyndham Vacation Rentals’ homes and employees.
“Jeff is absolutely the right person to succeed Tim in the CTO role,” said Breon. “He is a well-respected leader in the company and has demonstrated his ability to inspire creative solutions and energize the team. We’re excited to see what he brings to the table in his new role.”
Flitton began his career with Lionsbridge, a leading language translation company, and spent several years with both AmeriBen and Balihoo. He joined Vacasa in 2017 as director of software development and was promoted to vice president of engineering the following year.
With Flitton at the helm, Vacasa’s technology team will continue to grow and has more than 30 open roles in engineering and product management. For more information, visit vacasa.ca/careers.
