Vacasa Hires Tim Goodwin as Chief Technology Officer

April 27, 2017

Portland, Ore., April 27, 2017 — Vacasa, the second-largest U.S. vacation rental management company, today announces the naming of Tim Goodwin as chief technology officer. Goodwin will oversee Vacasa’s 50-person technology department -- which includes product development, product management and IT -- to drive effective processes and innovation.

Goodwin joins Vacasa with more than a decade of technology experience, and will immediately focus on strategically streamlining Vacasa’s technology processes to prepare the company for continued growth and innovation.

“We are excited to welcome Tim to the Vacasa team,” says Vacasa Founder and CEO Eric Breon. “Tim has a proven track record of running product development teams in an environment of growth. He is extremely capable, highly respected, and an excellent leader. Tim will help us scale our engineering team and increase velocity as well as continue to build upon our existing momentum in the areas of development and innovation.”

Goodwin, who moved to Portland, Oregon with his family four years ago, joins Vacasa from Fiserv Inc. There, Goodwin most recently held the title of senior vice president and CIO, managing product development and sustained engineering teams for Digital Channels’ online and mobile solutions.

“The opportunity for innovation is extensive in the vacation rental industry,” says Goodwin. “Whether it’s homeowner yield or customer experience, there is so much to be done. That challenge is immensely exciting to me.”

Founded by Eric Breon and Cliff Johnson in 2009, Vacasa provides its comprehensive vacation rental management solution to thousands of homeowners across the U.S., Europe, Central America and South America. To date, Vacasa manages more than 5,000 unique vacation rentals across the country.

Known for its technology-driven approach to vacation rental management, Vacasa announced its enhanced, machine learning-driven pricing model, Yield Management 2.0, earlier this month to further optimize homeowner revenue. In 2016, Vacasa integrated Matterport Spaces virtual home tour technology, a multimillion dollar investment that came at no additional cost to owners or guests.
