Vacasa Expands Luxury Offerings in Southern California Through Deal with SeaBreeze Vacation Rentals

North America’s leading vacation rental management platform sets the stage for regional growth, investing in local teams and facilities

Portland, Ore., August 10, 2021Vacasa, North America’s leading vacation rental management platform, today announced it will assume management of SeaBreeze Vacation Rentals, a premier vacation rental company in Southern California. With this transaction, Vacasa will add more than 400 luxury homes and condos in top oceanfront vacation destinations, including La Jolla, Del Mar and Malibu, and support continued growth with an investment in local operations. Vacasa will now manage nearly 600 vacation rentals in the region.

Jonah Mechanic and Vanessa Neff started SeaBreeze Vacation Rentals in 2002 with Jonah’s single vacation home in San Diego and grew it into one of the region’s top vacation rental management companies along the California coastline. The company expanded to a multi-city operation when Jonah and Vanessa partnered with brothers Brian and Jeff Bosson in early 2015, establishing SeaBreeze Vacation Rentals as it’s known today.

Vacasa will welcome 130 employees to its operations and management teams as part of the deal, and retain five SeaBreeze offices and laundry facilities throughout Southern California. Jonah, Vanessa and the Bossons will also remain with Vacasa through the transition: Jonah will oversee San Diego compliance under the Short-Term Residential Occupancy (STRO) ordinance, while Vanessa and Brian aid in homeowner and operations integration, respectively, and Jeff will stay on indefinitely to lead sales and compliance in Orange County. By fall 2021, all SeaBreeze vacation homes will be listed and bookable on, in addition to the SeaBreeze Vacation Rentals website.
