This community sits right on the south end of its namesake lake, not far from the border of Washington State. It's about 13 miles east of Grand Forks and 47 miles southwest of Castlegar, another mountain community. Drive about 140 miles northwest and you'll encounter the beautiful lakeside city of Kelowna.
Aquatic fun is the star of the show here, from boating to fishing to simply swimming. Christina Lake Provincial Park and Gladstone Provincial Park are the two public beaches in the area, perfect for bringing a picnic and enjoying a summer afternoon. Christina Lake Golf & Country Club offers scenic opportunities to tee off, as does Cascade Par 3 nearby.
There's plenty to do here in the winter, too. Phoenix Ski Hill and Red Mountain Ski Resort both offer excellent slopes for ski and snowboard enthusiasts. Nordic skiers can explore the trails at Paulson Cross-Country Ski Club or Phoenix Cross-Country Ski Club.
